Wonderful, off the beaten track, one on a quintessentially Seattle streets, with drinks you won't find at Starbucks. very friendly staff, not loud, shady seating on benches reminiscent of Farleys in Potrero Hill in S.F. The inside is subdued and the late afternoon hits the walls in a beautiful light. I ordered the passion fruit - sencha - lemonade iced drink, on one of the last days of our short Seattle summers.

I went here because Macrina Bakery had closed for a power outage this week and it was close by so I thought I'd stop in. I was taken aback by how expensive it was, $7.2 (with tax) for an 8 oz cappuccino.. I think their prices include tip so that was the justification I came up with for how expensive the prices could be. Like the others point out, the service was fine. They clear the line quickly but they're not nice about it. The cappuccino wasn't that hot so it got cold quickly and the taste was decent, but nothing special. I did enjoy looking at the book selection while I waited, they have a wide variety.

My drink was totally fine - a matcha. The ambiance was also fine, with cute book display and a good amount of natural light and places to sit. My score would have been higher, but for the service. The barista was pretty curt and grumpy. She closed early as well - she turned off and cleaned the machine 20 minutes before close and told someone who came in about 15 minutes before close that she couldn't make an espresso drinks. She also kept reminding me she was closing soon from about 45 minutes before close. I totally get having a bad day and not being perky, but this felt unwelcoming and off putting.

Very cute coffee and bookstore. Has cute seating area and lighting to do work or chat. Baristas are very friendly and helpful. Very creative espresso drinks.

I really wanted to like this place since it's cute and has a no tip policy, but my drink was really bad I was very excited to try their seasonal drinks, so I got this strawberry matcha drink with soy milk. It was just very powdery, not sweet, and had zero matcha flavor. I watched them make it (was kinda forced to stand there bc they waited until they were done with the drink to ring me up ) and they use strawberry Nesquick powder, and matcha from a big tub which is probably why it lost all flavor (or was cheap matcha to begin with). Service wasn't bad but a little weird; however, my rating is purely on the drink. A waste of $8 since I gave up and threw it away when I left :(

Outside seating has two separate coveted booths.

Music is perfecto for morning. Relaxing and easy. They also have a patio outside to serve more customers. Coffee is also on point. My Americano is not too bitter and smells fantastic. Baristas are super friendly and welcoming as well.

Hot chocolate and mocha, read and hangout with The Homie (3/10/18)

Late to the game posting on Yelp....been going to three Fuel locations in Wallingford, Montlake, and Capitol Hill off and on for years. Visited the North Capitol Hill location recently on 3/10/18 after an early dinner at nearby Rocket Taco with The Homie. Nice cafe interior with eye catching bric a brac, plants, books, maps, curios and such. Cafe seating include tables or sitting at the elevated front window counters. And yes, ample wall outlets, lamps, cafe eats and beverages for those inclined to stay awhile. Very pleasant, hip barista who made a decent mocha and hot chocolate. Make sure to start a stamp card too! So into catching up on my reading that didn't realize it was closing time at 7pm! Just nice to hangout a bit where it's Goldilocks just right.

My cousin and I were basically playing hide and seek because I couldn't find where she was. Lol. I had a hard time finding it, but once I finally did totally worth it! This cozy bookstore feels like stepping back in time. Shelves are stacked with a mix of used, vintage, and classic books, and honestly... they smell like it too. Lol. There's just something comforting about that old-book scent. You'll find everything from fiction and poetry to rare finds and children's titles tucked in the corners. It's small, quiet, and slightly perfectly imperfect in the best way because every shelf feels like a treasure hunt! The nostalgic vibe makes you want to linger a little longer. Priced fair, service is fast. If you love books with history and personality, this is a sweet little hidden gem worth discovering inside Pike Place. A nice escape from the Market's buzz just you, the books, and that unmistakable paper and ink smell.

I walked in and didn't expect much, but we were exploring the levels of Pike Place because I didn't realize they had levels upon my last visit. I was also looking for a biscuit spot that was across the street. So we went back and forth, floor by floor and found this gem where we stopped to peruse the books. My husband found some books and bought them. The person working there was nice and helpful. It was clear that he knew his inventory, as my husband asked about a book and he led him to it. The value was good as well. I know that we will definitely be back, next time, I hope to spend a bit more time there. This isn't the most organized place, but if you are willing to look through the books and are open to the surprise find that awaits you, then this is the spot for all of that!

Took me an hour to find Lion heart book store cause it's in one of the levels at Pike place and being such a small and crammed spot with many many stores was very hard to find. I totally will take the blame on my navigation skills but what was disappointing was calling multiple times and no one picked up my call - just for some tips or guidance. Next the owner wasn't in the store, there was this boy who no matter how well or how nicely I tried asking for tips on books or any details around books the only response I got was "unfortunately I don't have any info, you have to look up the books" gosh! That wasn't the help I was expecting and the boy refused to move from his spot or even try helping from the spot he was so comfortably perched on. No matter what, bad bad experience!
