    Shrimp Ceviche Plate (take out)

This place has been on my list since it opened as I drive by it everyday on my way home. It's in an area that if you miss the entrance, you're going to have to do a U-turn and come back around. But it's worth the hassle! Inside is absolutely stunning; classy booths with ample seating throughout the restaurant, an incredible bar, and a great selection of food on the menu. Service: 5/5. We were well looked after throughout our meal never having to ask for top ups. Staff were very friendly and professional. Drinks: 5/5. The margaritas are made to individual taste (salt or sugar rim, iced or on the rocks etc.) I chose the peach flavor and did not regret it. Food: 4.7/5 I ordered the camarones chipotle and was a little disappointed it only came with rice. I should have ordered a side salad, but I'm so used to every Hispanic-Latino joint serving "rabbit food" with each dish it was an expectation which I should have addressed when ordering. Not their fault. My spouse ordered the piña loca and that is a 10/10 dish. Incredible flavor and generous portion. Take out: 10/10. I also ordered to go on a separate occasion and took the shrimp ceviche to go. So far, this ceviche is the best I've had in FXBG because of the additional spices and black sauce that they use. Absolutely delicious. Overall, a 5 star experience. I will 100% be back to try more.

Yesenia is a WONDERFUL server! The margarita's are FANTASTIC! And I say this from extensive experience this is the BEST Mexican food I've ever had! Loved the ambiance the music was good and at a level that allowed for intimate conversation. Didn't feel like I had to tell to be heard by my dinning companions. Go soon and enjoy the food and margaritas!!

This place has a nice ambience, food is good. I am not sure how I feel about the drinks though.....I ordered the biggest margarita and it was all really just sugar that made me feel all bloated afterwards. Maybe I need to try smaller drinks and other variety as well. Service was great! Also when I complained about the drink, they did add another shot without any charge. Would definitely go back, and recommend this place to everyone.

To start off, they have a nice patio & beautiful decor inside. Rating this place as a 5 for my experience. We had great service from Cecia & Sebastian. She greeted us really well specially when we wanted to check out the bar. There, we received service from Sebastian. He was wonderful! He knew everything on the menu and even suggested drinks we may like. He showed kindness, knowledge & upbeat personality which made the experience great. All of this is based on service, drinks and appetizers (had the guacamole which was seasoned to perfection). I will definitely be back to try the food. Id recommend the drinks for sure! One thing to note, they have a private area for a party of 20+ or more by the bathroom. Music is on point. Please check it out!

Although the enchiladas had a red chicken inside the tortillas, taste fresh and homemade. The meal comes with rice no beans. The food came fast and we had excellent service. Thank you,Sebastian, good job.

Amazing service, food quality, and vibes. I will definitely be returning and recommend anyone who enjoys Mexican cuisine. Ask for Yessie (server) she was perfect and so was our meal. Thank you very much to the cooks.

As my wife and I was finally able to make a visit, which was located on Patriot Hwy in a strip mall with other businesses such as Discount Tires, Wings to Go. There's limited parking but manageable. As you walk in, it's not your typical Mexican style custom colorful decor but more modern stylish atmosphere which felt warm and cozy. They have a full bar and offer a patio for outside seating. Their chips and salsa were delicious and really enjoy how the salsa was thick unlike most places. We ordered 4 items: 1) Buffalo wings 2) Steak street tacos 3) Combination fajitas 4) Tres leches. The wings they offer three flavors buffalo, mango-habanero and garlic. I went with the buffalo and these chicken pieces of drumettes and flats was packed with meat which were tender and full of flavor. The steak street tacos were tasty but the meat itself fell flat for us. It was very chewy , overcooked and hurt my jaw. It tastes like it wasn't fresh and held in a third pan waiting to be served. I had some leftover lettuce with the buffalo sauce on it, added that on top of the tacos which enhances the flavors. The combination fajitas was delicious and all of the meats (carnitas, shrimp, steak, chorizo) were tender except the steak which was again overcooked, chewy and dry. It was served with refried beans, fluffy rice, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and hot tortillas. For the dessert we ordered the tres leches which didn't disappoint. It was light, moist and a must get item. Our server Miguel was friendly, energetic, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean. We will make another visit to try other items on their menu.

From our waiter Mike to the food everything was amazing! The interior is cute as well. We will be back next time we travel through the area. Now they just need to put one in North Carolina.

This place was phenomenal! Down to the horchata , which was the best I've tried in VA. The service was great too. The ambiance is truly outstanding and you'd never know if you pass by and let the outside fool you. There is outdoor seating but indoors is beautiful. The menu options are great! We shared 3 entrees and it did not disappoint. We got quesabirria tacos, carnitas , and enchiladas verdes. Plus sopapillas for dessert. We'll be back for more! Thank you for the great staff and delicious food!

We went on a slow Monday night, the server quickly brought us chips, salsa and a white sauce. The chips needed some salt and the salsa was alright, but I like a tad more of a kick. We ordered two drinks, the gordo burrito and tacos pastor. I liked my mezcalita and the hubby ended up having two of the house margaritas with a sugar rim. The burrito was huge, it could have fed the both of us and was loaded with meat. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the texture combination of the shrimp and steak, but the cheese sauce on top was delicious. My pastor tacos had a good amount of meat, which was a great texture and moist with not too many onions. I enjoyed the beans and rice, and I'm not normally a rice person. There was plenty to take home and eat later. Overall solid spot. I would definitely go again.

A friend hit me up for happy hour on a Saturday night, and shockingly, I was home from work early enough to actually make it happen. Even more shocking? We chose Cheeky's, and I couldn't have been happier. The last time I was here was back when it was Casey's and Cheeky's was just launching, so I was excited to see how it had evolved. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was giving elegant, cozy, and intimate. Soft lighting, relaxed energy--basically the kind of place that gently tells you to sit down, sip a cocktail, and forget about your responsibilities. My friends had already ordered and kindly let us sample their food. I can't remember exactly what it was (possibly drunken noodles? Possibly magic?), but whatever it was, it was delicious. Since we didn't want to copy their order, my boyfriend and I went with the duck fries, duck wings, and fried beef tips with rice. Let me start with the fries because...wow. Skinny fries tossed in garlic, what tasted like truffle, and cooked in duck fat. Honestly? Some of the best fries I've had in a long time. I would come back just for those. My boyfriend loved the duck wings, which were generously coated in mumbo sauce. A little too saucy for me (I prefer my wings slightly less...bathed), but the flavor was solid and the portion was more than fair. My fried beef tips were everything--perfect crunch, just the right amount of sauce, and packed with flavor. A true masterpiece that really showcased Asian-inspired cuisine at its best. I also ordered the hibiscus lemon drop, which was so good I considered ordering a second (and did). That said, it was a bit overpriced for the size--but still tasty enough to make me forgive it. Overall, Cheeky's is super chic, serves delicious cocktails, and delivers flavorful, creative food. If you're looking for a food adventure or something a little out of the norm, I 100% recommend stopping by for an evening. My only complaint? I still dream about the pork katsu sandwich they had back in the Casey's days--served with homemade wonton chips. I think about that sandwich more often than I'd like to admit. Please...bring it back.

The only issue i had when I went in, was that the coffee tables are a bit lower to the ground than was comfortable. My friend and I came during restaurant Week, apparently during happy hour! We ordered duck fries off the happy hour menu, but then also crispy beef, cucumber salad, biang biang shrimp, and duck wings. Everything was phenomenal! The cucumber salad was too spicy for me but it was a risk I took, even tho I could see all the flakes of red spicy all over it. Our server was very nice and he even tried to do the math to see which way to ring in or order to make the price in our favor. We told him not to worry about it, it's fine. We actually never got the duck fries, but at least it was the HH price and not full price. Oh! Then we got the red velvet cinnamon roll for dessert... I will say, I didn't love it. I love red velvet everything, but did not love that. The icing didn't taste like cream cheese although it was super light and fluffy... it was warm in some areas and just cold in others... idk, I just think it could be better executed in a couple different ways. Typically i might take a star away for not getting an item ordered and not loving the dessert, but i didn't mention any of it, so there was no option for the establishment to do anything about it even if they wanted to.

Today's venue of choice was a place called Rivers End, which sounds like either a cocktail bar or a warning label, depending on how your day's going. It starts off a little funny because you have to figure out the right door, then march yourself up the stairs like you're reporting for duty. Once you get up there, though, it feels like the kind of cool old place that's seen some things. You can almost feel the years rolling by, from Caribbean rum days to whiskey nights to the modern era of "smart cocktails," where they put things like herbs and intentions in your drink. The vibe was right. Cocktails were great--strong enough to matter, smooth enough not to apologize for. The food was excellent across the board, the kind that makes you stop talking for a minute so you can do some serious fork work. Most important, our waiter Shane was dead on the mark: there when you needed him, gone when you didn't, and never once tried to explain the menu like we'd just landed from Ohio for the first time. I can't find a single thing to complain about, which for me is almost a complaint in itself. Good value, good food, and a good scene--about all you can ask from an afternoon you're not spending at work. Next visit will be brunch, and I hope it's soon. Oh, and I did have the tostadas, but I got so excited by the smell I forgot to take a picture. Lewis would've understood. Some things are meant to be eaten, not photographed

I had just come from a hair appointment down the street and on my way back to my car, I noticed Sangria advertised on the mini sandwich board outside. I'm a HUGE fan of a glass of fruity Sangria on a hot day! The fact that it was Happy Hour with $5 glasses made it even easier to draw me inside!! When I explained this was my first visit, they explained the Curio concept, the various areas for sitting, sipping and gathering as well as the Curio Card process. They even had a small but really intriguing menu of various snacks, from charcuterie to flatbread and even dessert. The menu changes a couple times a month, making me want to plan more visits! The staff offered me sips of each so I could decide on a Sangria flavor. Despite not being a Moscato fan, I chose the Moscato Mule Sangria. It was light, refreshing and had the Moscow Mule flavors with the added sweetness of Moscato wine. I wandered into the cellar to explore more wine offerings and wound up running into fellow educators and their friends I had never met. We were seated promptly, no awkward hovering, and our waitress showed up friendly, sharp, and knowing her way around the menu--which is a quality that ought to be listed right next to "clean silverware." We started with the crab and corn chowder, and let me say this right now: the crab was not there for decoration. It announced itself. Big flavor, no apologies, the way crab chowder ought to be. Second round was the smoked salmon salad. Perfect. The salmon was excellent, but that tarragon caper dressing had a way of making you slow down and think about life choices. I would put that dressing on just about anything that didn't move fast enough. For the main event, I chose the scallops, and I am prepared to testify they were as good as any I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, sitting pretty with an aioli that knew its job and did it well. My wife ordered the beef medallions, and I'll admit this with humility: looking back, I may have chosen wrong. Those medallions were expertly prepared and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you reconsider your own plate. We finished with cheesecake and berries. The cheesecake did its part. The berries... well, not every inning is a home run. Fortunately, the wine stepped in like a good relief pitcher and made everything right again. Through it all, the service never slipped. We were treated the way folks ought to be treated when they go out to celebrate something that matters. And that, in my book, counts just as much as what's on the plate.
