We will definitely be back and I will ask for Sam specifically.

The restaurant is not huge and they have managed to get a good number of tables which as you walk through the restaurant can feel a bit cramped. When seated it doesn't feel as crowded even though the tables are close together. It is more of a challenge for the servers to navigate. The restaurant has a rustic atmosphere with exposed brick and wood. There is not much room inside if you are waiting to be seated and they will maintain a waitlist for seats at the bar. I do like that the people working the host stand will take a drink order and a server will bring your drinks while you are waiting and that will be added to your table bill so no need to worry about paying separately for the drinks. The food is very good but most entrees are a-la-carte. Prices are high but not outrageous for quality steak cuts. The wine list is extensive but most of the bottle prices are very high. There are wines available by the glass.

Upon entering, I informed the hostess that I had a reservation, and I was then escorted to my table. Shortly thereafter, Trevor came over to introduce himself. I advised him that Merlot is my preferred wine, and he graciously showed me the available Merlot selections. I chose a half-bottle of Duckhorn. For my meal, Trevor recommended the steak and the soup. Both were delicious. The soup was excellent, and the mashed potatoes were clearly homemade, which was a nice touch. My only disappointment was that the steak was heavily charred--almost blackened. I was also surprised that the entrée was not accompanied by a vegetable. Despite those minor shortcomings, the meal was delicious, and Trevor provided excellent service throughout the evening. In fact, I suspect that because of the overly charred steak, the restaurant generously comped my coffee, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, this was a very enjoyable dining experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and Trevor's knowledge and attentiveness contributed significantly to my positive experience.

Disappointing Experience…read more A group of friends and I recently visited Rivers and Speakeasy because I was considering renting the venue for a private party. After experiencing the service firsthand, I'm very glad I checked it out before making any plans. The waitress was nice, but the service was extremely slow. From the moment we arrived, we waited a long time just to be greeted, and then waited even longer to order and receive drinks. When our friends arrived, they experienced the same thing. They waited so long that they eventually went to the bar to try to get drinks, only to be told that they had to order through their server. The problem is, when the server isn't around and you've already been waiting, what are you supposed to do? Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us either. I personally did not find it appetizing, and overall, the experience was not what I expected. I'm actually glad I visited before considering hosting a party there because, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable renting the venue for an event. If you don't mind waiting a very long time for drinks, food, or basic service, you may have a different experience. But for our group, the service moved at a "molasses" pace, and I would not recommend it based on our visit.

Today's venue of choice was a place called Rivers End, which sounds like either a cocktail bar or a warning label, depending on how your day's going. It starts off a little funny because you have to figure out the right door, then march yourself up the stairs like you're reporting for duty. Once you get up there, though, it feels like the kind of cool old place that's seen some things. You can almost feel the years rolling by, from Caribbean rum days to whiskey nights to the modern era of "smart cocktails," where they put things like herbs and intentions in your drink. The vibe was right. Cocktails were great--strong enough to matter, smooth enough not to apologize for. The food was excellent across the board, the kind that makes you stop talking for a minute so you can do some serious fork work. Most important, our waiter Shane was dead on the mark: there when you needed him, gone when you didn't, and never once tried to explain the menu like we'd just landed from Ohio for the first time. I can't find a single thing to complain about, which for me is almost a complaint in itself. Good value, good food, and a good scene--about all you can ask from an afternoon you're not spending at work. Next visit will be brunch, and I hope it's soon. Oh, and I did have the tostadas, but I got so excited by the smell I forgot to take a picture. Lewis would've understood. Some things are meant to be eaten, not photographed

The wait staff you pretty much have to harass to get water or ketchup or a drink or a napkin or a plate because you have a shareable dish or literally anything. Luckily the food tasted good, but sadly the way it came out was also ridiculous. We ordered a pizza and a sub. The pizza came out first then literally 25mins later, when everyone else had finished eating, my sub arrived at the table. The kids burger is pitiful, but fine. The drinks are strong so that's a plus! I had the sky-tini and an espresso martini both were strong and tasted fine overall. The rooftop is a vibe and I think if you just went to have drinks it'd be great to sit up there and vibe with the good music at the bar. Sitting at a table, I just wouldn't recommend.

It has a great rustic feel with a multi-level bar back and high and low seating. Our waiter, James, was great. It was our first time and we made it right before happy hour ended and grabbed loaded tots and drinks. The tots were amazing and the drinks were fantastic. My wife grabbed the Newton Cosmo, which, while delicious, was too sweet for her, and James took it back and got her a mint julep instead for no charge. For dinner she had the Caesar wedge salad with a rare steak, I had the Ramsay Bolton burger. Both delicious and portions are incredible, especially for the price. Also asked James for a bourbon flight after dinner. He listened to what bourbons I had tried before and promptly recommended a flight and how to go about tasting it. We will definitely return and recommend Rebellion to all of our friends.

I had just come from a hair appointment down the street and on my way back to my car, I noticed Sangria advertised on the mini sandwich board outside. I'm a HUGE fan of a glass of fruity Sangria on a hot day! The fact that it was Happy Hour with $5 glasses made it even easier to draw me inside!! When I explained this was my first visit, they explained the Curio concept, the various areas for sitting, sipping and gathering as well as the Curio Card process. They even had a small but really intriguing menu of various snacks, from charcuterie to flatbread and even dessert. The menu changes a couple times a month, making me want to plan more visits! The staff offered me sips of each so I could decide on a Sangria flavor. Despite not being a Moscato fan, I chose the Moscato Mule Sangria. It was light, refreshing and had the Moscow Mule flavors with the added sweetness of Moscato wine. I wandered into the cellar to explore more wine offerings and wound up running into fellow educators and their friends I had never met. We chatted like we were catching up and laughed about shared birthdays and teaching!! They invited me to hang with them, but I had to get home for Dog Mom Duty. We exchanged numbers so we could plan another "run-in" downtown SOON! If you haven't visited Curio, I HIGHLY recommend it. Bring a friend, or plan on making a few. We were seated promptly, no awkward hovering, and our waitress showed up friendly, sharp, and knowing her way around the menu--which is a quality that ought to be listed right next to "clean silverware." We started with the crab and corn chowder, and let me say this right now: the crab was not there for decoration. It announced itself. Big flavor, no apologies, the way crab chowder ought to be. Second round was the smoked salmon salad. Perfect. The salmon was excellent, but that tarragon caper dressing had a way of making you slow down and think about life choices. I would put that dressing on just about anything that didn't move fast enough. For the main event, I chose the scallops, and I am prepared to testify they were as good as any I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, sitting pretty with an aioli that knew its job and did it well. My wife ordered the beef medallions, and I'll admit this with humility: looking back, I may have chosen wrong. Those medallions were expertly prepared and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you reconsider your own plate. We finished with cheesecake and berries. The cheesecake did its part. The berries... well, not every inning is a home run. Fortunately, the wine stepped in like a good relief pitcher and made everything right again. Through it all, the service never slipped. We were treated the way folks ought to be treated when they go out to celebrate something that matters. And that, in my book, counts just as much as what's on the plate. Sorry for the lack of pictures the food and wine kept my attention

There was so much love in the way he gestured to his daughter who was at the register, and referred to his wife in the kitchen. Quite a wholesome vibe. Everything was delicious, - a fantastic Mother's Day feast to share with my family at home. I look forward to dining in at some point, given the willingness of Kumar to customize a vegan meal.
