The food was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely go back. The atmosphere was rather bright so I don't know that I'd recommend it for a romantic dinner. There was a large group of noisy children running around during most of our dinner, which was not pleasant. It was a relief when they left and we were able to peacefully finish our meal without kids running by our table and screaming. I thought maybe they we're celebrating some special occasion and that it might be an unusual occurrence. Another large group of kids came in while we were leaving. Again, this may have been an unusual occurance and I will give the restaurant another chance because the food was truly worth giving it another try. Starting with the tortilla chips and salsa brought to us when we first sat down we were impressed. I'm not sure if the tortillas we're homemade but they were warm and delicious. That salsa was definitely homemade and had a nice "bite" that wasn't overpowering. My daughter and I got the steak (Platillo Salvadoreno) and my husband got the Grilled Salmon. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Carne Asada was so tender you could practically cut it with a fork. The rice and beans were tasty and nicely spiced, and the salad was a cool, refreshing addition. Also included we're two homemade tortillas, which we're outstanding. The Salmon was fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The mango salsa was a perfect addition to the seasonings on the salmon. His dish also came with the delicious salad and tortillas. My husband said it was THE best salmon he's ever had, and that's saying something because he almost always orders salmon when we go out (unless it's lunch time or we're going to a sandwich shop). From a couples and adult diners' perspective, I'd love to see the lights turned down some and maybe some tablecloths and candles on the tables. I believe that would attract more of an adult after work or weekend crowd. We did go on a Sunday night to celebrate my birthday and probably Sunday nights aren't the best to assess the number of patrons, but it was just us and the people with the large group of kids who were there. If I could make a couple of suggestions, noticeable signs on Plank Rd would be helpful. We had a terribly difficult time trying to find the restaurant at night. I'm so glad we discovered this little gem tucked away in one of the strip malls along Plank Rd. Their prices were reasonable. I got the impression that this restaurant may be somewhat new and a family owned establishment, and I wonder if our waitress was one of the owners. She was an absolute joy and seemed to take tremendous pride in their menu and service. We'll certainly return, though I do hope the owners will consider my suggestions, which are all given in a heartfelt, genuine way. read more
