Didn't include sweet and sour sauce in lg chicken order. Then I called and the boy said the manager would call. That never happened. So I called today and explained all the issues including the lack of communication and problem with the order. The bag was not stapled which it usually is when I pick up an order. I asked the boy and he just stared at me. The bag was sitting on a crate in the corner open and When I got home the order was cold, it was cold outside too and even though I closed it best I could order was still cold. The manager today said she would redo the chicken for me and I said with the other issues will you comp this 1 other item for me, not very expensive and usually my order has a lot more than what I was even asking for. My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks. Price: $18.65 or $.35/oz is higher than average for Chittenden County. Portion: 3.6 lbs between the two meals is less than average. Pros: High traffic convenient location in downtown Burlington Ten minute turnaround from order to pickup. Tasty egg-roll with crispy shell Sesame Chicken had good flavor Cons: The yellow pork fried rice was a bit dry and lacked flavor. They wouldn't allow us to swap an egg-roll appetizer for beef teriyaki sticks. Rather, they allowed an egg-roll swap for chicken teriyaki sticks instead (odd). They're still using older, smaller takeout containers which most Chinese takeouts have transitioned away from. They didn't provide utensils, napkins, soy sauce packets, duck sauce packets, or fortune cookies. I ordered egg drop soup and it was extremely thick to the point that it was like cold grease/jello. The rice was on the drier side and the sesame chicken was edible. I hope there was 0 star. Man I don't even understand why and how does such a restaurant would exist at a city's downtown. I will never ever ever go there again. I was there in Feb. 2022, when Covid was still around and there was no one dining in, which is GOOD. But there was such an extremely pungent odor of cheap tobacco. It still lingers on my mask the day after, even when I was just in there for like 3 minutes for a pickup. The food, is bad too. The sauce of the kung pao chicken was bland, the ingredients were not fresh either. You can sense that stale taste from the first bite. The beef Chow Fun was stiff, it was not even the authentic type of noodle, I think it was Vietnamese Pho. Im not sure why the ratings for this establishment are so low. I stopped by (not expecting it to be good because of the reviews) and picked up hot and sour soup and a bunch of shrimp fried rice. The ingredients were fresh and the quality of the food was great. If you want Chinese takeout, this is Chinese takeout. The person who took my order was really helpful and went out of her way to call me back to tell me I had ordered something that had pork in it since I had told her about my dietary restrictions. I went back to address it, really only wanting them to admit it. They advertised me something different than what they sold. They refused to admit it instead blaming supply chain availability saying that's got it has been for months.. as if I'm supposed to be aware that definitive chow fun has been redefined. There is more to Fuda than its inexpensive, fast Chinese takeout facade. The corner location on Pearl and Winooski is amazing convienent for quickly running in and out. The staff (read: owners) are always happy and very friendly. They are genuinely interested in their customers. It is always a pleasure to see them when placing or picking orders. The food is prepared quickly and to order. It usually takes less than 15 minutes and I've never had a wrong order. The portion sizes are always large - I highly recommend the crab rangoons! The dining area isn't anything to write home about so I would stick with take out orders if you're looking for ambiance. Be sure to check out the large fish tank in the corner for the amazing giant goldfish! Fuda is, hands down, my favorite Chinese restaurant in Burlington. Be sure to check them out! read more

Great tofu and for cheap! It is what it is- cheap Chinese food. I normally go with general tso's, without vegetables. The veggies are kind of crappy ones anyways, and that way you get more tofu! I've ordered here before and was positively surprised based on the previous reviews. This is your cheap, delicious dive around the corner. But when I went in today, the people preparing the food weren't wearing masks. I asked if this was business as usual, and they said yes. The response was that they don't come to the front. My major concern also goes beyond regular precautions. The person taking orders and handling cards and cash went into the back and promptly put lids on orders and packaged rice boxes. I've been eating Chinese food for 60 years in multiple states...this restaurant wins the award for the absolute worst Chinese food across the board!! Sadly I can't think of one redeeming thing about this restaurant. We ordered six classic Chinese dishes that any Chinese restaurant could prepare correctly...all of them were awful! Strange ingredients...loaded with huge cubes of onion to take up space. The sesame chicken was way too sweet (sweet/sour sweet). The dishes were dry with no sauce. Chicken wings were burned to the bones. House special soup was yellow with only chicken...it was supposed to contain pork and shrimp too. The egg rolls were filled with 100% grey cabbage...very nasty. Our house special Lomein was burned with a charcoal after taste. The shrimp with lobster was gelatinous, almost a solid chunk when we opened the container. We had six people eating but ended up with too much food because everyone took one bite and said yuck! my girl and I moved up in December. We did not know the area very well and wanted to grab something to eat when we discovered this little place. It seems to be family run like most family Chinese restaurants are for take out. Since then I have had there poo poo platter and their boneless spare ribs. The staff seem to be pretty pleasant though often times you can hear bickering in the kitchen. Food is fair for the price sometimes the flavor is really good and sometimes just okay. My only gripe with them is Their deep fried food can be a oily too oily and their public restrooms actually need to be cleaned as it can be quite gross but if they can take care of both of these issues I would have no problem giving them a 4 out of five stars. read more

Hands down, I don't know why I even try other places. If you want a real Chinese take-out place then you NEED to order from Fuda. The egg rolls are flavorful and a good ratio of meat and veggies. So far not a single main item on the menu has disappointed me from the Orange Chicken to General Tso's to the Moo Shu etc. Often knowing how well they execute flavor I order new things that I've never tried and it always turns out great! Some people might diss the interior and think it's dirty but if they do then they don't understand that the best Chinese food hides in secret hole-in-the-wall places. If you're from out of state and are looking for Chinese "like back home" then this is probably the closest you'll find in Vermont. I'm from a big city and it's been tough to find a place similar to what I'm used to getting. I used to go to FuDa when I was in college once a week or so. Then, I moved away for a couple years, and now I'm back in town with a new job. They changed a couple of things: -Changed to microwave-safe plastic containers -Changed the pork fried rice to be less greasy (tastier the new way) -Egg rolls slightly different -Freshened up the fish tank! This is the go-to place for quick, cheap Chinese food in downtown Burlington. I've been to Fuda for takeout several times and never once had an issue. Taken within the context of other Chinese restaurants, the food is average to above-average, especially for the price. The staff is extremely friendly and nice, often throwing in free canned drinks with a large order. The woman at the front remembers her customers and always makes you feel welcomed. The dining experience at Fuda is like a mall Chinese restaurant, just without the mall. The dining area is very small and only serves as a place for you to eat your takeout order. This is not the place to go if you want the traditional restaurant experience. This place gets 5 stars for what it is - Chinese takeout! Is it gourmet, most delicious food I've ever eaten in my life? No, but it is EXTREMELY yummy Chinese food, perfect to take home and eat on my couch in my comfy clothes! I was really looking forward to a nice evening with Chinese food and a movie. Instead, I was left wondering where my sweet/sour shrimp was until I discovered that the shrimp was fried in giant rings with excessive amounts of breading. If I wanted fried dough I would have ordered that instead. I also ordered an egg roll, and it too was more wrapper than filling. I only ate half of it before becoming so disgusted I gave up.
