Didn't include sweet and sour sauce in lg chicken order. Then I called and the boy said the manager would call. That never happened. So I called today and explained all the issues including the lack of communication and problem with the order. The bag was not stapled which it usually is when I pick up an order. I asked the boy and he just stared at me. The bag was sitting on a crate in the corner open and When I got home the order was cold, it was cold outside too and even though I closed it best I could order was still cold. The manager today said she would redo the chicken for me and I said with the other issues will you comp this 1 other item for me, not very expensive and usually my order has a lot more than what I was even asking for. I went to business school and this is not how you treat years long customers who would continue to give return revenue. Very silly. read more

I'm obsessed. Cheap but not too cheap that it is suspicious. And sooo so yummy. Get the pan fried dumplings!!!!! The girls who work out front are really nice, too. One is really shy and the other is probably not shy enough in some people's opinions. Both really great, though. And always remember who I am and don't give my food to random people if I want to run somewhere else downtown while they make my order. Great stuff. read more

Good food. Friendly service. But parking is a b*tch... Aggravating. They don't have a parking lot. Street parking is difficult. Parameters at $1.50/hr. Or parking garage. Good, but not 'that' good. read more

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks. Price: $18.65 or $.35/oz is higher than average for Chittenden County. Portion: 3.6 lbs between the two meals is less than average. Pros: High traffic convenient location in downtown Burlington Ten minute turnaround from order to pickup. Tasty egg-roll with crispy shell Sesame Chicken had good flavor Cons: The yellow pork fried rice was a bit dry and lacked flavor. They wouldn't allow us to swap an egg-roll appetizer for beef teriyaki sticks. Rather, they allowed an egg-roll swap for chicken teriyaki sticks instead (odd). They're still using older, smaller takeout containers which most Chinese takeouts have transitioned away from. They didn't provide utensils, napkins, soy sauce packets, duck sauce packets, or fortune cookies. Impression: Convenient location in downtown Burlington offering less than generous portion size with mixed review on flavor depending on the food item, earning Fu Da's a 2.5 star review. read more

Fuda - Chicken sesame combination meal with pork fried rice plus a chicken and broccoli combination meal with pork fried rice. - Chinese Near Me - Burlington, Vermont

See all

I ordered egg drop soup and it was extremely thick to the point that it was like cold grease/jello. The rice was on the drier side and the sesame chicken was edible. Extremely disgusted and disappointed I wasted my money and was still hungry. The inside is run down and near empty. The staff in the front weren't friendly but they weren't rude. I don't care how places look or the staff but the food was the works Chinese food i've ever had. Do not recommend read more

I hope there was 0 star. Man I don't even understand why and how does such a restaurant would exist at a city's downtown. I will never ever ever go there again. I was there in Feb. 2022, when Covid was still around and there was no one dining in, which is GOOD. But there was such an extremely pungent odor of cheap tobacco. It still lingers on my mask the day after, even when I was just in there for like 3 minutes for a pickup. The food, is bad too. The sauce of the kung pao chicken was bland, the ingredients were not fresh either. You can sense that stale taste from the first bite. The beef Chow Fun was stiff, it was not even the authentic type of noodle, I think it was Vietnamese Pho. The sauce was bland too, it didn't bring up any aroma of the ingredients which is essential in Chow Fun. I tossed both dishes in the trash can after one bite. Will never visit again. read more

The garlic chicken combo was very good but the cold noodles with sesame sauce were very bland and super sweet. Great service though.

Best Chinese restaurant in Burlington. But they get my orders wrong latly. I think they hired a new chef. I find things i asked not to be in it. I asked for no mushrooms and i find mushrooms in it later. I asked for no broccoli and i find it in it. I ask for no Carrots. What do they do? They put in bigger chunks of carrots that should not be that size. No tables anymore. read more

Food is great and the customer service is fantastic! Good variety of meals and very good for value.

It is average at best, if you go in and order... if you order on-line, they pay no attention to what you input.... no hot sauce, no duck sauce, no upgrading to spicy... they have boxes to put in your wishes, but they are ignored. The food is good and fresh, but you can't get it your way. read more

The food is always fast, hot, and fresh. I love it. The lunch price is unbeatable! Highly recommend- The only downside is paid parkin

yummy. i love how you can get i think 8 crab rangoon for $5. yummy. large for no reason and empty. when they are a little too busy i play with the fish and they are cute, surprised you didnt cook it (jk...). the sesame chicken didnt have much sesame and WAY too much sauce which made me lose my appetite. overall nice read more

Im not sure why the ratings for this establishment are so low. I stopped by (not expecting it to be good because of the reviews) and picked up hot and sour soup and a bunch of shrimp fried rice. The ingredients were fresh and the quality of the food was great. If you want Chinese takeout, this is Chinese takeout. The person who took my order was really helpful and went out of her way to call me back to tell me I had ordered something that had pork in it since I had told her about my dietary restrictions. I had no issues with my order and will order again when I am in the area. read more

Eye roll. I understand supply chain issues are a thing post Covid, but don't try to tell me Thai rice noodles are the same as chow fun. I went back to address it, really only wanting them to admit it. They advertised me something different than what they sold. They refused to admit it instead blaming supply chain availability saying that's got it has been for months.. as if I'm supposed to be aware that definitive chow fun has been redefined. I get it, stuff isn't available, but you can still be honest about it up front. Besides the chow fun being 80% Thai rice noodles, it was under cooked and the 20% chow fun noodles were clumped together in a glob. They offered to remake it and refund my order, all I really wanted was some honesty. They would not admit it. . read more

There is more to Fuda than its inexpensive, fast Chinese takeout facade. The corner location on Pearl and Winooski is amazing convienent for quickly running in and out. The staff (read: owners) are always happy and very friendly. They are genuinely interested in their customers. It is always a pleasure to see them when placing or picking orders. The food is prepared quickly and to order. It usually takes less than 15 minutes and I've never had a wrong order. The portion sizes are always large - I highly recommend the crab rangoons! The dining area isn't anything to write home about so I would stick with take out orders if you're looking for ambiance. Be sure to check out the large fish tank in the corner for the amazing giant goldfish! Fuda is, hands down, my favorite Chinese restaurant in Burlington. Be sure to check them out! read more

Great tofu and for cheap! It is what it is- cheap Chinese food. I normally go with general tso's, without vegetables. The veggies are kind of crappy ones anyways, and that way you get more tofu! Spring rolls are pretty good too. Nice option for a quick, inexpensive meal. Definitely food that you get to-go though. read more

Fast courteous service, good selection, and the best pork lo mein and General Tso's Chicken in town!

I've ordered here before and was positively surprised based on the previous reviews. This is your cheap, delicious dive around the corner. But when I went in today, the people preparing the food weren't wearing masks. I asked if this was business as usual, and they said yes. The response was that they don't come to the front. My major concern also goes beyond regular precautions. The person taking orders and handling cards and cash went into the back and promptly put lids on orders and packaged rice boxes. At a time like this, it's time to heed Dr. Fauci's warnings, and be extra cautious! Otherwise, I would be ordering here regularly. read more

I actually feel ripped off that I am forced to give this business one star! I've been eating Chinese food for 60 years in multiple states...this restaurant wins the award for the absolute worst Chinese food across the board!! Sadly I can't think of one redeeming thing about this restaurant. We ordered six classic Chinese dishes that any Chinese restaurant could prepare correctly...all of them were awful! Strange ingredients...loaded with huge cubes of onion to take up space. The sesame chicken was way too sweet (sweet/sour sweet). The dishes were dry with no sauce. Chicken wings were burned to the bones. House special soup was yellow with only chicken...it was supposed to contain pork and shrimp too. The egg rolls were filled with 100% grey cabbage...very nasty. Our house special Lomein was burned with a charcoal after taste. The shrimp with lobster was gelatinous, almost a solid chunk when we opened the container. We had six people eating but ended up with too much food because everyone took one bite and said yuck! We had peanut butter sandwiches for dinner tonight!! Don't waste your time and money! read more

my girl and I moved up in December. We did not know the area very well and wanted to grab something to eat when we discovered this little place. It seems to be family run like most family Chinese restaurants are for take out. Since then I have had there poo poo platter and their boneless spare ribs. The staff seem to be pretty pleasant though often times you can hear bickering in the kitchen. Food is fair for the price sometimes the flavor is really good and sometimes just okay. My only gripe with them is Their deep fried food can be a oily too oily and their public restrooms actually need to be cleaned as it can be quite gross but if they can take care of both of these issues I would have no problem giving them a 4 out of five stars. read more

I found a feather in my chicken place smells like smoke and waited for a long time to get my food 1/5

Really kind people and good food. The place itself isn't the fanciest but if you're doing pick up it doesn't matter much anyway.

I used to go to FuDa when I was in college once a week or so. Then, I moved away for a couple years, and now I'm back in town with a new job. They changed a couple of things: -Changed to microwave-safe plastic containers -Changed the pork fried rice to be less greasy (tastier the new way) -Egg rolls slightly different -Freshened up the fish tank! Still delicious, still affordable, still great staff, still clean. read more

Fuda is cheap Chinese at it's best. You get what you pay for, good portion sizes of fairly greasy food oozing with MSG and salt. It is amazing for late night take out or a quick easy meal. read more

This is the go-to place for quick, cheap Chinese food in downtown Burlington. I've been to Fuda for takeout several times and never once had an issue. Taken within the context of other Chinese restaurants, the food is average to above-average, especially for the price. The staff is extremely friendly and nice, often throwing in free canned drinks with a large order. The woman at the front remembers her customers and always makes you feel welcomed. The dining experience at Fuda is like a mall Chinese restaurant, just without the mall. The dining area is very small and only serves as a place for you to eat your takeout order. This is not the place to go if you want the traditional restaurant experience. All in all if you're looking for a quick, cheap meal and are in the mood for Chinese takeout, there is NO better place in Burlington than Fuda. read more

This place gets 5 stars for what it is - Chinese takeout! Is it gourmet, most delicious food I've ever eaten in my life? No, but it is EXTREMELY yummy Chinese food, perfect to take home and eat on my couch in my comfy clothes! I've had the general tsos tofu and the chicken almond ding, both super yummy (although the chicken almond ding actually had cashews instead of almonds...) The egg rolls are also good - nice and crispy, not soggy. I always do pickup through EatStreet - you can get great coupons and rewards this way. The food is always done super fast. read more

Pluses: -the lady at the counter was nice -good prices -huge portions -convenient location -online ordering Minuses: -they messed up my order -inside the "restaurant" is the most depressing place I've been in my life -nothing I got was anything I would ever put in my mouth again read more

Not bad, not great either, but the friendly service makes up for what's otherwise a very typical chinese food experience. Eat it when it's fresh and you're much better off. read more

This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I wasted $18 on chicken lo mein and cashew chicken. Both went in the trash. What a waste.

Hands down, I don't know why I even try other places. If you want a real Chinese take-out place then you NEED to order from Fuda. The egg rolls are flavorful and a good ratio of meat and veggies. So far not a single main item on the menu has disappointed me from the Orange Chicken to General Tso's to the Moo Shu etc. Often knowing how well they execute flavor I order new things that I've never tried and it always turns out great! Some people might diss the interior and think it's dirty but if they do then they don't understand that the best Chinese food hides in secret hole-in-the-wall places. If you're from out of state and are looking for Chinese "like back home" then this is probably the closest you'll find in Vermont. I'm from a big city and it's been tough to find a place similar to what I'm used to getting. Definitely don't dine-in but order lots because the prices are spot on for Chinese take-out and super affordable as it should be! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. read more

Ordered several items from here. Crab rangoons, beef and brocoli, generals chicken, fried rice and chicken fingers. Tried it and threw all the fu-da out. Was not impressed by the quality of their food. I would prefer China Express over this...and that's sad. read more

Great, cheap food! Usually very fast and consistently tasty. Large portion sizes always fill you up and they have several cheap add-ons like the excellent pork egg rolls and soups. Not the highest quality ingredients, but what can you expect with a lunch combo running under $5? Plus you can order online, which makes it much easier to place large orders and get them right! read more

Very typical Chinese food. You can order via the yelp app and pick up in store. The restaurant itself smalls of cigarettes and is pretty out dated. Honestly, you come for the prices and convenience. If you want a step it up, try East West Café across the way. read more

What can I say? Its cheap, its good for what it is, its fast. I only order what I know and that is the hot and sour soup and stir fry rice. the family orders other stuff and say its okay but not great. You get what you pay for and that's it. read more

Not only did they completely mess up my order but upon calling them to ask what happened they told me I ordered the wrong items not that they gave me the wrong order. I ended up getting a box of uncooked soggy vegetables and a order of dumping that I specified to not have meet full or pork. They don't even deserve the one star. read more

Good value for your money. Food is great if you're looking for some classic quick cheap Chinese food. I'll go back again next time I'm in the Burlington area. Not too much more to say! Great location and pretty easy to access. Not much in the way of places to dine inside, so takeout is the way to go. read more

i've been to fuda multiple times. this is cheap prices so you are not going to get extra ordinary food. TAKE OUT is the way to go, dine inside only if its to cold outside. The food is always consistent, it's worth the money that you pay. I've never seen them wear hair nets, at the same time I've never had any hair in my food. I've eaten here and its basic cheap but not horrible. SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHINA EXPRESS ON NORTH STREET. read more

I was really looking forward to a nice evening with Chinese food and a movie. Instead, I was left wondering where my sweet/sour shrimp was until I discovered that the shrimp was fried in giant rings with excessive amounts of breading. If I wanted fried dough I would have ordered that instead. I also ordered an egg roll, and it too was more wrapper than filling. I only ate half of it before becoming so disgusted I gave up. The only thing in my order that I could finish was the steamed rice. Overall the quality was awful and not worth what I paid for. read more

Food was over cooked ,not good at all. I used to love eating here, but the last 4 food tasted bad , rice over cooked oil taste .No more eating there. read more
