Not a fan of Chinese fan per se, but I really liked Hung Tao!!! We ordered xmas night as we were on vacation, knew many things would be closed and searched out in advance for Chinese places there were open (my kids really wanted). They were slammed! Our food took 45 minutes for take out, but as we were waiting the wait went up to 2 hours. We ordered what seemed like a lot of food, but was only $60 or so. I highly recommend if you are searching for some good Chinese food!!!! read more

I love this place. the food is great and is always ready when you get there. Wonderful family business

Service was quick the amount of food was a decent amount. I got the beef fried rice and they gave me chicken which felt undercooked. The pork boneless ribs are mostly fat and chewy and the crab rangoon felt a very weird consistency. The food overall was not horrible but for specific items there are mistakes causing me to be concerned about if I should be eating this meat or not. read more

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and teriyaki sticks. Price: On the lower end at $18.32. Portion: 4.2 lbs between the two meals is exactly what we expected from restaurants using the newer takeout containers. Pros: The pork fried rice which had bits of pork and sauteed onion was flavorful and moist. Frankly, it's the most delicious pork fried rice we've tried thus far. Cons: The egg role was slightly under cooked and didn't have a crisp shell. Impression: The pork fried rice is delicious and stands out as a distinctive among the 10 or so Chinese takeouts we've tried in Chittenden County. Good food at an affordable price. Good curb appeal. Overall positive experience giving this restaurant our first four-star rating. read more

We got the teriyaki chicken (amazing), sesame chicken with pork fried rice combo (pretty good!), and some egg rolls and crab rangoons (huge egg rolls - rangoons were just okay). This place is a takeout only place, I didn't see any tables inside. Food was fresh, hot, and packaged well so it didn't leak everywhere. We'll have to come here again, definitely one of the better Chinese takeout spots in the area. read more

We had 3 combos General Tso, moo goo gai pan and Beef with vegetables. All very good, a little skimpy on the beef. Also has a beef Lo Mein. I added photos of the menu with current prices and a full page of both sides of the menu. read more

Always great food! Take out only. Best in Burlington. Food ready minutes sooner then quoted on phone. read more

The food was so bland.... Chicken so dry.... Pork fried rice lacked heart and ethnicity. No color to the rice at all. No flavor. Chicken on sticks were soaked in i don't know what (cost and extra $3). 10/10 WOULD NEVER RETURN. Save your money. Go to Volcano down the street! read more

Great authentic Chinese food. Great price. Even faster service. I've been coming to this restaurant for 12+ years. I usually go with the combo because it comes with a choice of rice and one appetizer. Don't forget to get their wings and beef teriyaki sticks!! read more

I despaired of ever finding good takeout Chinese in Burlington. But man. Hung Tao. What a lucky accidental find. Based on the one appetizer and two main dishes we tried, portions seem enormously generous. We have five meals out of less than $30 worth of food, and it would have been six if we hadn't so enthusiastically stuffed our faces with those dumplings. Each item was a superlative of its dish. The fried pork dumplings (surely the most important item on the menu) are huge and have a perfect dumpling texture. The moo shu vegetables are cooked to within an inch of their lives, but marvelously flavorful. The General Tso's chicken has great flavor, just the right amount of sauce, and strikes the perfect breaded-Chinese-chicken-dish texture. Here on out, this will absolutely be our go-to Chinese takeout place. read more

Hung Tao does not get five stars from us today because it's inspirational, creative, or incredibly authentic. It gets five stars because it's really good at being what it is: standard American Chinese take out. We got Kung Pao tofu and broccoli with garlic sauce (I'm vegetarian) and it's just really.... good. It's a really well done version of Chinese takeout. Will definitely be going again. read more

Have no idea what these great reviews are for , went on those yelp reviews that said otherwise, from ordering to pick up to actually eating it ..... all unpleasant Kung Pao chicken .... it's supposed to be spicy (it even has a spicy red pepper next to it on the menu ??? Just like other places where it's actually spicy !) Beef Lo Mein .... what's the first word in it ?? Beef? Totally can't find any Same with the pork fried rice , it's barely fried ....and it should have pork in it From customer service to the total lack of quality in the food .... STAY AWAY read more

if you're in the tofu dishes, I think this place perfected the crispy texture and sauce. thoroughly enjoyed this place, will return.

I ordered lo mein and spring rolls. Took about 6 minutes after ordering. Food tastes great and very reasonably priced. Awesome spot.

Somewhere, there's this play book for suburban Chinese take-out. I have no freaking idea if it is at all related to what Chinese food "should" be. I don't care. Hung Tao has changed hands over the years and yes, I still mourn the loss of their chicken-stuffed dumplings. But meanwhile, they run the table on the basics: excellent, EXCELLENT hot-and-sour soup. Tasty, tasty pork dumplings with a yum-o-la dipping sauce. The prices are great. The kitchen, yes, is open and completely visible. Nice, upbeat people. Y'all should get their food. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food! We tried takeout for the first time tonight: General Tso's chicken and szechuan pork. The chicken was very well-breaded (super crunchy) with a yummy sauce. We asked for it spicy and it was just kind of tingly. I guess next time we'll ask for it extra spicy. The pork was very very good with crisp, flavorful veggies (baby corn, celery, broccoli, carrot, onion, water chestnuts, and bok choy) and pork that looked and tasted and felt like pork! Which, if you've ever gotten bad Chinese takeout pork, you'll know is a rarity. We only ordered the two main dishes, but they threw in a large container of plain rice on the house. We are adding this to our list of go-to takeout restaurants for sure. read more

Nope. Nope. Nope. Rude service. And the cashier used her bare hands to plate our food without washing her hands. How do you go from touching money to touching food? She did this in plain sight so I cant imagine what happens when they think no one is looking. read more

There is no way to explain how much of a standard Chinese food takeout restaurant this is. It might be just me, but I feel like it's a 'cookie cutter' menu. Everything I've gotten here has tasted good- but I cannot justify more than three stars. read more

We used to go to another place on North St for Chinese food, but when we found Hung Tao, it has become our go to place. Big portions and such good crab ragoons! The priced are very reasonable. The kitchen is in open view and very clean, and the staff is all very nice. read more

I love getting some quick Chinese from Hung Tao. It's close by, they're fast, and their restaurant is always clean. They give great portions, so I always have leftovers for a day or two. I usually get the General Tso's or Sesame chicken, and I've never had a reason to complain. Their crab rangoon are my favorite in the area, for sure, same with the pork fried rice. To top it off, the prices are great for the portions you get. Definitely my go-to Chinese place. read more

We had the best food we have ever had from Hung Tao tonight. Their portions are also super generous so it is excellent value! We highly recommend the Pork Chow Fun (sp.?), the General Tsao's Chicken and the Beef with Broccoli. Give this place a try, you'll be sure to be satisfied and order from them again! The service is pretty fast too. Great neighborhood spot! read more

This is the worst I have ever eaten. You get a lot but there was no taste. They had spare ribs, chicken fingers and spring rolls all crammed into one small container. The dumplings had no taste. The crab ragoons were crispy on the sides and soaky in the middle. I will never order from there again. read more

Practically in edible. The food tasted of old burnt oil. Nearly all went into the garbage.

I don't normally eat Chinese food but I saw the reviews so I thought I'd give them a shot. I order the orange chicken my wife had beef lo mein and we tried crab Ragu owns. We love the food we will be back. This is not your average Chinese food restaurant. read more

Absolutely amazing. Have been a regular before this place was as well known as they are now. Food is always hot, always amazing. The employees are wonderful as well! read more

New owners and the food just tastes like any other run of the mill Chinese restaurant. Hopefully this is just the break in phase!

Good chicken with broccoli and rangoons. Also had pork fried rice. Fu Da's pork fried rice is better in my opinion but Hung Tao's isn't bad. Could use a little more pork in it though. read more

Great portions, great price, good food, and excellent service. Dining experience is clean, efficient, while being laid back all at once. I've been here well over 50x times with only one bad experience which I chalk up as an anomaly during one of my first visits. I love how I can get three combination meals for my family to eat that night and it cost just about $20. Now, the food isn't amazing. But it IS really good (fresh veggie crunch and fresh cooked rice). Don't overlook the specials as well! Solid 4 star rating. read more

I try Chinese food most everywhere I stop. Burlington was no different. Ordered take out of Kung Pao chicken, chicken and beef on a stick and an Egg roll. All were about par for a decent take out place. Nothing bad but nothing great. I asked for extra spicy but it was still a bit weak. I would go back for take out if I was staying here. read more

Unbelievably horrible Chinese take out. Since it was my first time eating here, I tried the basics: sesame chicken, spring roll, fried gyoza (dumplings), pork fried rice, and wonton soup. The sesame chicken was break-your-teeth hard and tasted old, probably from being par-fried and cold-stored then refried when orders roll in. The pork fried rice was made from mushy rice, onions, sparse cubes of old roast pork, and what seemed like a gallon of soy sauce. The gyoza were gummy and the sauce for the gyoza had no garlic, no rice wine vinegar, just a tiny splash of soy sauce. The wonton soup smelled like an old shoe. I opened the container but couldn't even eat it. The broth was so dark - I've never seen broth that dark. I can only venture to say it was mostly soy sauce. The spring roll was literally just shredded cabbage wrapped in rice paper. The only plus to the food was it was hot when it got to my door, but that's due to my DoorDasher being awesome. I will never eat anything from this restaurant ever again. read more

Probably the best cheap, cheerful Chinese takeout in the area. Similar in quality and quantity to "Chopstick House II" in Colchester.

Friendly service. Call ahead and ready for pick up quickly. Prices are great. Food is good.

Really good food. good portions. Being gluten free, I work with them to go through the menu, to make choices, and they made some adjustments. The prices are very reasonable. Dining area is very small. But many people pick up to take home. Best Chinese food around. read more

Kitchen was clean. Generals wasn't spicy and had small pieces of chicken and a good portion. Pork fried was okay. Crab ragoons were really good. Prices were good. Ive tried other Chinese takeout in the area (Yummy, Chopstick House II, and China Express) and Hung Tao is my favorite read more

The entrees are alright but the dumplings make up for any other shortcomings elsewhere. Also, they are super nice and the old lady there was hand making the dumplings. The hot and sour soup is good as well. My favorite Chinese place in town by a lot. read more

They said 20 minutes - it took 40. I ordered Chicken and Cashews, and there wasn't a single cashew in it.

The food was very good! I had to take a star away, however, because I didn't get one of the dishes I ordered...instead of chow mein they sent me off with some sort of lettuce dish? It was good, but not what I had ordered. Quite a few vegan options. read more

Coming from just outside of NYC to Burlington VT it is hard to find good Chinese in Burlington. Hung Tao has not failed to deliver in all the times i've ordered from them. Always hot and delicious, great flavor and pretty reasonably priced as well. The only negative thing i can say about this restaurant is that they do not accept credit cards for anything under $5. The limit can be a little annoying if you just want a few egg rolls or maybe a box of friend rice for lunch. read more

Simple, cheap, hot Chinese food. Can't really beat a full meal for around $6-$9 a plate. Nice helping of rice and good choice of sides - spareribs, chicken fingers, spring rolls, egg rolls, etc. read more

Gave me and my family kidney pain, not sure what that's about. Wouldn't recommend, food sucked, service sucked. 0/10
