He was honest, straight forward and hard working. When we would have a hiccup or something needed to change, he worked through solutions and was always reasonable. Again, honest, hard working and doesn't let things slip through the cracks - we highly recommend Cliff and Epic Remodeling.

Spoke to Tim on the phone about updating 4 bathrooms, redoing laundry room while adding a dog shower and mud room, adding custom builtins around fire place, and changing the stairs from carpet to hardwood now, then redoing kitchen while taking out a wall for next year. I was completely shocked and disgusted when he said he wouldn't take the job because he dosent think it would enough money. That he has a minimum of 40k to do a job. Then told me to give him a call next year when I have the more expensive job to do. Keep in mind, he didn't even come out to look at my house... which is 4000 finished square feet with 4 large full bathrooms with double sinks! I have received two other bids and we definitely would have met his "minimum". I also let him know, I would never hire him for my kitchen, way too arrogant to come into my home.

RECOMMENDATION FOR SOPRIS DEVELOPMENT…read more In December 2021, we lost our home and all its contents to the Marshall Fire in Boulder, Colorado. At age 77, facing this emotional event, insurance uncertainty, and the daunting prospect of rebuilding was overwhelming -- especially since we'd never planned to build a home. After exploring options, we chose to rebuild and were fortunate to work with John Stevens and Sopris Development. Sopris provided truly full-service support: lot remediation, design, permitting, vendor introductions, and construction. It is hard to imagine receiving better service from any other company! Concept and Design: We worked closely with John and his architect, describing what we liked about our former home and our future needs. Our goals included: - A home designed for "aging in place" -- one-level living with wider doors, halls, and shower entrances. - A modern design that still blends with the environment and preserves mountain views. - Features that balanced personal needs with future marketability. - Staying within our financial and insurance limits. Sopris delivered a design that met all these priorities, adding thoughtful features we hadn't considered. Preconstruction: Before building started, we selected everything -- appliances, flooring, fixtures, paint, etc. -- through Sopris's recommended vendors. This process ensured an accurate cost estimate, addressed supply chain concerns, and kept the project on schedule. The vendors were professional, offered great selections, and coordinated seamlessly (e.g., cabinet makers accounted for appliance sizes). Construction: Sopris's subcontractors and craftsmen were top-notch -- professional, skilled, and focused on quality. We especially appreciated having a dedicated project manager. Weekly on-site meetings kept us informed and allowed thoughtful adjustments (e.g., adding stair lights, extra outlets, etc.). Timing and Costs: Unlike some builder horror stories, our experience with Sopris was remarkably smooth. Many of our neighbors were told 15-24 months to completion by other builders; Sopris estimated 12 months and completed our home in 13. This was thanks to their planning, vendor relationships, and scheduling. Final costs came in under the original estimate, with minimal changes needed thanks to thorough up-front work. Insurance Support: Sopris's professional record-keeping and understanding of codes were invaluable in insurance matters. For instance, they successfully advocated for coverage of solar panels under our Ordinance and Law provision when initially denied. Sopris was more than a builder -- they were our advocate. One Year Later: We love our home. Any minor issues were promptly resolved. Thanks to Sopris, we have a beautiful, functional home where we can age in place, enjoy family and friends, and take in the surrounding beauty. We highly recommend Sopris Development. They know what they're doing and made the process enjoyable. Roger and Laura Bohart

As that time approached we looked at pre-existing homes and new home builders. We found Sopris and met with owner John Stevens. It didn't take us long to decide on Sopris. We were a bit nervous about building from several states away. Those concerns were unfounded. We decided on one of Sopris' existing floor plans but modified it substantially with John's help to meet our needs. Our home was finished on budget and on schedule. Craig T and Kurt C, two of John's employees worked with us every step of the way. They kept us informed, and on those rare occasions where issues did arise, they were quick to address them, in many cases beyond our expectations. We highly recommend the entire Sopris team.

I can't say enough good things about the process of working with Seth/Right Angle. We had a large…read moreproject (adding 400 square feet to our home, with a complete kitchen remodel) and Seth made it as pain free as possible. We have 4 small children and Seth was cognizant of our need for efficiency and safety along the way. He made a point to complete the project in a way that was minimally disruptive to our life. He cleaned up each day, and made a physical barrier when needed to ensure our kids could not get hurt in the new space. He also broke out the old tile floor when we were out of town for a week in order to minimize the impact (and noise) in our lives. When it came to issues that hindered the progress he was able to problem solve ways to keep things moving and get done as quickly as possible. He went out of his way to find a solution when we were told there would be a need for an obtrusive beam in place of a load bearing wall. He consulted several engineers to find a solution that was cheaper and much more aesthetically pleasing. He offered options and opinions along the way regarding materials to help bring my wife's vision to life in a cost effective way. He was great about keeping us informed, letting us know when he would be doing certain parts of the project and following through. He was also very responsive to our needs- responding after hours and researching in the evenings solutions to potential problems when necessary. He stands behind his work and is willing to fix any potential issues without hesitation. In the end we came in on budget and had a functional kitchen within the promised timeframe. We now have a much more functional house that connects to our garage, a large mudroom with custom made cubbies that are exactly what we wanted, and our kitchen is stunning! You can tell he loves his job, and cares about providing top quality work. We would recommend him to others, and already have.

We had Seth convert a space back to a garage and convert a poorly constructed tandem garage into an in-law ADU. Seth's patience in listening to our ideas and creativity in making our sticking point happen made us feel like we were truly part of the project and valued customers rather than another job. A special thank you to his crew, Zach and Kirk, who worked very well in some frustrating projects. We are extremely happy with our completed projects and will continue to emphatically recommend Seth to our friends and acquaintances.

We talked with several local builders and one in Denver, and the bid from BCH was the most comprehensive as it included real bids from subcontractors in detailed categories, rather than general buckets based on estimates that we received from other contractors. The first bids that came back with all of our wishes were over budget and we had to scale back a bit, and Derek was the first contractor to get us a bid within budget. Given that, the details his bid provided, and his approachable, honest personality we chose to got with BCH, and we are so happy we did! We've been in the house a year and a half now and it's everything we'd dreamed it would be and more. Building a home is a stressful process even in the best of circumstances and it's imperative to have a good contractor. BCH is the best!

Wes took a work description and hand sketches by us to provide a complete work estimate. With Wes' interpretation of our description he helped refine the work to develop a bid that was well within our expectation for cost and performance We selected CWHR because of the price and because he is a mountain area contractor with over 25 years' experience with mountain home construction. We had other bids for about the same price or more but some of these contractors were from down-the-hill. Wes was highly recommended by a friend who had used Wes and was completely satisfied with his CWHR's work. All aspects of the projects were performed well because of Wes' and his crew's flexibility, great attitude, and expertise. All aspects of remodeling were observed: rough & finish carpentry, exterior siding, plumbing, ventilation, electrical, hardwood flooring, floor & wall tiling, drywall and texturing, and insulation. We are very satisfied with the outcomes and glad we learned of CWHR. We recommend you give CWHR a chance to bring a fair price and great quality to your project. We highly recommend CWHR and Wes Hinds to everyone!

It was a very good experience. The Bunn & Sons crew is very cleanly. They clean up every day. We were given progress pictures every day. The online project schedule (5 months) was kept current, and while some things moved around a bit, as should be expected, the end date actually moved in. Creating a plan, a detailed plan for such a large project takes a great deal of work. It did not come free, but in our view, the old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds true. We wanted confidence in the estimate that was provided, and that is exactly what we got. This was a huge project for us, and we could not have Bunn & Sons coming back telling us that framing, plumbing, flooring, roofing, demolition, foundation concrete, electrical, etc would cost more than they estimated. The project was completed on budget, a week early and with excellent quality, and it looks like it was always part of the house rather than an addition that sticks out like a sore thumb. It does not get better than that. Before and after pictures, below.
