This Fry's location is always crowded but for good reason. They are well stocked, have fresh sushi, a deli, ginormous cheese and alcohol selection, large healthy/vegan section, and a good amount of household items. The employees here are friendly and always seem to be enjoying their job. Not going to lie.. I kind of miss the cold stone they use to have inside the entrance of the store. The guy that worked there was so pleasant and the ice cream was good. Now it is a credit loan place (i think). read more

I love this Fry's. The remodeling is beautifully done. To me it was amazing that it was accomplished so quickly. I have never met an employee who was not helpful. They have little pads of lists of products hanging at each aisle showing where most items can be found. I haven't any complaints about this Frys and I especially love the fact that many of the bag and cart boys have Downs syndrome. I went to Fry's on 90th today about 7:30 this morning, and encountered multiple areas where the shelves were not recently stocked, and items were not available! This has been a growing issue at this Fry's location for some time. Pasta, Tide detergent, and cottage cheese, were just a few of the items in short supply or not available, and there were ares where significant, product labeled areas on shelves were empty! Sadly, we live in a society where millions of healthy Americans are CHOOSING to remain outside the labor force. Apparently they would rather survive on the government dole than prosper on the merits of their own endeavors! It seems Fry's is always looking for workers, and I'm assuming that is part of their stocking problems! Also, their "service" desk is seldom open, and only one check out line was available! I finally made it here yesterday for the first time in forever, and boy, did I miss it. This is one of Fry's signature stores, and it is awesome! They have EVERYTHING! The store itself is huge, and has a ton of in house services. They have a seamstress with a dry cleaners, a coldstone creamery, starbucks and a bunch of other stuff here too. Full wine section, sushi bar, kosher section, electronics, FULL deli, and so much more. I love the full service stores because it makes grocery shopping fun. TONS of selection, prepared foods, and so many options. It dwarfs "normal" non signature stores because its got a ton more stuff. I find that I am more productive with my grocery shopping here because after seeing everything they have, I get better ideas of what to make, cook and do at home. Every time, EVERY single time I drag myself to this god forsaken place for a few items they inevitably find a way to screw up. From the inattentive, barely intelligible employees to wiping out the entire back of the store to redo floors and eliminating their meat section, it's been a bad experience. Every. Single. Time. I. Come. Here. I go for 3 items and they manage not to have two. Almond milk. Steak. Those are pretty normal grocery store items. I only go when Sprouts closes at 10 because I know what awaits. No more. Frys is so so much better than garbage Albertsons or Safeway. I cannot stand those places. The staff was nice here. They have many different food items I can't get at the other grocery stores. It's clean inside and although I usually get annoyed shopping at grocery stores this is t that bad. They have a full bakery and meat department along with the deli section (some Frys don't) and good sales a lot of time. They even have their own sushi bar which is cool and I have bought rolls a couple times and they are not bad. The produce section looked clean and organized. I had to ask where a few things were and I was pointed in the right direction and he didn't seem too busy for me as he was stocking produce. So good stuff there. The check out lines are nice for self checkout. Some of the cashiers are a little slow but for the most part all very nice. Some are focused on ringing everything up and not too engaging g but I get it they need to focus. Overall this place is usually busy when I have visited but at least they have variety and more items and the staff is better than the other grocery store chains. read more

This is a huge, well-kept Signature Fry's store. Friendly and spacious, with a huge product selection. One less star than five due to lack of cashiers at around 7-8 AM-ish. The self-checkout lanes are problematic and annoying. Parking: Plenty. However, this one can become incredibly crowded, based on location (and likely due to the huge product selection). Products: This Fry's has so many products that other stores do not. It's almost like a Whole Foods (but bigger) with numerous health-type products, plus a kosher section and more. There are several aisles of books, gifts, kitchen ware, and towels. I have a very specific type of rice cake I eat before running (seriously, it is the best pre-exercise snack). They are hard to find, oddly enough, but they had them! Staff: At least seven staff members greeted me at this Fry's! They are often stocking in the am, when I go. Prices: Are pretty much the best. They are cheaper than Safeway, Sprouts, and Whole foods. They have a huge selection of flowers and gifts that seem to be well-priced. Days prior today I called ahead because I do not get an automated called that they are ready ( like I am accustomed to from my local Bakers in Omaha, Nebraska ) so today I was told my scripts called in yesterday am would be ready in an hour- HA the pharmacist explained they are busy so it would be another 30-40 minutes. I am an almost daily customer of this store (125). Like any large store, it does occasionally have its challenges. In the very few instances where I have had a problem, the Store Manager (currently Vanessa) has cheerfully worked with me to resolve the issue. In our societal rush to do everything on line and limit personal interaction, this store stands out as one that still has personality. Lorraine at Customer Service waves Hello. Ezra, Susie, Amy, Dawn, Michael, Joey, or many others all greet me on entry. Ezra knows our family preferences and always alerts me to sales on those items. Yes, there are occasional waits for checkout and times where some desired products are not on the shelves. However, I strongly believe that Vanessa and her team are doing a great job of making my shopping experience pleasant and efficient. read more

I've used Frys for my medicine for years. Normally I get my groceries there too. Today I went to get a new script. I used the outside window, rang the bell and waited. The one technician working the inside counter turned around and saw me, Fortunato I believe. He continues to help the inside customers even though I'm arrived before some of them. After that he leaves and goes back. The other tech, Kristen restocks drugs right near me but doesn't offer to help and doesn't call anyone over to help me. I continue to wait. Other customers inside arrive and they help them. I ring the bell again and a customer actually brings my presence to Fortunato who finishes with them snd walks over. He then said I have to come in a the computer next to the window doesn't work. I ask to speak with the pharmacy manager but instead he sends the other technician over. She helps me by using a computer about 3 feet away. Then because my serous new I have to wait for the pharmacist who makes me wait 15 minutes before he comes over. It's not worth it. I have been trying to get my fuel points @ the Scottsdale Frys since March without success, they apologize and tell me they will call me when its fixed or they tell me it IS fixed when in fact it is NOT. They then tell me they will roll over the points which they do not. Just went to get gas and the points are now over 2000 and I still have no access to them. Not enamored with the updates going into this Frys as of 2018-2019. We've shopped here since it was originally built as a Smittys, then a Smiths, finally a Frys. The last major remodel years ago made some amazing changes for the better. Produce, wine/cheese, Starbucks, self checkouts, huge comfortable lounge area - all wonderfully laid out. The store was getting a bit old looking lately. So this update appears to be putting in nice wood like floors, but also they reshuffled all the aisles, and it seems the aisles are narrower now. Plus the Starbucks was moved to the east wall with a very small austere and not very relaxing seating/break room. The large tables are all gone. Please let us all know what the final plans are.... read more

We purchased a $500 Visa gift card from this Frys for a trip to California. The first gas stop the card was denied. We called the number on the back and were told that Frys had sold us a stolen card and after checking, the only way we could get our money is they would send us a replacement card in 7-10 days. It has been almost 3 weeks and still no money. Even though Frys sold us the card and took their fee they wash their hands of it. Visa answers from some other country and just says the card is in the mail and USPS or UPS is probably delayed. BUYER BEWARE of Fraudulent gift cards at this Frys. You will get absolutely NO help from them to retrieve your money. After 10 years of shopping here we will no longer trust them. read more

I rarely shop here, unless Mom wanted a watermelon or cantaloupe and I couldn't find any at Sprout's. I've also tried looking for specialty ice cream before, such as Three Twins organic (not sold here), or specific flavors of Ben & Jerry's, but I always talk myself out of buying any. I decided to forgo dining at Postino's today- I've been craving a bruschetta board for ages, but didn't feel like socializing, so instead went to Fry's to see if I could locate some fig jam and a cheese, or two. Lo, I was very pleasantly surprised to leave with so much more! After missing out on a great parking spot, thinking I'd spotted an even better one (nope, it was a deeply recessed space for carts!- they need to put up better signage for this), I had to settle for a "15-min only" spot. Good! I have another reason to keep this short and sweet. (My first reason was that I was HUNGRY!) First, let's see if this Fry's carries B&J's "Chocolate Therapy" (last night's online check said it should), as well as a "Favorite Not Favorite" flavor** "Coffee Coffee BuzzBuzz Buzz!" FYI, I love almost anything coffee-flavored! Verdict? Yes, and yes! Note to self: must pick these flavors up after raiding the cheese counter. And oh, what a cheese counter it was! I was in the vicinity of gourmet edibles (imported butters, pickled jars of peppers, bags of veggie and pita chips) when a woman asked if she could offer any assistance-- yes, please! Do you sell any fig jam? And she said to follow her to what I'd like to call a slice of cheese heaven! After pointing out the fig and other fruit pastes, as well as the jars of Dalmatia Fig Spread (I've bought these before from Whole Foods; they're good), I thought I'd investigate a little further, even though I didn't have much time... I only had 15 minutes! On top of the counter, on one side, are packets of chocolates. Cute packaging, $5 each: Hazelnut, Dark chocolate, Salted Caramel, and something else. Can't recall if any of them were fair trade, but I'm not looking for chocolates, I need something fruity! Oh, yes! There you are... Harvest Song. 100% Natural Apricot Artisan Preserves. Gold Award winner? Gluten-free? All that mattered to me were "100% Natural, No Pectin, NO PRESERVATIVES, and Pure cane sugar." (!!!) I recommend this product 1000 times! Sure, the Dalmatia fig spread is OK, but this apricot preserves is life-changing! Especially when paired with Murray's triple creme Brie. Found this brie wedge under "Buttery" after first checking out all of the sections and then noticing the signs above that posted descriptions of the cheeses. I also chose a slab of Murray's Butter Kase, but that'll have to wait for another time. My delicious late lunch consisted of a little bit of seasoned fried pork chop, four peppadews (from Sprout's), and two slices of Dave's Killer Breads 100% Honey Whole Wheat (from Whole Foods), toasted, upon which I buttered some of the triple creme Brie that I first wrapped up in foil and heated in the toaster oven, and THEN topped with the apricot preserves. Wow! First time here and I just cannot believe what I saw. This place is amazing! You may never have to go anywhere again to shop but here. A huge and beautiful store in every way. Food store is just the beginning. They also have a Bank, a coin star, a Pharmacy. Yes you say most stores do. However, the story gets bigger. They have every type of food item you could ever want including those that are ready to eat. An entire Electroinic store right inside, as well as a redbox if you just want to rent a movie. Starbucks, or and I almost forgot they have a Car rental place inside as well. It is like something from the future. You honestly have to see this place to believe it! It's like it's own shopping center with everything from indoor & outdoor furniture and accessories, toys, linens, appliances, and...oh yeah, food. The grocery store at Marketplace (are all Marketplace's the same?) is so much nicer than at the regular Fry's stores. Produce looks good, nice liquor selection, great deli with a wide variety of "heat and serve" entrees that are actually good, sushi, etc. And if you need to pick up a few Christmas gifts after you grab your tampons, you're in luck. The reporter explained how these people were part time, stating they would each receive a 200 dollar severance package and presumably, a goodbye card from HR. What a nice sendoff. We were here a few times today while in town unexpectedly. My hubby stopped in first and overheard an all-staff meeting centered around how they can I improve their customer service. We both stopped in a bit later for a drink at the wine bar. I was enchanted with being able to eat sushi, get a glass of wine or beer, free cheese pairings, and the like. Several hours later I couldn't find a jacket I had brought on our trip. I retraced my steps and figured I left it at the wine bar, so I called the grocery store and asked. The woman who answered said no one had turned in a jacket today. I asked - really? Could you check at the wine bar? She asked me what time I was there and then informed me that they would have already turned it to her since it was "so long ago" (6 hrs). My husband and I proceeded to tear apart our hotel room and unpack all our luggage, to no avail. He went back to the grocery store and there was my jacket at the wine bar. He went to the customer service desk to show the woman with whom I spoke. She told him that she was "busy when she spoke to me". Too busy to transfer me to the wine bar, or take a number and call me back, apparently. Customer service still leaves something to be desired, even after a staff meeting about it. read more

This Fry's makes me feel like I am at the Ritz Carlton's of grocery stores. I feel this place is nicer than AJ's Fine Foods. It's the same stuff and the same prices as other Fry's just in "palace" mode. Really clean, lots of variety. Great deli, bakery, meat, seafood sections. They even make their own sushi. A rainbow roll is only $7 which is nice. The wine selection is phenomenal. They even have someone to help you. The employees are friendly and helpful which I find hard to come by these days. I have 5 markets in a 2 mile radius and I've decided to drive 10 miles out of my way to come here. Kudos! read more

Had a phone call interaction with one of the technicians in the pharmacy couple days ago and it was the worst phone call I've ever had all I needed help with was prescription refill transfer cuz I've had mine set up a different location. I was so dissatisfied I wanted to go out of my way to file a complaint on how I was treated. I was not able to obtain her name cuz she hung up rudely after filling my prescription. While I was cooperating politely on the other line with her typical questions she would raise her voice if she wants it repeated. She would say "excuse me" for so many times without a reason. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life asking for a refill. I instantly regretted that I asked for help and regretted to pick this pharmacy location. She's the worst pharmacy technician I've ever dealt with I wouldn't trust her with any medication that's how uncomfortable I've felt and I'm still bothered about it up to today. read more

This morning I went to This Fry's location to purchase food for an afternoon get together with friends. I also needed dog treats but they were out of the ones I normally buy. A store staff member strongly encouraged me to purchase a different brand which I did. When I got home I discovered grain weevils crawling out of the bottom of the boxes. I did not open the boxes and this evening went back with the infested boxes of biscuit and requested a refund. My request was denied so I asked to speak with a manager. Not only did Ryan, the assistant manager, refuse to provide a refund, he implied that I had put the weevils in the box ignoring the fact that the boxes had not even been opened and followed with "they are just dog biscuits, what's the big deal?" He also said customer service was closed and that I should come back tomorrow. I was stunned by his rude behavior. Well, Ryan, here's the big deal. It is your choice to feed your pets bug infested food. I am very sorry for your pets. I choose to treat mine better than that. Customer service does not stop just because your customer service desk is not staffed. If the store is open, you should be providing customer service. Further, Ryan, the total refund was only $7.75 and you made it a point to tell me that you had broken a store policy? Here, Ryan, is the bottom line. You just cost Fry's a customer and I spend considerably more than $7.75 for groceries every year. In addition, I know a lot of other people who shop for groceries and I will certainly tell them about this experience. Fry's/Kroger is not the only grocery store in the United States. I feel like since I practically live at this Fry's (it's about .7 seconds away from home), I should probably put in my two cents. I'll echo the majority of the reviews: This place has everything. (" Ice sculptures, winos, Germfs - German smurfs - a Teddy Ruxpin wearing mascara, an old lady wearing Kid 'N Play hair, and none other than DJ Baby Bok Choy.") So much so that if I didn't come here so much, I think I might get overwhelmed at where to find anything. Produce prices are pretty much the best around, except for Sprouts. Nobody can beat Sprouts' produce selection (which surprised me too, until I started actively comparing). But to factor in convenience of having literally everything else on earth in the same location, I come here the majority of the time. There IS a reason why they lose a star. They just can't seem to get a 100% grip on their bulk section. They FINALLY invested in nice Ziplock bags (it was hit or miss on what type of bag you'd find in there...one time I found a pile of plastic produce bags laying there.) and FOR NOW they've set Sharpies up to write out the PLU number on the bags, but they seem to go missing. Every so often they revert to these terri-bad charcoal pencils where you unwrap thread from around the point to write. I've also constantly run into them being completely out of the two main staples I get in bulk: raw almonds and quinoa. If they could perfect the bulk/"natural" section, they'd get 5 stars. But they'll get my money regardless, since they're so close. So I guess Fry's wins this battle. read more

I feel pretty swanky when I happen to stop here and shop. Not that it's snooty or anything, but they just carry EVERYTHING. I can walk out with new patio furniture, my Rx filled, storage bins, organic oatmeal, various gourmet olives picked by yours truly at the olive bar, sashimi (don't get your hopes up here, it's pricey and not that great), fresh-cut tulips, and plastic air mattress to float on when it's warm again. Before you think I have the weirdest/most random grocery list ever, I listed these items to illustrate the wide array of stuff you can tender there. The store (just square footage-wise) is large. It would probably annoy the person who "just needs to run in for (insert item here)" without knowing the geography of the store, or if they were in a hurry. Reserve this store for times when you're just so bored (and a little hungry) you don't even know what to do w/yourself. I have shopped here frequently over the past 4 years at this location specifically. Always nice employees and proud of the people they employee here to bag groceries at this location. Oh my was today most interesting customer service. I was just at the store looking for an umbrella as it's pouring outside and I couldn't find them so I asked an employee, Karen, who was just straightening a sign at Self checkout. While we were in the middle of a conversation another employee walks up and starts talking to her about their weekend or something so I just awkwardly start to walk away because they didn't say anything to me she just switched from talking to me a customer met to her gal pal. So I start to just go ok.... I'll walk in this direction. When I turn to glance back she shouts at me and she says I am busy right now. After she started helping me and then walks off... I turned to look at her with a blank stare and she points they must be over there somewhere knowingly pointing me in the wrong direction. Awesome. Busy? I honestly have never seen a grocery store better than this. The prices are good - almost comparable to the big discounters. The selection is amazing in virtually every department. Yes, I often go to Sprouts for produce, but really like the quality and selection of produce here, as well. When I bought my place in Scottsdale, I was really pleased that I live so close to this Fry's market. I actually enjoy going there - and the gas discount program is a nice perk. Honestly, I might go broke if I lived within the general vicinity of this mecca of grocery stores.... This is the creme de le creme of Fry's, hands down the best single grocery store in all of Metro Phoenix. ~What To Do~ Way too much. First you can shop for pretty much any specific grocery need you can think of. They have a Coldstone inside....yes, Coldstone. They have a coffee shop, a car rental counter, a valet.... they also have a cigar/wine bar which specializes in wine flights...and a top flight sushi station. *gasps for breath* ~The Good~ Oh, there is so much good. This place is stocked to the gills with extras that we can only dream of at other locations. Their specialty bread area, with artisan breads is surprising. The wine bar looks nice, although I haven't personally tried it myself. Its hard to explain this spot, other than it is a Fry's on steroids. The food is a bit nicer, and each aisle or section has different higher end items that you just don't see elsewhere. This is Fry's answer to Whole Foods and Sprouts, yet at a Costco size level. You simply must go... like Nike, Just Do It. ~The Bad~ WELL..... If you need a scooter, your battery might run out trying to see everything (I'm sorry about that God, that was my bad). If you loathe walking, in other words, then do not go here... All joking aside, the only negative I see is the location. It serious just plays directly to its clientele, upper class Scottsdalians (or w/e you call them, haha). People like myself in Central Phoenix and he surrounding cities are left in the dust, and its completely out of the question thinking about driving to shop here. Ha ha, no way. That's my biggest issue, just simply the fact that they placed this so far away from the other cities... meh.. ~The Down Low~ Despite the location issue, this place is too great to lose even a half a star. Fish bones in my sushi, ick! Chew carefully. .. Also, if coming on your lunch break, they have great lunch deals! The main problem that I have since I pretty much come here everyday, is there is NO PLACE TO SIT! There is a designated eating area, with tables, couches, you name it . . . but everyday the retirement home ladies set up camp at all the tables and play board games. Not to be confused with frys electronics even though it has the same logo got a lolz on that. Had an urgent pharmacy order and the pharmacist there was very nice. Good selection of food and things. It has a cold stone ice cream place. An upscale grocery store without the upscale prices. FYI this place is owned by Ralph's but may not take your old Ralph's card for whatever reason.
