No one ever wants the phone call telling them that their dog is dying. My sweet boy, Diesel, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and hearing that there was nothing more we could do was one of the hardest moments of my life. Even in that heartbreaking conversation, Dr. Mitchell met me with incredible compassion. When I asked if I could bring Diesel home for one last night together before saying goodbye the next morning, he understood how important that time was to me. I'll always be thankful for that grace. Losing a pet is devastating. You know they'll never live forever, but nothing truly prepares you for the day you have to let them go. Throughout the entire process, I never felt alone. Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Morehead, and the entire team treated Diesel with dignity, kindness, and genuine love. They answered every question, never rushed me, and helped me make the hardest decision I've ever had to make. What stands out most about this clinic is that they care. They celebrate the good days with you, and they walk through the hardest days with you too. You can tell they became veterinarians because they love animals and the people who love them. They are thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly compassionate. Diesel was my best friend. We navigated my twenties together, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him. Knowing he was cared for by people who loved him too brings me an incredible amount of peace. On a lighter note, I also love their rewards program. While I'm not ready for another dog anytime soon, it makes me smile knowing those points will be there if that day ever comes. If you're looking for a veterinary clinic that will care for your pet as if they were their own, whether it's for a routine visit or the hardest day you'll ever face, I cannot recommend Leander Vet Clinic enough. I have never had their teeth cleaned so thoroughly, professionally and compassionately. Dr. Capron did a thorough oral exam, including full-mouth X-rays which are necessary to identify any tooth abscesses or bone loss from periodontal disease. His technique, tools and equipment are state of the art, much like the ones my dentist uses. Since oral disease is the #2 health issue for our 4-legged family members, it is imperative to have as much concern about their teeth and gums as you do about yours! Dogs, and cats particularly, often don't show pain from oral disease but if you can smell or see a problem in your pet's mouth, please consider contacting Dr. Capron's office for a consultation/evaluation ASAP. However, your pet could have a serious problem without an offensive odor or visible indication. It is always easier and less expensive to identify and treat a problem earlier than later. The longer you wait to treat oral disease, the less options you have and the more expensive it will be to eradicate it--for you or your pets. I have never heard anyone say "I am glad I waited to seek treatment" but I have heard a lot of people say "I sure wished I had gone to the dentist earlier--I sure would have saved a lot of money because I would have had more options". I know you will be glad you had your pet checked out and treated by Dr. Capron! He is nothing short of AWESOME!! He even called me twice after my cats had their teeth cleaned and went home--just to check on them and make sure they were comfortable and happy.

I'm especially disappointed after being told that an annual exam is a Texas legal requirement for prescription refills when there is no state requirement for this. They've also stopped offering digital prescriptions and now require clients to physically come into the clinic to obtain them, which is extremely inconvenient for routine, long-term refills and feels like a major step backward. Clinic policies are one thing, but presenting them as state law is concerning. Misrepresenting legal requirements to clients is a major red flag and has seriously damaged my trust in this clinic.
