    Solare

Refreshing treat on the way to my tattoo appointment! A friend recommended Frulalà so I got the Solare (mango, pineapple, lemon, mint) but wish it was blended with ice. No one likes a lukewarm smoothie. Well, maybe they do in Venice. There are apparently alcoholic options I didn't know about, so I'll definitely try it again next time I'm in Venice. Their free samples make for effective marketing so check it out and chill with some friends on the barstools inside!

Fruit smoothie with your alcohol of choice

If you are looking for a way to have your daily dose of fruit, this might as well be the way to go: as a smoothie and with a shoot of alcohol. The bar opens onto the street, so there is stools for seating on the perimeter to rest and take a breather. The portion is sizable, but it is on the expensive side. It is a nice treat after exploring the city!

Do you like fruit? Do you like alcohol? If so you'll love Frulalà! This place is such a hidden gem in Venice. I am a person who hates the taste of alcohol, so if I'm gonna drink it it needs to be sweet and sugary. They give out free sample shots here so you can try before you buy. I loved the vodka sour sample that they gave me which was one of their premixed frozen drinks. For only about 7 euros, I got a decent amount. The drink tasted like fresh strawberries and you couldn't even tell it was alcoholic. They bartenders were extremely lively and the atmosphere brought a new life to the otherwise dead streets of Venice at midnight. The only con about this place is that I can't have it everyday!

    Hot sangria

I saw many of these bar stands throughout exploring through Venice. These are literally just stands outside with some bar stools around them, pretty cool actually. There are heaters above your bar stools so it was very warm even though it is outside. This is a cool spot to drink at anytime, but at night they are lit up and playing music. All of these stands were pretty busy at night. Every seat was taken and many people standing behind them. They offer all sorts of fruity drinks that are made with actual real fruit. They also had the hot sangria which were amazing ! The hot sangrias were $7, which is more than most bars, but they were bigger. I liked these stands because you were outside in the middle of the action while sipping on a cocktail.

Great energy from the start. They gave out free samples. My smoothie was delicious and fresh. It was a relief from all of the pasta and pizza. Wish we could have started our day here for each day.

I admit, I felt a little bit weird ordering a smoothie in Italy when I feel like I should be craving more something Italian. My friend and I were craving something cold and sweet, but not gelato or any kind of dessert because we already had our share of that in the morning. We ran into this place and saw the crowds of people wanting to try samples and ordering smoothies so we thought it might have been good. Their menu is pretty wide on the types of drinks they make, from yogurt base, fruit base, and milk based smoothies as well as cocktails, virgin or alcoholic. A small smoothie size (doesn't matter what base) is 5 euro, whereas a larger size is 6 euro. I got their yogurt based smoothie with passion fruit, coconut and banana and it was something I was aiming for. My friend got a fruit based smoothie with pomegranate and strawberry and another fruit; she was definitely satisfied. You can just order a plain fruit salad if you prefer but I don't know how much that costs. I think this place is worth trying, but you aren't missing out on much especially if you know you can get smoothies like this (for even cheaper probably) back at home if you're on vacation.

My sangria and they diced up some mangoes for my kid.

Little lively fruit bar. They serve smoothies, juices, and most importantly fruit based cocktails. I had a kicking sangria. Music is pumping and the servers are jumping. Friendly offering you samples galore. Get yourself a cool boozed-up drink close to sunset and jump on a gondola ride. You won't regret it.

Pros: - Delicious drinks with real fruit. I had the Mango Mojito. - The drinks are VERY strong. I saw the bartender put at least 3 shots in my mojito. - Everything here is reasonably priced, unlike the rest of Venice. - Good location. It's a bit hard to find, but it is on a relatively busy street and away from the tourist crowds near San Marco and the Grand Canal. Cons: - Very limited seating. There were only a couple of bar stools. This is meant to be a quick stop where you grab a drink to go.

Perfect option to keep cool and healthy! Frulala offers a great menu for smoothies, yogurt, fruit bowls and alcoholic drinks. I've tried their fruit-only smoothies - Brioso is my favourite and their all very tasty. Prices are between €5-7 but it's worth it! Service is also personable and friendly.

What a cool spot! Not very big and not a lot of seating but they have night club music and a cool crowd that tends to hang at this Fruit bar. It honestly felt like a little bar but only with fruit. I honestly wouldn't mind just hanging here and having a fruit smoothie with some alcohol in it! They have a wide variety of fruits , smoothies and drinks with alcohol in them. Fruit seems to be pretty fresh as well!

Situated at the foot of the Ponte dei Frari bridge in a non-touristy, quiet part of Venice, this…read morequaint two-story bar with an inventive cocktail menu is characterized by a mezzanine with black leather booths and beautiful stained glass lamps hanging from the ceiling that opens up to look down on the main room. This is actually a historical Venetian cafe' from 1870's called "Caffe' dei Frari o Toppo"[1], and I remember coming here regularly when I was in college to "study", i.e. to hang out with my friends who would also come here during the day. In fact, this is still a cafe' during the day, but it transforms itself in a cocktail bar at night. The vibe is mellow, relaxed and romantic and this bar prides itself on being one of the few in Venice to serve truly inventive contemporary cocktails. The menu is actually divided by techniques: fermentation, distillation, liquid kitchen, and fat wash. We tried the Cucumber and Fake Rose (fermentation: Fermented cucumber, Andaliman pepper, Lillet, verjus and bubbles) and The Amaz-on Fire (fat wash: Yaguara cachaca, coconut oil, Cynar, dill, house sherry mix and Porcini mushroom; peat perfume). Both were excellent, and were presented in an artful way that doesn't feel pretentious. And if you are hungry, the bar serve their own cichetti (bar snacks). I look forward to coming back next year, and perhaps try one of the food-inspired, liquid kitchen cocktails. ------------------------------- [1] https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffe-dei-frari-o-toppo-venezia

Finally found my other notes for this place. They did really interesting stuff with their sides…read more Very modern, in portion sizes that are approachable. It brings delight and minimizes food waste if guests don't like it. * Le Corsaire: A gorgeous soft green drink. Sweet but not sugary, with a lil bit of spice at the end. It was paired with a blue cheese mousse and honey caviar - I don't know how they did it, but it was delicious. The blue cheese taste makes the mousse pop. * Steven had a cocktail that came with a side of yogurt covered with a soft shell (that acted like a water balloon). * Hispaniola: The drink was smoky and something about it tasted like temptation. Paired with a beautifully done meringue (nice and airy!) and a keyboard-smashingly gorgeous caviar.
