The Long Version: This small grocery store in Orleans markets itself as a Pakistani, Indian and Mediterranean market. It just opened up in August 2025 where Istanbul Food Mart used to be on Des Epinettes. I didn't even know the Istanbul Food Mart closed, but my brother who lives in the area told me about it. And when I drove by I saw a sign with a picture of samosas and knew I had to check it out, lol. My mom loves samosas, so when I came to visit her (she also lives near the store) I asked her if she wanted to check out the store together, and of course she was game. They did indeed have samosas. The big regular type and the smaller ones made with phyllo pastry. The big ones were vegetarian and $1.50 each. The smaller ones were chicken and $0.75 each. We got a big one and 3 small ones. They also had Indian sweets such as Barfi, Ladoo, Jelebi, Gulab Jamun and Rasgulla, sold by the weight. I don't know all the names but we ended up getting 4 different types to try. You can see my photo. The store has lots of spices, sauces and mixes. As well as imported drinks and snacks (my favourite, lol). The store is neatly organized. There's also an area at the front with tables and chairs where you can sit to enjoy some food or drink. We had the chance to speak with Ali himself and he was very friendly and welcoming. He told us his plans to expand their menu. They will be selling shawarma. He's also thinking of items like samosa chaat. And maybe some fusion poutine like curry poutine, and likely regular poutine too, lol. I think if they expanded their menu, their eat-in area would be a great place to have a snack or meal. It's by the front, which is all windows, so feels like you're in a solarium. The space is very lovely, and surprisingly so since it's inside a grocery store, lol. I liked how Ali was very genuine. When my mom asked if they will be selling big meat samosas, he said she's the third person to ask him that, so they will likely do so in the future. When I asked him if they will be selling baked samosas, he said I'm the only person who's ever asked that and he thinks baked samosas will likely not sell. Lol. I appreciate honesty! And I get it, you need to sell what people will buy ;) (As an aside, my mom said to me, "Jennifer, people want to eat deep-fried delicious things, not baked healthy alternatives like you do!") Fair! Haha. Ali also told us when his sign at the corner advertising samosas was handwritten no one came in looking for samosas but after he got a sign with a picture of samosas on it people started coming in asking for samosas, lol. The samosas were delicious. The big vegetarian one was filled with potatoes, peas and spices. It was spicy! Spicier than most samosas I've had and I loved it. The flavour was also unique. It was more complex and interesting than other samosas I've had. The small samosas were also good, but pale in comparison to the big one in flavour. My parents enjoyed the Indian sweets. They were too sweet for my tastes, but I already knew this because most desserts are too sweet for my liking, lol. The one with a carrot halwa base was the least sweet and the most enjoyable to me. Anyway, I'm really excited to see how this store evolves. I'll be stopping by again with my mom to try their new items. It's in a little plaza so there's free parking in the shared parking lot with other businesses in the plaza. Review #157 (2025)

If you are looking for lightlife & gusta brands, they have them here! :) Parking is great here, and its usually not that busy. The entry of the store is bright, and pretty large, but its also really packed with your produce section, bakery section, deli, prepared foods, and waaay at the back the seafood section all at the front of the store. It can get a little overwhelming, and I find myself getting in the way of the associates a lot of the time. I'm also not a huge fan of those little gates that you have to pass through when you enter the store. I find it super awkward with a stroller. I also find this store, and a lot of Metro's are not as widely stocked with brands like a lot of other grocery stores, but they have the staples. Sometimes they have some good sales here, and sometimes I find their items super overpriced. If you are used to shopping at stores like Loblaws, or Loblaws Superstore, then this store might underwhelm you. If you are into fresh produce, grandma style baked goodies and more of a farmers market/local type of vibe, then Farmboy might be the better choice. With that being said, this is one of the nicer Metro's I have been to, unlike the St. Laurent location which is now closed, and I will probably be back on occasion for my vegan products or if they are having a really good sale on a particular item.

Half the flowers were wilted, the petals were falling off and many leaves were brown or rotting. The flowers are cleverly packaged so you can't tell the condition they are in. Will never buy at this store again...what a rip off! I should have gone to Loblaws, they always have fresh flowers, old flowers are sold at 50% off so you always know what you're getting! So disappointed!

I had never heard of Good Grazes before but I saw it on my "Too Good to Go" app (which is an app…read morethat helps to prevents food wastage) so I checked them out online. Good Grazes makes charcuterie boxes and "snacking boxes." Their Too Good to Go box is a collection of their surplus perishable ingredients that were used to make regular retail boxes. I figured for $7.99, I would give them a try. Executive Summary: food was tasty and I would consider buying a regular box from them. They are located in an industrial park in Gloucester, which is not all that convenient for me. However, they are only a slight detour on my way to Orleans when I visit my parents. So one day, the stars aligned and Good Grazes had a box on Too Good to Go and the pick up time and date was convenient with when I had planned on visiting my parents. So I bought it. Except for the parking situation, the pickup was good. Staff were friendly. They handed me the box and even warned me that the silver candies were not soft and were rock hard like jawbreakers, so just to be careful not to chip a tooth, lol. I appreciated this information. As for the parking, there are limited spots and they were all taken so I had to park on the other side of the building and trudge over in the snow (which thankfully was mostly cleared off in front of the stores). Not a huge deal, but I hate the cold and snow, lol. The actual box itself was a bit random, but this is to be expected with a surplus ingredients box. However, it gave me a good idea of what can be found in regular boxes. I got a pile of salami, some cucumber and carrot sticks with ranch dip, some cantaloupe, half a strawberry, some cubes of Swiss cheese, some triangles of brie cheese, some dried apple chips, 2 maple cookies, some peanuts, some snowflake-shaped gummies, a hotdog-shaped gummy, and some aforementioned silver jawbreakers, lol. I also got some slices of baguette, a few pretzels and broken crackers, and an "instant hot chocolate in a cone" mix. Like I said, I was heading to my parents' house and my brother's family was going to be there too, and the box was a hit. The randomness was great, as the kids loved the gummies and fruits and the adults loved the meat and cheeses. The veggies were still crisp and nothing tasted rotten nor stale, despite being "leftovers." I'm so glad I found out about this business. It is not a business you would stumble upon by driving by and seeing it, as it is tucked away in an industrial park. I would definitely consider buying a regular box from them either for myself or as a gift.
