I took in my hard drive and explained my issue to David and how disappointed that the place I took it to originally, weren't able to recover my data. He said it would take 3-5 business days. Feeling that there was a chance in fixing my computer, I asked if I could pay now (which was $150) and left. David calls shortly after to ask questions regarding the hard drive. I'm put on hold so he could talk to the tech guy (whom I never saw, but assumed he was in back). David then told me it couldn't be fixed based on their diagnosis. I come back thinking I'd be refunded, since I paid to what I thought was towards the repair. When confronted, David apologized and shrugged it off, admitting he forgot to mention it. I would've asked to speak to someone else, but a customer was there and I don't like causing scenes. Not only did I pay $150 for a quote advertised as free, they took all of 20 minutes to diagnose something I already knew that it wasn't likely to be fixed. We quote the obvious fix. If you brought in a phone with a broken screen, we quote you the cost of replacing the screen. If you bring in a laptop with a virus, we quote the cost of removing the virus. We don't do the job and then issue a quote. I said I dropped the phone over two years ago but they said it does take time for the damage to get worse over time. I suppose that's what happened in this case. Sorry, but we have never had a cracked phone screen in this household until we used your product. As it's an older phone (four years), I can guarantee it has been dropped a few times, so looks like an easy out for them to not cover warranty. They are either really bad at repairs or offer cheap replacement products to customers. Go to a more reputable place, like Computer Cave. They are honest and offer quality repair and products. Staff at this Fruit Fixed Store couldn't even tell me how much the part the cost or even acknowledge that glass can crack from cheap quality or improper repair.
