When I first started coming here, it had growing pains, particularly with staff recruitment and attitude. The place is now superb. Amazing variety of items, superb quality of cheeses and meats, both foreign and domestic. Their new checkout systems are time saving and then there is always an attendant nearby. Staff is friendly and always busy doing something. At the cheese department, they were absolutely knowledgeable about the types, origins, and their recommendations were spot on. Good training of the staff... obviously. My only recommendation is on the hot food bar. After 1:30, it tends to get picked over and a refreshment of the items is in order. If you have never had a farm fresh chicken, it really is something to try. It is hard for many people to understand why there is such a difference in grocery store prices vs farm prices (and then, organic farm prices). It's worth it to me because the flavor is so insanely better than anything I have bought at a store. This meat is even better than the chicken we get from a local non-organic farm. The other differences I noticed is that the skin is much heartier. It does not split easily. It's a healthier chicken, so the collagen is not compromised. My proof is also in the bottom of the pan. There was not much fat once the juices cooled. They solidified into gelatin, which tells me the collagen is healthier. We both noticed when eating the meat from bones, the bones actually had flavor! So, I cannot wait to get another one and make chicken stock from the bones. Also, the chicken was very big. I was under the misconception that only GMO feed and steroid injected chickens get that big at that young age. Not true. What is true is that all parts are proportionately large. As opposed to grocery store chickens that have huge breast meat areas, and the other parts are small. This chicken clearly got great exercise. We also got a sugar pumpkin. It was wonderful too. Some pie pumpkins are very hard to cut into, the skin is like bark. These pumpkins cut well, roasted well and had a nice autumn flavor. I will be making my pie soon. We ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving. I am very much looking forward to it. The turkeys are raised the same way the chickens are, and I am quite certain the flavor and quality will be unbelievable.

Average price for fudge in N.H. throughout the state is $19/lb. This is a very high margin like double the average. This kind of thing like the housing market is why inflation is so high. People bear the price stated. One and done for me. Secondly, and it's not even great! It's creamy and that's good buy it weak in chocolate flavor compared to real fudge. I get it it's swiss and that why it's creamy and weak in chocolate flavor. Also the small pcs already cut up is not desirable for me. This is a type of fudge but not real fudge and what I mean by that, is if you had 20 cook books and looked up chocolate fudge assuredly you would not find this type of fudge under chocolate fudge. You'd likely have to look under swiss chocolate fudge if it is even listed as a recipe. Bottom line no fudge is worth $42/pound. I felt like I was trading on the futures exchange.

Upon this most unprecedented day, my usual Hannaford in Hudson inexplicably had a Glacier machine that wasn't turned on. As in....it was plugged in...but not turned on. This wasn't the first time I ran into a busted ass machine at the Hudson location. Therefore, it was time for me to finally seek out other options. After scouring the four corners of the Internet, I came across two more Hannafords that have this water machine: one in Londonderry and this location. So, as if it wasn't pretty obvious by now, the only reason I came to this store was to get water. That being said, there's a few things about this location's water machine which make it superior to the one in Hudson. First thing I noticed were the written signs posted on the machine. In short, they basically advise customers that this machine only fills 1 and 5 gallon jugs. This is important since the water jugs Hannaford actually SELLS are 4 gallon jugs. Which means if you have one of these 4 gallon jugs and want to refill using this machine, you have to do it one gallon at a time. With that caveat out of the way, we can mention the second thing I love about this machine. Not only is the compartment you place the bottle in the precise size for a five gallon jug; it also has a see-thru door that contains any splash back from the water spout. The Hudson location does not have this. It's kinda cool because it means I don't need to line up the nozzle of the water jug with the spout like I have to at Hudson. A small detail, to be sure. But ya know what they say: every little bit helps. Although I didn't actually "shop" at this store per se, I did take a quick look at the floor layout and it felt cleaner than most other Hannafords I've been to. It's tough to explain, but it simply didn't feel as cluttered as some stores. Hannaford in Bedford gets 5 jugs filled with sparkling clean water out of 5.

European Goods in New Hampshire!…read more I came across Euro Market on my way to Manchester. They have an excellent selection of European goods. Though I may be wrong, I believe it is more Eastern-European focused. Either way, they have a great selection. I picked up some of their cured meats and some spreads. I'm looking forward to visiting again when I have more time! The shop is both large and small at the same time. I hope that they are able to fill in more of their shelves with more great food items. The employees are also quite cheerful, I really felt welcome. I will be back!
