I'll start by telling you the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of a 5 star is due to price! A Market is by far the best Natural grocery store in the area! They have the best produce area that I have ever seen! It's clean , organized well and they have a good variety! They also have a great selection of vegetarian and gluten free options. The staff is always friendly and willing to help! I would definitely recommend A Market! read more

A Market is my favorite organic food store. It's small but they have 95% of what I need each visit. They have a lot of local products that I really enjoy. The produce is by far the best in the area. The staff is always helpful and kind. read more

This is a great store for buying your supplements Employees are knowable and helpful .Products are independently tested There foods are preservative free not full of additives . Don't expect your bread or bangles to last for over a week .....like any home made preservative free products their shelf life is short Freeze them and take out what you will use. This is what organic preservative free products are . Get your wonder bread at Walmart if you think that is food. Love the muffins filled with fruit and their soups are homemade . Great little natural food market read more

The moment you walk into this place, you can smell its organic...ness. If that's even a word. I haven't been into a market like this in a looong time and had fun perusing the aisles, looking at various things in awe and wonderment. They had so many random things, and it all looked so good! I agree that the prices are rather steep, but I think they're allowed to since they are probably the only market around that sells this type of food. Although, they do sell yogurt that you can find at the grocery store for way less. I ended up with a seitan vegan jerky that is mesquite and lime flavor, just 'cuz I wanted to see what it tasted like. And it tasted like nothing I have ever tasted in my life. And the aftertaste lingered for quite a while. I also got some mint chocolate that I had seen on the Travel Channel. And a strawberry beer (which I hope to enjoy tonight) from Europe. And kombucha! The trendy fermented tea drink that boasts all kinds of wonders for the body. I saw on the news that the prices are getting more expensive with their growing popularity. It was on sale for $1.99 (saved $1.20)! I enjoyed my very first bottle today and totally plan on going back before the sale ends and stocking up. Though it's kind of sketchy 'cuz it's not FDA-approved, it tastes good and maybe it is good for the body. We shall see if I grow another head. Hooray organic foods! read more

Update: PLEASE make more of your blackened tofu and I will promise to LOVE YOU forever. ps- I am not the only one who can not get enough- make more, sell more, boost the economy. wow. I am so happy I found this place in the land of strip malls. I just went in for the first time and got: a bottle of organic red wine, crackers, a huge thing of humus, a cafe indigo seitan wrap, cafe indigo apple bread (these people are amazing), a frozen amy's wrap thing, a macrobiotic/vegan noodle thing (that is huge), bulk curry cashews, bulk yogurt raisins, some dates and I only spent $35. (don't forget I got a bottle of wine). So much better/more of a selection/more vegan/vegetarian than whole foods or wild oats. This place is awesome. I think I am in love. update: ok. boo. they stopped carrying cafe indigo products. but they tell me that they are going to start making their own prepared (vegan?) foods. I am not sure they will have as amazing wraps and sweets as indigo suplied them with but i sure hope they do. read more

Awesome store. Great selection, prices and organic fresh produce! I found everything I needed, even had delicious vegan, gluten free muffins! People are really friendly and helpful. read more

I love A Market, in theory. I only take issue with them on the fact that they are expensive. Yes, organic grocery/specialty stores are.... but still, it is a "downfall". This is somewhere to go when they're having a sale, or, more often, when you need that hard to find item (typically, in my family, for Tofurky.... they have them year-round, and during the Holidays, sometimes the Trader Joe's closer to home runs out). Also, they DO have coupon books that they put out that are free, at the front of the store. Grab one and see if there's anything you might be interested in. I love love love to browse this store though. They have tons of cool things packed into the smallish store. The aisles can be a little tight, but, generally, the customer base is friendly enough so it's a non-issue. The parking lot, too, is small. However, they've expanded the strip mall behind it, so I guess you could park in their huge lot if it were really an issue. read more

The natural foods and pre-made food selection is great! All natural and fresh, the soup is amazing! However, a lot of the "all natural" food they offer you can find at other grocery stores nowadays for A LOT cheaper....they have to have at least a 50% markup on "healthy" snacks like the Food Should Taste Good brand chips and the Annie's soups and lentils. I've seen these products at Shaws and even MB for half the price. So I would go here for the veggies and prepared foods, but anything packaged you can get elsewhere for a lot cheaper. read more

Love A Market, it's right by my house. The prices are pretty awful as most natural food stores generally are. It wouldn't bother me except that we drive the half hour to the Trader Joe's in Tyngsboro, MA and get the same stuff for half the price. They do, however, have a good and fairly extensive alternative supplement section, and if you drink SmartWater, they sell huge 54oz bottle for $2.49, which is a bargain. Employees are very nice and educated. read more

I stopped shopping at this store about a year ago because of the way the employees handled an incident. My teenage sister and I were harassed in the parking lot and inside the store by some privileged jerk in a Lexus (probably their typical customer). Since it's a small store I'm sure that everyone could hear him and he proceeded to insult and berate us at the checkout line. We did not feel safe and the cashier offered to call over the (female) manager who shrugged and walked off as this was going on. Meanwhile, his cashier stood up for him because I "talked back" to a man twice our age who thought he was perfectly entitled to harass two young women. Absolutely atrocious customer service. This place is wayyy overpriced and 99% of the employees do not care about the customers. read more

I have shopped at A Market 4 over 30 years. I used to consider the store a source of Health Food & useful health information. Recently they have fallen short. They failed to realize that oxygen is as essential to health as is clean food. Rather than look at the research they have fallen into the abyss of lies & misconceptions. Since they are no longer allow healthy intelligent people into their store I refuse to shop there any longer and will take my dollars elsewhere read more

The only health food market I can find in the area. Stocked with all your essential au naturel goodies. A nice change from your Stop&Shops, Shaws, and Market Baskets. I like just browsing the aisles looking at the different things they carry, especially the bath products and lip glosses. Kind of pricey, as are most places like this, but it gets the job done. read more

A Market is expensive, but what natural food store isn't? Oh, yeah, Trader Joe's. But A Market has many things that TJ's doesn't, so A Market is pretty good if you want organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc. read more

Sure, they have a great variety and selection of health food - especially if youre gluten free (like me). But on my first visit last week, I purchased over $50 worth of items (not many items, I may add), half of which went bad within 4-5 days after purchasing. I dont know how long they keep their products on their shelves, but their gluten-free bagels - BAD in a week (molded and I only got to eat three out of the six), GF millet bread - BAD in 3-4 days (mold growing on it and I was only able to eat about half of the loaf...even though I purchased the bread 2 days before the expiration date). Otherwise - their products are pricey. I paid $10 for organic peanut butter. Why? I dont know. I needed it. Sure, its good. But $10? It wasnt anything else but organic. Teddy makes organic peanut butter too, and its $4 at Shaws. Like most health food stores, they ride on the waves of being *health elite*....young/middle aged health conscience liberals, you know the type...that complain about the poor not having access to healthy food? yea - those people..Stores like this are a walking contradiction in themselves. I made the mistake of blowing fifty bucks here. read more

I love to go on for their daily soups. I would typically get a salad as well, but they rarely have grab and go dressing choices anymore - so that's disappointing. The coffee in the morning is a great convenience as well! I can almost always find the things I need that are hard to find in larger chains without needing to splurge at whole foods. read more

I love this place and wish they were in Plaistow as it is a long ride to get there. But, as a gluten free person with other health issues, it's worth the ride. However, they did not have a few things I specifically was looking for today so hence the 4 star vs. 5 star rating. I wish there was a better selection of gluten free breads. I was very pleased to find GF pie crusts as well as GF egg rolls today. I look forward to those. I will be back and I am hopeful for more and more things in the future! Also, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Exciting Store! What a fun place to shop! This is a more personable small version of Whole Foods which actually very enjoyable to shop. The layout is customer friendly, the staff is always smiling and energetic, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable for the quality of product you're getting. Not a health-food nut? It's okay... check out the amazing selection of top-quality LOCAL micro-brew beers, ales, and ciders! The *only* confusing (funny) 'speed-bump' we ran into was the use of the mini-carts and baskets. The store offers two types of hand baskets and two types of carts, the smaller of the carts requires you to use a certain hand basket. Once we were teased by another customer about how funny our cart looked, we figured it out and were ready to shop! Keep up the good work. I can only hope Whole Foods doesn't come into the city and hurt these guys! read more

I really love this store. Staff is friendly, positive and very helpful. Open 7 days a week, same hours each day - 8am-8pm. The prepared on the go foods are the best quality I've ever seen. Nothing unnatural added. Just like you'd make it at home, if you had the time. Yes, you could get cheaper prepared items at Market Basket or Hannaford, but have you ever read the label? I do shop around and get certain things at Market Basket but for organic produce and bread this is my go-to store. ALL of their produce in organic, unlike other stores where about 10% of the items they sell are. And the in-season prices cannot be beat. I found strawberries and raspberries on sale for between $2.99-$3.99/package all summer long. Try finding that at Hannaford! I found $5.99 or $6.99 there instead. There are definitely good deals here. You really need to shop around, price check and read labels to be sure you're comparing apples to apples. The store is small, yet there is a wide variety. You can get all of your groceries and supplements here (Granted, supplements can be a little pricey though they do have sales to watch for.) Plus their bulk section is really nice and has a wide variety of staples. Great way to save money, especially for families. I really like their rewards program. $25 gift card for every $400 you spend, plus double points days each month. I haven't seen anything like this at Market Basket or Hannaford so it's a really nice added bonus. It is also very clean and the staff is constantly picking over their items, removing anything undesirable and adding fresh options. Again, they're friendly friendly as they do this. Actually turn around, smile and say, "hi, how are you?" I truly can't think of anything negative to say about this store! read more

Awesome store. Friendly, very knowledgable employees and TONS of products you can't find elsewhere. Even their packaged/premade soups/sandwiches/dishes are fresh and awesome. Great selection of supplements, oils, and natural beauty care products!! read more

The best natural food store in the Manchester area. They have wonderful prepared soups and deli items. Large selection of gluten free foods, supplements and bulk items. Some items can be pricey as you can get the same thing at Hannaford down the street for much less money. There Rhode Island location has a cafe and I wish they would bring one to Manchester. read more

Fairly extensive selection of fresh vegetables (organic and conventional), dairy, meat (fresh and frozen), bulk goods, and supplements. Pleasant staff and loopy customers. This is where I shop when I need a good Greek style live yogurt or dried organic french lentils. But I'll be damned if I pay $6.99 a pound for a head of garlic when it's $1.99 across the parking lot at Shaw's. read more

They have great selection of natural foods from produce to frozen items. The quality is there, but this place isn't cheap. I only come here for the foods I can't find in my regular grocery store. read more

Love the selection, great staff. My only complaint is many items that are overpriced leaving me to go to a box chain. No, I don't mean specialty items. e.g. Salsa, ketchup (organic ville), bio nature pasta, Barbara's cereal, etc.... I like one stop shopping, please at least stay competitive with market price. read more

I love the fact that I can ask about any product on the shelf, and I get a wealth of information about any product they have. It's a small business that supports local farmers, I'll pay the little bit extra for fresh ingredients. read more

This place is great. Yes the prices are kinda high but at least you know you are buying quality stuff. I mostly buy their herbal and homeopathic remedies, which is much better than buying online and paying for shipping. If you have questions, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and will help you pick out the best supplement/remedy. read more

A Market is a great alternative to the organic sections of the various supermarkets in Manchester. I wouldn't buy all of my food there (considering a baby watermelon was $9.99 each and on sale at Shaws for $3.99 each) but great place to supplement your groceries. Prices did seem a bit high, but you expect that from this type of store. Friendly staff and good selections as well read more

A Market has many vegan/vegetarian/organic specialty items you will not find in the big supermarkets here. The produce is always fresh and although buying organic can be pricey--you may find some bargains. The sales here in general are great. Nice Belgian beer selection. read more

Great place to shop, but DON'T buy beer here. Much of it is dated over a year old. Check closely.

Great selection of natural and organic foods, and a vibrant and educated staff. Some products are pricey and can be found cheaper in the natural section of some supermarkets, but with products always coming/going due to customer consistency/loyalty, you always know you'll find what you need at A Market. I LOVE their rewards program, too! read more

I come here a lot because I work near-by. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices are a little high, but I feel like all organic stuff is pricey. Their soups, sandwiches and meals are always yummy! read more

Staff was excellent in providing service and helping find certain items. Walking around the store and other staff members said "hi". Check out was quick and easy. Good food to choose from. 11/22/14 10am. More businesses should pay attention to customer service like A-1. I would go anywhere as long as the product is great and the staff is excllent read more

I really love this place. Everyone is super nice, friendly, and they don't look sickly like so many 'health' food places. They have raw milk, organic veggies, their pre-prepped food is very good and it's the only place I can get some of the stuff I like. Yes, some of it is cheaper elsewhere as regular grocery stores expand their organic food selections, but there are still many things I can only get at A-Market, and they are well worth it IMHO. They have a rewards card that gives you 25$ gift cards for every 500$ spent, double points on supplements and the customer appreciation days are so much fun. The trick is to comparison shop, if you can get some of the same stuff at your regular store, then do so, I don't shop solely at A-Market, I come for the things I can only get here. For that and their great service, this place is a favorite. read more

I love A Market. Their customer service knows about food, and knows how to help whenever I have a question. But, they are overpriced so I do try to find other organic goodies else wear, and if they don't have it my last resort is A Market. Overall, the store is very clean, and their produce is VERY fresh! read more

Nice store, lot's of fresh organic fruits and veges, really good homemade soups made fresh daily, tons of gluten free stuff, all the vitamins and supplements you could ask for, and a nice bunch of people who work there. Unfortunately they have some have some really high prices on things that you can get at Hannaford's or Market Basket at much lower prices. read more

I was disappointed with A Market on my last visit. Their selection is small (for instance, for single serve yogurt they seemed to only have Greek and everything was loaded with sugar.) And they didn't have Stonyfield milk, so I got the Organic Valley instead. Not a huge deal and I understand that they're small but it's just annoying. Also the prices are through the roof! I'm not a very price conscious shopper but even my eyeballs bulged out looking at the stickers. Maybe you have to have their loyalty card to get the discounts but that's another annoying thing in my opinion. And they're not overtly rude or anything but staff has never seemed very friendly either....no one offered to help or smiled or anything. Kind of a dreary experience overall. read more

I really like this place a lot. I do shop around and get some organic produce at Market Basket or Hannaford since those places are cheaper for things like citrus and packaged spinach, but A-Market has a large selection of unpackaged organic produce and those are well-priced. I LOVE that they have a large selection of items from local producers (cheese, yogurt, meat, butter, milk, eggs, bread, etc.). The staff is always super helpful and friendly and their rewards program ($25 coupon for every $500 you spend) makes the prices on their other things (like grass-fed Annie's mac & cheese) comparable to other stores. Plus, it's a small, family-owned business. I love supporting this place! read more

This is my second review of Market! My last one was pulled, so here's hoping... The store is always very clean and well stocked seems to be someone always replenishing the shelves. I went to the ready made food section and bought a brownie and Greek salad. The salad was very good but could have used way more feta, it looks like alot, but it is a small amount spread out. The brownie was all right, but a vast improvement over my last baked good purchase!! I keep seeing that they might open a restaurant next store, but it hasn't yet arrived. Still waiting for a TJs to find us up here!!! read more

I have been to many natural food markets, but this place is litigously expensive. Most items, I could have gone to shaws for $2 less, ex. Rice Milk - $5.09 at A Market, $3.99 at Shaws, Ezekial bread, etc. I even told them their prices were outrageously uncompetitive and don't know how they stay in business. Whole Foods has a much broader and fresher veggie and fruit assortment for much lower prices. Will never go here again. It's basically legal extortion if you chose to pay for their pricey rental space and whatever else goes into their pockets. There are plenty of Natural Food Markets that don't dare charge the prices they do. Their selection is common, nothing new. read more
