Since it was our first visit, we walked up to the bar and explained that we're not IPA fans and asked if we could sample a few beers. The staff was super friendly and happy to let us try different options. We ended up really liking the Waterfront Lager and ordered micheladas. Their michelada mix is AMAZING. The Palmdale location is drinks only (no food), but the atmosphere and service made for a really fun night. Fast forward to yesterday. My husband and I had a date night and remembered how much we liked the beer, so we decided to check out the Lancaster location since they also serve food. When we walked in, the place was packed and there were only two girls working the entire floor. Even though they were clearly super busy, they were still very friendly and upfront that there would be about a 15-minute wait for a table. We appreciated the honesty, so we waited patiently and eventually got seated. We found out that the Lancaster location doesn't always have the same beers as the Palmdale brewery location, so unfortunately they didn't have the Waterfront Lager we loved. We were a little bummed, but our waitress gladly brought us samples so we could find something else we liked. We ended up ordering a lighter blonde beer since many of the others were too hoppy for our taste. We also tried their handmade mango and pineapple micheladas and WOW! both were so good. The food was delicious too. We ordered the totchos (loaded tator tots), 6-piece hot wings, and the Asian sliders. Everything came out fresh and flavorful. Even though they were slammed busy, the waitresses continued checking on us regularly throughout the night. Overall, it ended up being a really great date night. The ambiance is casual, fun, and welcoming, and both locations gave us excellent service. Lucky Luke is definitely going to become one of our regular date night spots moving forward!

I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. The staff is wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the upscale décor makes the whole experience feel special. Because she was cleaning while we placed our order, she was not the person who actually took my order. When our food was handed to us, I noticed that the BBQ sauces were missing. I simply asked where the BBQ sauce was. Instead of politely checking the order or asking the employee who had actually taken it, the young employee raised her voice at me and insisted that I had never ordered four BBQ sauces. I absolutely did order them, and my wife was standing right there with me and heard me place the order. What bothered me even more was that this employee had not even taken my order, yet she argued with me about what I had or had not ordered. Even if there had been a misunderstanding, there was no reason to yell at a customer over something as simple as BBQ sauce. A polite response and an attempt to resolve the issue would have been enough. Unfortunately, this was not our first bad customer-service experience at this same location. Last year, my wife and I came here for breakfast. I ordered a Tom's Signature Omelet, and my wife ordered her breakfast. My wife received her meal, but the employee handing out the food gave my breakfast to another customer who had just walked in and sat down at a booth. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What bothered me was how the situation was handled. Nobody from the restaurant apologized to me for the mix-up. After two separate experiences like this, I'm extremely disappointed. Customers should be treated respectfully, especially when there is a mistake or misunderstanding with an order. Yelling at a customer and failing to apologize when an order is mishandled is unprofessional and unacceptable customer service. I hope management at Tom's Restaurant on Avenue J takes this seriously and works with its staff on professionalism, communication, and how customers are treated.
