I'm giving Dr. Steve Henderson, and co, the full 5 stars.
I've had severe back pain for years, and i travel a fair bit, my back pain is always made worse when I'm walking round airports, with luggage, and it really exacerbates my sciatica, my spinal curvature, and what i thought, was the onset of osteoarthritis (I Googled it, so i self diagnosed it)
I had an unfortunate experience a few years ago, at a Chiropractor, which put me off for life. Namely, I'd damaged my back at Chena Hot Springs, standing under that strong spout of water that comes out of the rock, and sprained a rib. I was in a lot of back pain. The pain migrated to around the front, near my heart. Husband forced me to go to Chiropractor, because i was too terrified to go to the doctors, (after Googling, i was convinced i had pancreatic cancer, I was crying, asking him if he'd stay with me if I'm dying, the whole shebang. Yeah Google, you suck) So anyway, this Chiro, i tell him I'm epileptic, and TENS machines are contraindicated, because of the electrical stimulus possibly causing seizures. The nurse lays me on a bed, with a triangular foam I'll thing under me, and because of my back curvature, this pillow thing is killing me, so i take it out. Anyway, he tells me I've sprained a rib, and nothing else seems wrong after he examined me. He did some adjustments, and told me to come back the next day, which i did. Again, they tried to put me on a TENS machine, and put the triangle of foam under me. I lost patience with them. The rib was obviously going to heal on it's own.
Anyway, 4 years later, I'm in a world of pain, stopped smoking, gained 50 pounds, sciatica on both sides, hyperlordotic curvature in my spine, and what i believe to be osteoarthritis starting in my hips. Gradually losing weight slowly, but it's not really easing the pain, and I lose my temper with a friend who wants me to come to Zumba. I literally can no longer leap about like i did in my 20's.
I was telling my friend, she says go see Steve. And I didn't just get one word-of-mouth recommendation, i had no less than 4 friends who tell me he is THE BEST in Anchorage. So i make an appointment. I really honestly don't hold out much hope at this point, as i feel i won't see much improvement in my back till i lose a significant amount of weight, and that's on me. But i go, meet Dr. Steve, who is very nice, very thorough, and of course, I have people in common with him, and I'm not worrying, and I get cracked mercilessly. The subluxations (adjustments) are a little scary sounding, especially the neck and skull noises when they crack. But i kid you not, i have not felt one pain in my hip since my three visits. My sciatica has been minimized to the point that i have felt maybe two or three twinges, that did not hang around. I literally could not believe that in 3 visits, I felt so great. I truly believe that when I've lost more weight, i will feel even better, but i do have Dr. Steve on speed dial just in case.
Thanks Frontier Chiropractic. I'm a happy customer read more
