The representative we talked to assured us that he had booked the flight for two upon checking this evening into this flight I discovered that he only booked for my wife and not for myself. This was extremely frustrating. I had a flight credit of $555. we finally straightened it out with a very kind lady in customer service who could actually speak English. This was a total nightmare.

Knowing that Hawaii has very strict Covid testing/quarantine rules, I diligently researched the best method of testing for him. Only a small number of testing facilities are approved by the State. Rules are very defined that testing must be done no more than 72 hrs before flight and must be downloaded to the system prior to boarding final Hawaii bound flight. The only "Hawaii Trusted" testing location in SD, is Walgreens Sioux Falls. Upon talking with the pharmacy there I was informed that all tests are sent to Denver and results may not be available within the 72 hr timeline. A Vault Health mail in test was recommended to me by the Hawaii State Dept of Health, its done over zoom, sent overnight mail and results within 72 hrs. So we ordered the Vault Test, he took it on Monday Dec 14th, sent overnight UPS from Brookings and received results Tuesday evening. He uploaded results to the required Hawaii Safe Travels system, it was approved and he was given a QR code that verified it'd been accepted by the State of Hawaii. Upon arriving for his 9:30 am outbound Denver connection on Thursday 17th, he was denied boarding the plane! A United Gate Agent told him, it was not an adequate test. What gives this Agent the ability to interpret medical tests results, I have no idea! Especially since it'd already been approved by the State of Hawaii. He was told they could re book him for Friday 18th, but by that time his 72 hr test was invalid. The agent then told him, he could take a Rapid Test nearby in Sioux Falls, but this was bad information as well since there are no "Hawaii Trusted" Rapid Testing facilities in town. After checking with the Hawaii Dept of Health, I was informed that a new approved Rapid Test was now available in the Denver Airport. Unfortunately, there were no testing slots open on Friday, facility is not open over weekend and Monday was the earliest test he could take. So he had to be re booked for a Sunday evening flight to Denver, spend the night in a Hotel, and retest Monday morning before his outbound Hawaii flight. The error of this Gate Agent, has cost me $200 for an additional Covid Test, $100 for a hotel, and my son lost 4 days out of a 12 day trip! United has done very little to correct this or reimburse me for anything. I've gone back and forth with the online customer service, which is the only contact they provide for any complaints...they will not even give me a call. They've blamed us for not having the correct test, when in fact I sent them the negative test results, plus the QR code that showed the test was approved by the State. Also they've totally misread the Hawaii testing mandates, because nowhere does it state that folks are not allowed to travel without a test. It simply explains what is required to avoid the 10 quarantine, it doesn't ban travel. Folks can still fly here without test results, they just have to quarantine if it's not done correctly and in the required time frame. No other airlines are banning folks from boarding and traveling. I know of two others who traveled the same week with the exact same test results and they had zero issues! I'm so discussed that UA will not even read give me a call, refuses to attempt to make this right in any way, and is dismissing my complaint and trying to place the blame on us, when we did everything by the book. I'm seriously considering Legal Action!!!

Yeah, so maybe all the bigger airlines aren't lined up like they are in Minnesota/St. Paul, yet my Airlines I usually fly are here for my flying pleasure. The Airport itself is never really crowded and chaotic like bigger airports tend to be., And that's what keeps me coming to South Dakota, I live in SWMN so for me it's a 90-minute drive that I find to be peaceful and scenic, and I love the quick drop-offs and pick-ups. The staff is always extremely helpful from check-in till you reach your gate This past winter, the Airport finished up a new indoor long-term parking structure that's directly across and steps from the front entrance too. I highly recommend the Sioux Falls airport to all my friends visiting from the West Coast, it's quick, Clean and efficient Way to do it South Dakota!!

Coffee downstairs also, believe it was Caribou. Arrival and departure boards are prominently displayed. Chargers abound although a good number of outlets are duds. TSA security is fairly simple. Metal detectors and bag scanners. Some neat aviation cloud artwork on the neighboring wall. Private screening rooms if you prefer private TSA gropings. Friendly staff and you're through in minutes and off to your gate. Restaurant or coffee shop/bar past security. That's basically it apart from some vending machines. Maybe about ten gates with a play area for little ones. Normal seats with huge windows to look outside and pass the time. Free wifi. Apart from that it's your normal airport. Service to Denver and Minneapolis. Nearby airports and maybe Texas. Got the vibe this was a larger airport than Rapid City but I could be wrong.

Stood in line in the same spot over 40 mins. Workers are slow and keeps chatting and not doing their job. Gate wasnt posted online, in the app, or even printed on our boarding tickets so we had to ask around for where we were supposed to be. Airplane had no windows where we were, and the table trays are tiny. No leaning back. My chest was almost touching the seat in front of me. Never fly allegiant.

While American Airlines canceled our flight due to maintenance and then we missed our connection due to another delay of American air American got me on a United flight to ensure I made my destination on Friday, here we are Monday and American Air has delayed our flight 4 times, forcing us to miss our connection again , and Melanie let us know United had flights to get us home on time but she would not be helping us because she can get us on n American flight landing tomorrow instead. Why would you feel the need to tell me you could help me but you choose not to? I explained that this was done on Friday and she talked over me the whole time, refused to answer my questions , Told me she was not going to get me on another carrier , she was done talking to me, she refused to answer any questions , spent all of 4 min with me and then said she was going back to work and walked away. It's such a sad situation when people are promoted simply because they have been around so long. She gives all South Dakotans a bad name and American Air needs to look into a more suitable job for her, she should not be customer facing. It's a bad look for the Sioux Falls airport and a bad look for American Air.

I paid online for my checked luggage. the ticket counter staff sat and argued with us over a cpap machine and small soft sided cooler holding injections. both of those items don't count towards your carry on or personal item. I wish you could list that you have those items at ticket purchase so that they were listed as special instructions on your boarding pass. a person really should have to go through all that. but if she would have been polite, it would have been fine. she was very rude.

He was 10mins early, his driving was the best! None of this slamming on the breaks or sharp turns nonsense. He was friendly, accommodating, a listening ear, professional from start to finish, and stayed close through out this whole process. They picked up my son and his wife from the Sioux Falls airport and drove them through a snowstorm to Mitchell. They had missed a connection in Denver from San Jose due to weather and had to take a late flight to try to get to their grandmother's visitation service. No other limo service was available because of holiday light bookings. The owner's wife volunteered to take them in her personal auto. There are not enough stars in the world to rate people like this.
