The flight #87 out of Cancun with Frontier Airlines is the worst experience I have had in the last 77 years!! This is saying a lot since I'm a retired disabled veteran who served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Just Cause. We checked in at the gate then we had to take a bus ride to the freight terminal on the other side of the airport due to problems they wouldn't tell us.The bus ran a couple of trips with over 70 people standing up and was very crowded, hot, uncomfortable and hard to breathe . It felt like we were a herd of cattle being rounded up for saluter. We were all pressed together touching each other and they were trying to squeeze additional people in the bus. We arrived at the plane and there was a stair ramp with about 30 steps straight up to the door of the plane to load. We had to climb the steps carrying our own carry on bags. With all of us standing there waiting in a long line to board on the hot tarmac, the temp was extremely hot and the smell of the jet fuel and the carbon monoxide was gaging us. This was a major chore also for the senior and elderly with no assistance from anyone. We paid extra for the upgrade to seats 5A and C going down and 6A and C returning. We were the last two to be seated on the plane and the overhead compartments were taken by the flight crew and my bag was taken to area seat 20. which was 14 rows to the rear of the plane. I was informed by the smart A@@ male flight attendant that when the plane lands I would have to go and retrieve my bag in the opposite direction of de-boarding ! I was informed by the flight attendant that their bags had priority over mine and by LAW stated their bags had to be there in bin 5 and 6 even though I had paid for those compartments. The entire flight was a major joke and I will never fly Frontier Airlines again. read more

Never even waste any time or money on this airline, my husbands flight was cancelled last minute due to crew shortage, come to find out the pilots did not show up to work. Absolutely terrible. My friend went to go to the bathroom and a lady yelled at her to sit back down. A few minutes later, she let a few 8 year old kids into the bathroom and they didn't leave for a good 20 minutes. Everyone else was allowed to go to the bathroom but my friend. Days later, frontier told me they moved the flight back up so now the flit was only an hour later than the original time so they would not issue a refund. The entire process is awful. The workers won't even address you in line until exactly 2 hrs before your flight so we stood in the front of the line with 5 workers facing us playing on their phones for 17 minutes before anyone addressed us. Uploading the passport info into the app never works and times out & deletes the progress you've made, the flight attendants are rude, and paying $75 one way per bag is absolutely ridiculous. For anyone considering the Go Wild Pass, don't do it. We tried it for the Fall/Winter season and for the $299 we each paid for a pass, have only been able to use it successfully just once. It is available for most any flight, but only a certain percentage of seats are allocated for Go Wild. We found the flight we wanted and according to the reservation page, there were plenty of seats available. But when we looked for the exact same flight through the Go Wild, there was nothing available. Unless you have a two or three day window of days you can travel or return, getting the exact dates you need will be difficult. Better to just book a regular flight--they are pretty cheap. Better yet, just spend the money and use a different airline altogether. read more

The two daypacks would have to go into the overhead bin. The red bag and laptop briefcase fit under the seat. I have not flown an airplane since 1981 and seriously doubt after this trip if I will ever fly again! We found out the prices on the baggage by looking at the Frontier Airlines website and confirming the information with a Frontier Airlines agent. One way flight from Orlando to St Louis. The kiosk was available for us to print off our boarding pass prior to out flight, just like we have done every time before. The kiosk then said to down load the app to our smart phone. I downloaded the app but it came to a point that gave me an ERROR. The kiosk wasn't going to give me the boarding pass, not the app has an error. The only other idea I had was to go the the counter. Well, that will be $25 per boarding pass to print off. I explained that the kiosk was didn't give them as they usually do and the app didn't work. They didn't have any sympathy. I had 10 boarding passes to print off. While at the counter i placed my personnel bag down. The agent said that I needed to check that bag or have it charged as a carry on. I said that I came down with it under the seat on Southwest. It's the same size plane. She said that didn't matter and I was charged $79. "Low Fares - Done Right" is their slogan and that very well be true but if you are flying with a family or other people that you want to sit with you will need to buy your seats. Low fair of $39 is great, seats cost $$$, plus the luggage $$$. Your $39 just became $139 real fast. Beware of the low fare. We will avoid flying Frontier from now on. If their competitors can have the bags fly free so can Frontier. WOW what a concept, having great fares and your luggage flyes free...... read more

When I booked Frontier I thought out would be like any other airlines. You are paying for your seat and if you wanted a premium seat then you pay for it.. Boy was I wrong. They nickle and done you for EVERYTHING! When choosing your seat, you can choose $12, $16, $24 and $45 seats. No free seats people..they charge you for the airline seat! For luggage..you pay from $25 - 50 for your first bag. Guess my bag was small so it was only$25 but I'm sure if I brought my larger luggage I'd be paying closer to $50. Oh and they will be charging for carry on luggage too. That's an additional $30. So if you're on a budget..don't fly FRONTIER...They will RIP YOU OFF. I recommend any other airlines. While the initial airfare ticket is inexpensive, the add-ons for a carry-on and checked luggage are $40 each. And make sure you do it prior to your trip or you will be charged even more at the gate. Then add on the taxes and fees. So just be aware when you book and buy. The waiting area doesn't have any chargers like the Southwest terminal. There wasn't anyone at the Frontier desk in the gate for long periods of time. However, when it came time to board (only a few minutes late), the staff member was friendly. Upon boarding the plane the staff were all friendly and light music (similar to what you'd hear while on hold for a call), was playing throughout the plane. The attendants did a role call for certain passengers and had them press the call button if they were onboard, which I've never encountered before. Like everything else, snacks and drinks are an extra charge. There isn't any WiFi or in-flight entertainment available. Flight was a bit bumpy, but we landed on time! read more

Departure flight was 3 hours delayed due to a ​mechanical​ issue. I did receive email and text alerts telling me it was delayed, but 3 hours is a long time to sit in an airport when you have to be 2 hours early for an international flight. Staff was not that great and you had to purchase a drink. Water wasn't an option. They did offer a $10 breakfast voucher to be used prior to boarding and then we received 2 traveling vouchers, $75 and $50. Of which could not be combined and had to be used within 90 days. Seats were suboptimal, small, hard, did not recline. Overall I probably will not use Frontier again and would not recommend. read more

I have to admit that my experience with Frontier was a bit rushed simply because I ended up booking my flight while standing in the baggage claim line after Southwest ended up cancelling my flight due to severe weather in my connection city. Needless to say this cancellation left me in a bit of a bind, luckily Frontier had a direct flight to my final destination of Cancun available so it was a no brainer. While it was no part of Frontier, I had less than an hour to get my bags off my Southwest flight and claim them, make my way to another terminal, check-in, go back through TSA however it ended up working out leaving me 15 minutes to spare. What was great, was that the staff at the Frontier counter were super friendly and accommodating and assured me that I would make my flight despite my last minute booking. Booking was very easy, with basic fares coming in at a reasonable value even considering I was booking my flight an hour before departure. However what Frontier does differently is that they charge you for the extras like seat selection, checked bags, and carry on items or you can upgrade to The Works Package and even get priority boarding and a refund on your ticket if needed. Overall The Works puts the flight closer in line to a standard ticket, so it might be worthwhile to upgrade to The Works. The boarding process was very easy and painless, once on board the staff was friendly. The interior of the plane seemed new, the seats were spacious (more so than Southwest) however the tray table was pretty small so don't count on setting up a laptop during the flight, my iPad was a tight fight. Another downside was that the seats didn't recline, however they were more than adequate and very comfortable so that really didn't matter to me. Beverage service is not complimentary, however drinks/snacks were reasonably priced and there were often bundle prices which saved you money if you made several purchases together. Overall Frontier delivered in a bind, and because of this I will gladly consider them when booking my next trip. read more

This was my first flight on Frontier Airlines. Truthfully, I don't even think I had heard of them or at least just never paid attention. When we were scheduling our return flight back from California, our options that left after 2pm, were few and far between unless I wanted to get back in St. Louis at midnight. So Frontier it was. When we arrived at John Wayne Airport in Orange County we walked immediately to the front counter. No line, 3 people waiting to assist and everyone with a smile on their face. Good start. We loaded the plane in zones sililar to others. The plane was a new one, very nice with individual tv's in the head rest. Nice touch! I didn't end up using it but like the fact that I could have. First impressions are important and they closed the deal on this one. I will now be looking at Frontier Airlines as a viable option when I travel. read more
