Arrival into StL was without issue and bags were off quickly - no major complaints about Southwest on this trip. It's been a few years since I've flown Southwest and certainly not since they did assigned seats and bag fees. Still, the plane was larger and newer and more spacious than Delta and American and plenty of room for bags. I had a great flight coming into St. Louis Missouri and going out back to Las Vegas. Southwest Airlines is one of the main carriers at the St. Louis Lambert International Airport. It operates out of Terminal 2 or Concourse E in the Airport. Since 1985, Southwest has been a part of St. Louis network. The infrastructure has expanded over time at Terminal 2 East side or the E Gates for Southwest. With Southwest operating from the same terminal and concourse at St. Louis, this helps with connection times! The location of the ticket counters, check in kiosks, bag drop, security checkpoints, and all gates are in the Terminal 2 / Concourse E area. There is no need to transfer to other terminals at this airport if you're flying Southwest, which is great! When I left for Las Vegas on a Tuesday evening around 5:00 P.M, it was quick to go from the gate! I had to check in my bag first. Luckily, the self service kiosk was easy to use. I scanned my bar code, purchased the check bag for 1, and then brought it to the bag drop off. Going through security was fast! There wasn't any lines at this terminal! It took about 5 minutes to get through security and an additional 10 to get to the gate! Boarding for the flight was on time, with no delays! This is great airport to fly with Southwest! read more

Just got my luggage back. It was damaged, looked like someone tried to claw their way in. Brand new suitcase checked at DAL without any damage. Called southwest and they told me to go back to STL to file a damaged bag report, even though it was declared damaged at DAL for some reason. They told me to go through a supervisor because the agent told me they can't do it. So, we turned around and came back to this airport to talk to baggage claim support and they wouldn't file a report. The supervisor came and wouldn't do it for me. Now I'm left without a suitcase and no way to buy a new one. $50 voucher for Southwest won't get me a new suitcase back. Hope Southwest can get their stuff together! read more

As fate would have it, I booked and flew on SWA the first day of assigned seating. This took place due to a weather-related cancellation on American Airlines. "Choice extra" seemed the way to go. Though the seats included two bags (and we needed only one each) and an inflight premium drink coupon (which we didn't use) Therese H and I were happy about the extra legroom seats and flexibility to change our return a bit later than scheduled, if desired. On board the the stewardess always make sure that everyone is comfortable and has a snack or drink if needed. All in all a good experience. Boarding was easy, plane was less than half full (haven't sen that in years). Staff and flight attendants were all nice. My only complaint was I had two free drinks and the FA said let him know if I wanted a second. Guy across from me also told him he wanted a second beer but FA never came back. No turbulence or anything, just never came back for over an hour of remaining flight. read more

The good news for all the airlines is they are all equally bad. Southwest, or as I lovingly call it, Southworst. First step, you get herded into the boarding line like cattle at a state fair. Second step, marvel at the miracle of 20+ wheelchairs rolling on, but somehow by touchdown, everyone's healed. No wheelchairs necessary. Jesus must have been on this flight. Everyone is cured. Third step, share a cabin with once a lifetime vacationers who treat air travel like it's their first time on a roller coaster. Zero travel etiquette. My gosh today Southwest was absolutely horrible. However, the staff and the pilot were amazing. I was going to St. Louis. It took me 14 hours almost to get there from Sacramento. We were stuck on a plane for two hours on the tarmac and but the staff kept us entertained in a comment. They were very attentive Then on the way back there was another delay with the engine and then we almost missed my flight my connecting flight in Long Beach. Then we got on there and then I made it home and there was not even extra snacks given but the staff and everything was really good very accommodating .the pilot, He was very informative and kept us updated so the crew was absolutely amazing but Southwest I need you to do better and I love you guys read more

Southwest Airlines has always been my airline of choice, I am giving a 3 star because of my most recent experience. I was on time for my 7:50am flight, the check in process went smoothly I have TSA precheck I believe that helped alot. Once I arrived to my gate I received a message stating the flight was delayed for 30 minutes okay no big deal, then shortly thereafter another text message came with a flight delay then another then another. The last flight delay message came making me aware that the flight would not leave until 1:30pm, because of the flight delay I missed my ride from the airport that I was landing at, Southwest did offer a 30 dollar meal voucher for 2, which was nothing special as expensive as airport food is in this day and that didn't compare to the amount of money that was spent on 2 plane tickets, I know thinks happen but I really disappointed in Southwest Airlines this go round. I am also sending an email to Southwest Airlines as well. read more

I know SW airline is a low cost airline and am very aware of the open seating, however when you have paid for as many seats this year as I have, I have almost 100,000 points and I get a C09 boarding position, that tells me I am not valued. I flew everyone to a wedding, took another trip to the coast and a few other flights mixed in and still a C! I clicked on my phone the moment the clocked turned to the boarding time, 24 hours before and still I get a C position. My friends who I paid for there seats got both A & B positions. There is something wrong with there system and I will not be flying with them in the future. I will sell my points on line and do business with a company who values me as a good customer. read more

A few years back I bought tickets for my grown kids and my boyfriend at the time to go to NOLA to visit my daughter. I had to change the dates which left us with approx $200 each in flight credits. We do not fly often, but when I did decide to go again, I was not able to use any of the credits because they were in my kids and boyfriends names. I PAID FOR THESE ALL WITH MY CREDIT CARD!!!! They refused to let me use them. Since then, luckily all the kids have been able to use theirs, I just booked a flight and am using mine. The one for my now Ex-boyfriend will just be left because I cannot use it and he will NEVER use it as he does not travel. Due to this, I will no longer book my flights with Southwest. I truly hope the $200 they refuse to let me use that I PAID FOR! is worth losing many thousands in future travel money. Sounds like and AWESOME business practice to me. read more

I've just seen far too many people roll up in a wheelchair and somehow, inexplicably, they have a miracle cure on the flight that allows them to walk up and down the isles. I mention this because they get priority seatings ahead of those who paid a premium for the front seats. I've never been at a Southwest Airlines console this unaccommodating, rude, and disorganized. A few of the other passengers waiting and I didn't see a sign saying we couldn't sit in a particular area. A worker promptly started sarcastically asking us ridiculous questions to get us to move. Further, the staff said they couldn't check me in because I was too early. Again, I've honestly never experienced this with any other airline, and it makes me reluctant to want to fly SW to St. Louis ever again. St. Louis to Las Vegas to Reno So another stellar flight from the folks at Southwest. They were delayed 30 minutes because of a late aircraft. But, the staff were focused and made up much of that time with quick seating and organization. All with some pretty dry humor. Know that there's a Southwest comedian with a pony tail in St. Louis whose funny as hell and every bit as efficient. The plane blitzed down the runway and was wheels-up before we knew it. Nice job. The wonderful ladies hooked us up with full cans of complimentary cola and water. The navigator dropped us south of a nasty thunder boomer that we got to watch out of the port side window. I'll share some footage with you. That maneuver added 15 minutes to the flight time but I feel it was well worth it. About the only down side was when Mother Nature selected my number, both rear bathrooms were occupied and one of the flight crew was using the third. I walked the plane a couple of times because you can't stand up near the front of the plane (we were in the second row). There's a whole homeland security issue with flight crew in the privy. The fly boys then did a tag team on the front potty while somebody was reading "War and Peace" in the back two. Now three of us are in the middle of the plane doing some bizarre pee-pee dance while Captain Chatty decides to chat-up the flight attendants. Of course, we can't approach the lavatory until Mr. Personality takes his dusty arse back to the cockpit and allows us to move freely about the cabin. A pretty quick flight with some kewl entertainment even though we couldn't really hear the cockpit announcements. But who really listens to those? 06/22 read more

For the two round trip flights, it was an added $460 to our "bargain fares." They didn't have assigned seating yet, but, because so many more people carried their luggage onto the plane, we were delayed in boarding because they kept trying to get people to volunteer checking their bags--for free (After we payed $460 to do the same thing right up front.) The flight attendants were not the usual Southwest happy people, They were harried and not smiling--you could tell they weren't happy with the changes and ended up taking the brunt of the passengers' unhappiness. No, I don't want another credit card and no, I don't want to be assigned seats away from my husband or seats that herd us like cattle. I just want Southwest to honor their promise to their customers of "Bags fly free," and "Bag fees, never had them, never will." This change is a definite breach of a promise that Southwest made to their customers. Poor choices,Southwest. I flew to Puerto Vallarta in January. We took American, they never lied to us. read more

Service and pricing seem to be my biggest two reasons for continued return. This review is specifically for the Saint Louis Lambert International Airport Southwest. Flight crews in and out were professional and flights were early arrival at the gate. I did have a computer glitch on departing from the kiosk checking a bag. A roaming customer service rep asked I go to the desk which had no line. Staff was apologetic and took care of my check quickly. She also chatted a bit which was nice. This was my first flight with Southwest since the airlines poor press for cancellations last month. I could sense they were trying harder to please travelers.
