Have no real complaints flying Delta to and back from St Louis on a business trip recently, Easy check in, TSA Precheck and Clear available so getting through security was a breeze, and they didn't lose my luggage. On board flight personnel were pleasant and professional. Only drawback are the total amount of flights available from LGA - St Louis, and the small cramped planes on this route. Both flights were those small commuter sized planes with two seats on either side, small overhead luggage pods, and barely enough head space to clear the top of the plane. If you're claustrophobic this might be a problem for some. Otherwise, both flights were on time and Delta does a good job. read more

We flew into and out of St. Louis using Delta recently with no issues. I'm a fan of Delta and am loyal to them almost exclusively as often as possible. Of all the current airlines I have the least problems with Delta. If I do have a problem, like earlier today on our return trip, I am notified via email, text, and on the app. The app also lets you rebook immediately and allows you to browse flight options to rebook at no cost instantly. This means no waiting to talk to a gate agent, no calling, no standing in line. It's wonderful. Recent issues with American and United do not go as smoothly. We were able to re-book our party of 5 within minutes and check everyone back in. When we arrived - the agent was super friendly and took care of all our bags and had a pleasant attitude. Everyone was kind to us and helpful. Our bags were easily tagged and checked in and we were free as birds in the airport with no baggage! Delta is doing it right! read more

Order: Flight to LAX from STL Pro: listen my behind was pushin it ha ha ha. Plane departure at 12:46pm arrived at airport 12:12pm. I did not have any checked bags but I had Global Entry/Pre Check. Delta is the only airline that is still blocking middle seats in the pandemic days, at least through the end of March. That's why when I do need to fly, I'd rather spend twice as much time flying Delta and a connection than flying American direct to Charlotte. At the ticket counter, I dropped off my large suitcase (winter boots and coat takes up a lot of room!) with a friendly and helpful agent who thanked me for my business and let me know the direction to the security checkpoint. STL has CLEAR and PreCheck so I was through in a jiffy where I had a 45 minute wait until boarding. The gate area is comfortable and the seats are distanced so that I could wait without someone right on top of me. When boarding was called, it was done with Delta's new procedures that loads top tier elite and first class passengers first and then the rest of the plane from back to front. Easy and there were markings in the jetway to help people with distances. On board, I was handed a Purell wipe from a masked flight attendant. The quick flight departed on time and landed on time. I just adored the best flight experience ever in my life and it was on Delta Airlines! I flew regular and first class. In my way to Oakland,CA... I flew regular class. And had to take 2-planes. The first leg of the trip was the best... a surprise note to EVERY PASSENGER was on our seats. Signed by our crew, hand written with out name and seat number! The 2nd leg of the trip I was sat in the back (where the seats do not recline--- the SORE NECK zone). I was not given an option to choose my seat. On my return trip to St. Louis, I decided to upgrade to a first class seat. ($89) first leg of the trip... nothing fancy but it sure was comfortable.... basic flight (no liquor, etc). No entertainment screen (movie/music). On the 2nd leg of the trip I got my window seat back!!! and enjoyed where I sat! All the seats have charging stations at your seat! On your seat or under the seat or on the tv monitor!! Tip(s): *bring a "plug-in" head set to listen to the music or watch a movie. Super tough week for airlines but customer service is always the piece you can mange and over deliver in. We saw tons of cancelled flights and too many less than empathetic employees. I understand the issue but I don't understand not having a plan in place to offset the huge blow, like food and shelter much less a new flight schedule. People including myself were trying to rest or find some a place to sleep as the hours tick by. More than one Delta employee told me to try the app and or customer service for help but those options were not working. Nothing was working. I saw one Delta flight captain actually buy his passengers Dominoes pizza delivered into the airport. You can't make this stuff up. It was terrible. I wish there was a happy ending but there was not, I had to book a new flight with a different airline or my other option was waiting for two more days for Delta to get me home. read more

Finally have the time to download yelp!!! :) Wanted to drop a quick thanks to delta for the numerous delays that made a 3 hour trip take nearly 24 hours! As per usual, my flight with delta was slower and more expensive than if I had just driven myself. Service and assistance was difficult to find and the app is not helpful. The one saving grace was the genuinely kind employees who can't help that they work for a company that makes fyre fest look like clockwork. Easy breezy enough. Delta isn't my preferred airline but they are certainly a hot commodity amongst travelers. The service is pretty on point as much as I'd hate to admit it. Attendants aren't the greatest but they are efficient, the planes are extremely comfortable and well equipped with tv monitors, USB ports for charging and select seating for extra elbow room. Was in boarding group main 2 and was told there was no more room on the plane for overhead luggage and everyone from the person in front of me on back would have to check our bags and would have to leave them at the bottom of the gangway.. got to my seat at 28E and the last 8 overhead bins were empty!! Got to stl and the front compartment of my bag had been unzipped and my Adidas pants were missing. I keep them in there when traveling from warm weather home to stl where it's cold. read more

Man if I could give them 0 stars that is what I would choose. I will never sink another penny into Delta. Wife and I went on our honeymoon. On the flight back, the plane is full, we're hitting the tarmac about to take off when the flight crew says that the "AC isn't working" on our plane. Wouldn't you think to check that before you even have people board the plane? Flight was delayed hours. They were very unprofessional. Delta has won me over ! I know the airline business is tough and stuff..but working from STL,the American Airlines and Southwest options were wearing me out. I reduced my travels a lot and generally hop whatever fits mys schedule and often buy or get upgrades. It's about the legroom when you are six foot five. Delta has consistently had cleaner aircraft, more engaged flight crews, and for some reason this translates to a quicker boarding, calmer passengers and less stress. Delta is very inconsistent and is obviously playing games with customers' money and time. Even complaints are blown off and justified to benefit the only company; customer service is a joke. Airline check-in agent asked to see an expired debit card even though the payment already drafted. No one is certain why this occurred. They had our money and saw our IDs, why is that not enough? We missed our flight and had to re-book which meant spending more money since refunds take "7-10 business days". Try another airline and don't waste your time and money with Delta. read more

I'm pretty loyal to American Airlines. A few months ago it came to my attention that Delta has moved into St. Louis with a pretty large flight schedule, direct flight, and cheaper prices than American. Like I saved almost $200 on exactly the same direct flight to LGA. That's a lot. I had a flight leaving STL at 6:55am on a Sunday morning. Obviously I had to get up pretty early to park the car and make it on time but I was there and ready to go and we boarded on time. We were told there was a generator issue on the plane and they had us deplane. I had to Lysol wipe my seat and area twice. We ended up taking off and arriving at LGA about 2 hours late. Was it the worst thing ever? No. Do these things happen? Yes. I was kicking myself for flying Delta though because they don't have the staff on the ground in STL to deal with something like this. Also, I think I picked up a virus on this plane that left me sick for three weeks! Obviously no way to tell for sure and no one's fault but this was a very rough start to a trip that's supposed to be relaxing. I can't for sure say I will be back. read more

The flight got cancelled not once, not twice, but 3 times. The wait for customer service each time was 2 hours! When we finally got ahold of them they couldn't do anything but reschedule the flight for the next day. We wanted to get reimbursed but got told we couldn't until we got to the final destination. Mind you, they couldn't do that but they could compensate us with vouchers up to $150 which is complete nonsense. How are we supposed to book with another airline if we can't get compensated until after the flight?! The loopholes Delta has to push you to continue to use them even after getting cancelled multiple times is disgusting. Early on in our relationship, we had some trust issues (are you REALLY going to get my bag back home? Why did you not call me when you knew you weren't going to show up on time?), but like all quibbles and quarrels, some open and honest communication (and several free drink coupons and bonus miles) allows us to get past that awkward feeling out stage.... Delta is really small at St Louis. They have 5 or 6 gates in Terminal 1. I could get in here from MSP, but not back out so I flew United. My flight was on time and service was fine. The only reason these guys are 2 star v 3 is lack of flights. read more

Can anyone who's a semi-frequent air traveler give any airline more than 3 stars? If you can, you're gonna have a hard time making a case to me. Here are just a few of my beefs with Delta: they lose baggage on a regular basis, flights are behind schedule (though this is partly the airports' fault as well), their onboard snacks are sub par, and the prices for tickets are particularly thrilling. Generally, I hold most airlines in this kind of esteem, but since I fly Delta more often (as Atlanta is its hub), I'm even more familiar with it. The planes are older, the seats uncomfortable, small, and who knows how often any surfaces get any kind of cleaning (especially tray tables, seat back pockets and armrests). I don't mind flying - it's the fastest way to get anywhere by far, but the whole hassle and general discomfort which doesn't end once you've stepped onto your plane has made me a less than enthusiastic traveler. Add to that the general air traveler population swathed in sweatpants, pajamas, track suits and fanny packs (most of whom are overweight and wedged into the seat next to me), and you've got a cranky traveler. While I enjoy people watching, I don't enjoy being squeezed between two people who both need to purchase an extra seat. Delta really needs to up their requirements for large people purchasing an extra seat - my friends and myself have both been victims next to these behemoths and it makes the flight, no matter how short, infinitely more excruciating. So there. That's what I think of Delta. It's the quickest way to get somewhere, but other than that, it's a pain. read more

I have never had an issue with delta. I have flown them several times and their service is great and timely. I was concerned because one of my tickets said I would have to reserve a seat at the counter 30 minutes before the flight. I asked the attendant and she instantly helped me pick a window seat and gave me an upgrade without me even asking. Only reason I downgrade a star is I prefer American Airlines because I am military and it is so much easier dealing with someone who states there military benefits instead of making you ask. I've always had good experiences with Delta. They offer snacks on every flight (usually peanuts) and I've rarely had any delays whatsoever. If anything, I think I've arrived early more often than late to my destinations. Knock on wood, they've also never lost my luggage which is a serious phobia of mine when flying. I'd also recommend signing up for their SkyMiles to get some good deals down the road if you're a frequent flyer. Brief complaint to get it on the record. Flight was delayed, no agent to tell us in Atlanta that we would miss our flight to Augusta, GA. We ran from end of terminal to train to next terminal to catch our flight to no avail. The agents must have ran as soon as the doors were shut to avoid the 6 customers who had missed their flight. I paid extra money to fly at convenient times and up until this weekend we only flew Delta. Not anymore, this was the second delay so our round trip wasn't just a one time thing. There were no weather problems. Plus our future flights at Christmas has also had changes that we didn't expect. read more
