First, they always show up when they say they will. Second, their plumbers know what they're doing. Third, their guys have pointed out a couple of potential issues along the way which weren't part of the original scope of work, but nonetheless were pretty helpful to know as a homeowner. I know that pointing out issues is kind of like upselling, but it actually didn't come across as upselling because there wasn't any pressure to do the work. And that information you get is pretty helpful. The only downside to working with them is the price. They are by far the most expensive plumber I've worked with in the area. I kid you not, one time I got an estimate from them and as I reviewed their email in the middle of a Zoom call, I literally said out loud "holy fucking shit bro" not realizing my mic was on, which was a bit embarrassing. That said, I later agreed to the proposal because nobody else was available as fast. So yeah their availability and their quick response time is definitely important to me. I don't always use Mike's, sometimes they get undercut on price by a company that can come out quickly. But I know that when I do hire them, I will be in good hands, though with a lighter wallet. On Monday, I discovered that our toilet in the 2nd bathroom was leaking and it appeared to be from…read morethe bottom of it. I called a few plumbers that were recommended and they were unable to do it before this Saturday or next week. A friend of a friend recommended Sea-Tite Plumbing. I called them Tuesday morning and spoke with Jennifer who said they could be here the next day (Wednesday) between 1 and 4PM. At 1:50PM Billy called and said that he was on his way and arrived about 10 or so minutes later. He inspected the toilet and said that the leak was coming from inside the toilet, coming through the toilet cover on top and then going down to the floor. (A better case scenario than I had feared.) He then replaced the fill valve and supply tube and finished about 40 minutes after he arrived. The total including tax came to $268. Considering how much plumbers cost, it seemed reasonable. I would definitely use them again. One thing to keep in mind. When I spoke with Jennifer to set up the appointment up, I asked how can I pay. She said they accept checks, credit card or cash. When I wanted to use a credit card to pay, Billy advised me that there is a 3.5% convenience fee charge to use my credit card. I then got my checkbook and payed by check so that I would not incur this 3.5% convenience fee. I was not aware of this prior when making the appointment.
