The Babe and I had a fabulous lunch here. We had the fried okra and fried cheese curds for appetizers and split a twofer bbq plate of brisket and chicken with the cole slaw side. Everything was very tasty, service was very good (thanks Crystal) and the ambience was quirky cool. my only complaint would be that the spicy cole slaw was spicy. This is our third time here and I am not sure I would come for a fourth. The atmosphere is pretty cool and the staff have always been nice but, BBQ should be tender, juicy & flavorful. Today was definitely not that. I had a combo plate with brisket and kielbasa. Both were very dry, seemed over cooked and no flavor. I was having a hard time cutting the brisket with a knife and then it was just dry and chewy. Then the kielbasa was just dry and just tasted like charcoal. My wife had a burnt end bowl and she said the burnt ends were OK, but the green beans are apparently cooked for so long that they are just mushy-almost baby food. We were visiting family in Colorado and heard about Front Range BBQ. So we decided to try it out. We ordered the meatloaf special and then a full rack of ribs. The meatloaf was delicious and came with a side of Lima beans which had a bit of a kick to them. First of all, crystal our server was a delight! She made us feel welcome and that's a great first impression! We ordered drinks and an appetizer of the burnt ends. When they arrived... delicious! Perfectly tender and fell apart... for the main my partner ordered the pulled chicken and I ordered the brisket. They pulled chicken was amazing! The black eyed peas made me want to slap my mom. The brisket was a huge let down. It barely had a smoke ring, the fat hadn't rendered properly which made it and the under smoked meat very tough and chewy. I ordered the Smoked Ribs Combo with brisket, bacon potato salad, and baked beans for my entree. It came with two cheddar cornbread muffins and covered in fried onion straws. The ribs were cut St. Louis style with a dry rub...my favorite way to eat ribs. They fell off the bone. The brisket was juicy and tender. 100% worth it! We went here on a whim since we were in the area and craving BBQ. We started with the Cheese-Jalapeño-corn croquettes with a side of their homemade ranch. They were absolutely delicious. I got a glass of grapefruit cider and my boyfriend got the BBQ Bloody Mary and the sour beer- absolutely no complaints! Wow... This is by far the BEST Bar-B-Q I've ever had! The location of this restaurant is nice, you can take a stroll around Old Colorado city after or before having a meal at this location. The restaurant seems to be an old house turned restaurant. It has a homey feel to it. It goes along with the southern hospitality that your receive from the staff. Hubby has been craving loaded Nachos lately, so that was the very first thing we ordered for the four of us to share. There were just enough toppings to the ratio of chips and you can't go wrong with a lot of melted cheese and BBQ Pulled pork. We asked the waitress if the portion was big enough to share and she said yes. Wrong. As soon as it arrived we knew we'd be ordering a second, which was fine. We also ordered the three meat platter - ribs, sausage and brisket. As I said, the meat was fine, but not great BBQ. The cornbread was sweet and delicious, the fried onion strings were crunchy and awesome and the slaw was decent. The service was friendly and helpful. They were understanding about our eight month old - it was actually a pretty great, laid back environment for him. It may not be fair for someone coming in from Texas to go to a bar-b-que place, but here goes nothing. I got the ribs and they were middle of the road. There was just no za-za-zoo to them. Not bad, just not great either. My husband got them too and wasn't excited for them. The kids plate is a great size for two small kids to split. The chicken was delicious, but about 1/3 of it was really dry which was a bummer bc it was almost too tough for them to eat. The cornbread that it came with was pretty good. Don't love that every member of the staff with the exception of the sweet bartender, Renee, was walking around with their masks under their chins-or completely without one- like it ain't no thing. Like- I get it. It's hot. But come the heck on. I waited 40 min for my food (when quoted 20..) and then when I was told it would be another 15+ because of a large order at which point I asked to void my order. The manager asked why and I told him about the masks and time issue and he brushed it off by saying "it's our rules for them to wear it I don't know why they're not!" When he too was maskless 50+% of the time. Useless. I'm not expecting perfection but it's still a state mandate and super tight quarters AND a restaurant and when your staff takes them off every time they're filling drinks or grabbing trays of food then slipping them back on on the way out, it's a problem. read more

They offer multiple seating options; indoor table seating, at the bar, or their outdoor covered patio. And you can catch a live performance on Wednesday nights if you plan ahead. Their bathrooms are a little sketchy so be aware. Extensive food menu with multiple barbecue options. pulled pork, brisket, ribs, baked beans, cornbread, fried okra, all the comfort food you could want. They also have a 'secret' menu where their smoked chicken wings live and they are by far the absolute best item on the menu! Actually, they're the best wings in Colorado Springs in my opinion. And I'm the weirdo who calls ahead to see if they have any on hand that day because when they run out.. thats it for that night. Small bar with maybe 5 bar stools and a small tv. Great local brew on tap and a nice selection of alcohol. Oh and do yourself the favor and order some cornbread. read more

April 21, 2021 My first dinner at Front Range BBQ was last night. Ordered: Starter, Smoked artichoke hearts, yum!!!! Ordered: Dinner, Pulled Pork Sandwich, fries and coleslaw. My friend ordered same in kids portion plate but with green beans, fried okra, came with a corn muffin which was miniature and a side of extra pickles. We both had cocktails. First the good: Their meat was smoked not just 'baked' and had a nice smoke aroma and flavor but not strong; and I got some 'bark' with mine. Fries: An excellent french-fry can be held up by it's end and stand firmly. These did not. They were listed on the menu as 'fresh cut fries' and the seemed like the frozen seasoned fries from the grocery store, thin and greasy. Coleslaw: I read in advance that the coleslaw had cayenne pepper in it but asked the lady behind the bar about it and she said it wasn't spicy. It was. I explained it'd be nice to have one sweet and creamy as a alternative for those of us who don't care for and cannot eat cayenne. The Gent offered to replace it as I'd only taken one small bite, and I got the beans but they charged me for the slaw nonetheless. Worst part? They set down a hot dinner with no sauce for our sandwiches and no ketchup for fries and when I did receive the BBQ SAUCE it was from the refrigerator! So, I am putting ice cold bbq sauce on my hot sandwich? Nope! Asked them to heat it up on microwave, shouldn't have to. BBQ sauce has nothing in it that prevents it from being left out. Place got really loud at near closing. All in all, I won't go back. Details are important. I am from the south and my BBQ is important to me. read more

The restaurant itself has appeal, it smelt good and I was excited for my meal. Let me start off with saying that my husband and two children loved their burgers/sandwiches. I had the bowl with pulled chicken and thought it wasn't terrible.. my meal appeared and had the taste that it had been nuked in the microwave. I LOVE onions so I was so excited to have fried onion, onion in my green beans, and even sliced green onion all over my meal.... yet I had NO onion flavor on any part of my meal. My food was okay but I feel that it was a day to two old before it was served to me. Simply, nothing to write home about. Food is amazing 5/5, service on the other hand maybe at best we received a 3/5. But worth it for the food! At its busiest time we only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. They have a covered patio that a unique vibe to it, they also have a small front patio with a few tables that are dog friendly. The pulled pork sandwich was absolutely amazing! We also got the ribs which fell of the bone they were so tender, with potato salad and baked beans. I have to say the beans were to DIE FOR.
