I really enjoyed my lox bagel and thought it was one of the best I've had!! The flavors were nicely balanced with the onion, capers, cream cheese and lox. I was able to eat it easily and get a little piece of everything in each bite. The bagels seem smaller than average, but who needs giant bagels anyway? I found these to be reasonably sized. Big overstuffed bagels that fall apart while you eat them - lox sliding all over the place - are really annoying. These were satisfying without making you feel gross after. The coffee selection exceeded our expectations. We shared a chemex for 2. They had a few single origin coffees to choose from and we had their pink bourbon Columbian. We enjoyed our coffee and bagels outside in their seating area and this was once of my favorite parts of our trip! We didn't have to wait too long, but as we were finishing, a long line was forming down the block. Consider getting there a little early!

Hot food, cold pop. when I overheard 3 female employees by the deli, hanging out, talking about maggots under the floor tiles. I was hoping they meant at home, surely they wouldn't be serving food around live maggots? However after listening to another minute of these despicable women's banter, they went right back to the maggots in the floor..the exterminator had just been in and it seemed to be a complet joke to these women. It sounded like they were more concerned with fighting other coworkers then proper hygiene or service. No gloves, hair all over, maggots in the floors, nonchalantly slicing deli meats. Casually hanging out and talking trash. Disgusting! Needless to say, I put everything down and I won't be back for lunch anytime soon.

I went with a cold sandwich and it was way better than I expected. It tasted fresh, felt gourmet, and definitely wasn't your average deli sandwich. Everything looked really fresh too. The service was super friendly and efficient, even with people coming in and out, and the shop had a fun, bustling beach-town vibe that got us even more excited for the day. They actually made a mistake with part of our order, but quickly remade it without hesitation and let us keep the original, which was such a kind (and delicious) surprise. Old World Market will satisfy the indulgent, bougie food lover in you -- the food lover who likes pretty charcuterie boards made from thinly sliced prosciutto shaped into flowers. And it will indulge the wine lover in you -- the one who likes a good glass of wine. It's a small store. Surprisingly small, actually! You'll mostly find food imported from Europe: Italy and Nordic countries, specifically. They offer readymade sandwiches and small charcuterie boxes to go, for those of us who want to live deliciously but also have stuff to do elsewhere. Macri's Italian Bakery and Trattoria is near downtown South Bend, Indiana and has been a staple in…read morethe city since 1978. The baked goods are especially very popular and I see their baked goods brought to parties my boyfriend and I go to all the time. I have had some of their Italian cookies before and thought they were quite delectable! But my visit here for lunch in October 2026 was the first time I tried their non-baked goods. The deli/bakery/trattoria is very large inside and was bustling on a Saturday afternoon when we arrived. We put our orders in on one of the 3 kiosks (we didn't know that we could have put in our order with an actual person at the counter - we would have much preferred that, actually) and then we waited about 8 minutes for our names to be called to pick up our meals. I ordered the chef salad with feta cheese ($16), the Macri's Club wrap for my boyfriend ($13), chips for him ($2), and two soft drinks ($2.50 each). I noticed that some of the information in the food description is wrong/missing ingredients when ordering at the kiosks. For instance, I didn't see cheese of any kind listed in the chef salad description so we paid $1.50 extra to add feta. Turns out, it did come with mozarella cheese so we paid $1.50 extra for no reason. Also, I wish they had more than one diet soda option in the fountain drink options. Anyway, the total cost for lunch, after tax, tip, and a weird "service fee" for two people was a whopping $44!!!! Absolutely wild! So the actual food was tasty, I gotta give them that. I really enjoyed my accidentally cheese-heavy salad. I love good 'ol carcinagen-heavy deli meat on my salads so I had a great experience with this chef salad. I personally thought my boyfriend's wrap was a little small but he liked it. The meat inside was very fresh and tender. And of course, the Michigan cherry potato chips are the bomb.com. We finished our food in about 20 minutes and still had a little room left for dessert so we got up and shared a cup of coffee chocolate chip gelato. We tried a few of the flavors before making our choice and this was the flavor we could both agree on to share. However, PLEASE offer gelato in more than one size. It is wild that the only portion size available for gelato costs $8! I know it is good quality gelato, but spending $8 on one size of it is ridiculous. So I'll give Macri's 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. The food was tasty but not $50-total-tasty. And some of the information on the kiosk is incorrect/missing some stuff. I'd definitely come back here, as I'd love to try some of their homemade pastas or pizzas, but would avoid getting any extras or additional products that run up the price. And what in earth was the 1.5% service fee for? Oy vey!

It was Canadian wildfire smoke day when we first arrived, we're talking worst air quality in the world, so we tried to find indoor things to do naturally. My egg salad sandwich (classic egg salad (hard boiled egg, red onion, capers, dill pickle, mayo + sriracha, local lettuce on toasted dutch crunch) may've been the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had. The only caveat: I haven't really eaten that many egg salad sandwiches. But it was still the best! Bonus, this was during a season where packaged lettuce was on recall but their greens are fresh and local baby. We even did a to-go order on the road trip out of town to dodge fast food, and I ended up with their turkey wrap (oven roast local turkey breast, Michigan white cheddar, local lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, microgreens, sriracha mayo, spinach wrap) which was also very good. Great chip options, great drinks, and really nice people and good energy in here. Love this spot and can't wait to return.
