It is the closest one in the area to Fort Lauderdale Beach. And they offer "primitive" camping, i.e. in a tent, as well as RV/Camper camping plus all the related facilities. But it's been quite some time since I actually visited this park. Located just west of Powerline Road, you wouldn't have any idea that this 40 plus acre park exists unless you were looking for it. There is no entrance fee during the week, so we were able to come and explore for free. The driving road is one way in a big circle around the park. The park is packed with so much to see and do. For nature lovers, it is part of the Birding and Wildlife Trail. The woodland trail entrance starts from the road. It had been raining a lot recently. We decided it might be a bit muddy to walk as we hadn't come prepared to do so. There are lush green grass areas and shady trees in the main area of the park. For the sports enthusiast there is disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, and shuffleboard. For the kids there are wide open areas to run around in and playgrounds. We know a family who lives locally who recently visited here one weekend for a mini vacation with their new RV and had a blast here. And one of our fellow yelp elites visits often for disc golf. It's a place that can be enjoyed by locals as well as tourists -- whether you're looking to relax or for recreation. We had a lovely leisurely visit here. When the weather is nice, it is a quiet and peaceful retreat from the traffic and city distractions.

One of the best disc golf courses in south Florida…read more I was at John Easterlin park again just last weekend. A group up to throw 18 holes. I arrived right at 8 when they opened. After checking in its a a small drive around the whole park to the parking for the 1st hole. I was there before the others so I was able to get some practice throws in on their practice hole first. once everyone was there we started the round. There is about 3 water holes, and they are all at the beginning. They arent hard though, it's really about going around the lake. We made it through there fine. after that its a mix of open field joles and others that go through the woods. Almost every hole is doable. I'm not good and I can par most of them. In fact I had 2 birdies that day. The whole course is well maintained. Nothing too fancy but it's taken care of. There are other amenities like a playground, camping, basketball court, and more. But the central attraction to me is the course. Oh, and they have a bonus 19th and 20th holes! Can't beat that.

Awesome price & huge rooms. We arrived here after being…read morekicked out of our friends timeshare (the people we were with thought we had it booked thru Sunday - it was only booked thru Saturday). We drove around Hollywood, FL for almost 2 hours trying to get a room - either they were booked OR charging $299.00+ a night - YES A NIGHT!!!- which was ridiculous. We almost drove past this little place, I saw it & thought - what the hell. The lady in the office was pleasant and only charged us $55 cash - so I am not sure if they even take credit cards. The room was huge - had a twin bed on one wall, a double on the other, a big kitchen stocked full of supplies and a pretty nice sized fridge. You had to walk thru a big closet to get to the restroom which was also a decent size. The decor was pretty random - looks like it was decorated from a flea market but who cares - it was only a place to sleep anyways! It had a full sofa, tv, kitchen table with chairs and a ceiling fan - something most hotel rooms don't have. There was a cute patio out front of all the rooms with chairs & tables with umbrellas. It was funny - my hubby & I were out front drinking beer & the office lady comes out (of what we suspect was also her home cause it was huge & had a living room in it) and says ""NO VISITORS!!!"....I just laughed & said don't worry we don't know anyone down here. The beds were kinda hard so if you are one of those who prefer sleeping on a soft bed this place isn't for you. The place was super clean - the towels, bedding and pillows all smelled like bleach & laundry soap - even the comforter which you wont get in most other hotels. Positive: Price, Really clean, room size, blocks from the ocean, kitchen with fridge. Negative: hot water in shower runs out quick, thin windows so you hear Everything, needs drapes cause the sunlight in the morning will kill you if you have a hangover. :-)

There aren't many rooms but all are apartments. There's a living room with small kitchen, bathroom and separate bedroom. They do have 2 - 2 bedroom units as well. Only 2 stories. Our room was on the first floor. Open our door and the beach was a mere 100 feet away. Such a beautiful view! We met so many great people during our stay. Many of them are "snowbirds" and come down for 4-6 weeks at a time. It's like a family there. We were welcomed immediately! The Inn hosts a lunch every Wednesday afternoon. Just a little cook out with hotdogs, etc. It happened to rain the Wednesday we were there and they moved it to Friday. They also hosted a Valentine's Day dinner! Chicken, salads, wine.... It was a great time. They also gave us flowers and a little box of candy for Valentine's Day The cleaning staff was fantastic! They came in everyday and made the beds, took out the trash etc. So friendly too! If you needed anything at all you just had to ask it poof... it was done! I was so sad to leave but we are definitely going back next year! Have to say hello to our new friends, Helen and Barry, Nancy and Todd, Pat and Dave.... many many more.

Fast forward to this year. I had a major injury occur this fall and am temporarily unable to walk well. We still wanted to take a trip. I called the Inn as I remembered the room was definitely handicapped accessible and the bathroom had a walk -in shower. Plus, the patio sits right on the beach. Even though I couldn't go in the sand, I could still absolutely enjoy the ocean. The owners were AMAZING and super accommodating and fantastic with communication via phone and email. I asked for the same room, they made it happen. I asked for ice to be left in the freezer for my knees, they made it happen. I asked for a shower chair, they made it happen! While checking in, I met a family member of the owners and she was incredibly nice. We had a long conversation about my injury. She gave me an extra towel for the bathroom for water so I don't slip and fall, and said if we needed anything else during the stay to not hesitate to ask. I couldn't be more thankful for these nice people!!! Definitely recommend the Manta Ray Inn located in Hollywood, FL!!!!
