Small entrance fee and worth it. FYI, do not go if it has been raining a lot. There are some areas that tend to get flooded.

I had several heavy things I was bringing and it was a long schlep with them. The party was at the water park. I couldn't find it but a nice employee helped me and told me to follow him. We had Funbrella A. It did provide shade. There were about twenty of us. I swam with the kids. I played Marco Polo with them. It was fun. We ate and two and a half hours into the party, it rained. The lifeguards came around to assist with a cart for us to load the things so we could leave. Four of them came around and were super nice. I am giving this park 3 stars because, and I know this sounds odd, but it just feels outdated. The water park area just seems ho-hum. Not exciting. The last time I was at this park was maybe forty years ago when I was a child. Everything looks the same! They do offer a raincheck if it rains within two hours of being there. There are no refunds. Park admission is $3 per car and the water park is $10 per person to get in. I do think they gave my friend the raincheck for our admissions, even though it was slightly over two hours.

Tons of things to do in the amenity circle; pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, putting green, volleyball a fitness center, library and a laundry facility. Plus a club house with planned activities. Outdoor BBQ area with tiki huts and dining tables with chairs. Renters have full access to all amenities. They say theirs Wi-Fi but it's spotty. Won't even stay connected for more than a minute. Cracks in the cement pavement next to our site. Huge trip hazard! We're absolutely delighted to overnight in quiet Pod 5 site 1 which is a back in site with full hookup. Larry Thompson was a humor columnist for the Miami Herald for more than two decades until his death February 18, 1973. He is in the Florida Newspaper Hall of Fame. His wife Gladys "Penny" Thompson (née Rhodes), who died September 22, 1975, was a pioneer in women's aviation during the 1940s-1950s. She is in the Florida Aviation Hall of Fame and the Florida Women's Hall of Fame. She was the Florida chapter president of the Ninety-Nines, the women's pilot organization founded by Amelia Earhart. While in the Civil Air Patrol, she flew over the Gulf of Mexico searching for German submarines during World War II. Her plane was one of several hundred destroyed in a 1945 blimp hangar fire at the Naval Air Station Richmond, part of which was rebuilt as the park.

The park is extremely clean and manicured. The pool, tiki hut, playground are all excellent. We walked around the marina and made a day just checking out all the amazing yatchs. The staff was very attentive and would immediately respond to any requests or concerns. In my opinion that's what really can make an RV park stand out. I honestly do not know why this place doesn't have a solid 5 star rating.

It is definitely an old campground, but it is well maintained and loved by those who run it. We had a great time on the private beach and the best kayak through the mangroves. I appreciated the bubbler for keeping dangerous wildlife off the beach area. It's nice and quiet in the evenings and a safe place for kids to explore and have fun. The heated pool is sparkling clean and warm. We had a beautiful weeklong visit over spring break and can't wait to come back again!
