Parking is $10 on Friday and Saturday nights when they have live music. We came for dinner and I asked the parking attendant where I could park if I wasn't here for the music and they pointed at the ) 100% full parking lot and said anywhere over there is free. We went to Mo's who has a $7 summer cocktail list right now. Frio is renting the parking lot next door from a church. They should charge people there for the music that cost in the ticket price and not try to pass a parking cost onto the regular dinner crowd. read more

Great atmosphere but the food is regular pub food and nothing spectacular about it. The wings have way too much sauce on them which was unfortunate because the flavor was good but the sauce was way too overbearing. Service was okay, it took a while for us to get refills on drinks. Love how they have both indoor and outdoor seating with a fire pit outside. It's a cool place to hang grab beers... but the food is mediocre and not filling. read more

It took me some time to finally make it out to Frios. But when I did, I was simply blown away. Okay the anticipation on going here has been growing for some time. Once I learned they had a chicken fried steak, I've had it on my radar. So finally one sunny Sunday, I decided to give it a try when looking for a good spot for breakfast and brunch in the area and all fell short from the food varieties and atmosphere I was in the mood for. And then Frio's came to mind... What was I thinking? To dare not come here for over a year after hearing about it. The nerve of me! The freaking audacity! I must of been some sort of idiot. This place is good! As simple as that. The waffles, the breakfast sausages, the sangria's, the Bloody Mary with bacon and the Chicken Fried Steak. I was satisfied. Yes ..with all of that. I could do with a bit more seasoning on the CFS but as was said in the movie Big Hero 6, "I am satisfied with my care". If you have never been I assure you to give this spot a try. I mean do you know how hard it is for me to just write this without wanting to run back up there and grab me a sangria and a CFS?! The main dining room was warm and inviting, tin hall style... once sat, had to wait for the appetizers... once arrived, the stuffed tots and concan shrimp were delish... the quesadillas were ok, the rice was a touch crunchy... the chicken fried chicken was great ... real homemade redeye gravy y'all! Met a friend out on nice patio for brunch. It was a Saturday and disappointed that they only have brunch on Sundays. Drinks were small and not very strong. Was was okay. Ordered the Texas fried Mac 'n' cheese and Big Bend botanas. The fried mac n cheese were good. The botanas, tortillas chips were okay. Our friend had the Rockport fish tacos and she liked them. They were big. My hubby was the winner, he had the Uvalde pulled pork sandwich. The only thing I didn't like is how the put the ketchup packets directly on his plate. I had the West Texas Pecan Crusted Bourbon Chicken, it was okay. The light bacon bourbon reduction was NOT good. Glad I had them put in on the side cause it would have ruined the chicken & mash potatoes. Waiters were nice. Very laid back. Curious about the rest of the place as they have concerts. So we came here on a Thursday night, Thursday night kids eat free. Nothing wrong with that , just makes for a loud night, outside. Inside it's nice and calm and normal level of activities and noise. For awhile, then some of the kids migrated indoors and were hot sweaty, stinky and still full of energy. That was a downer. . We went walking around the outside, area and there's a stage, live music ! and a barn. The Barn seems closed, but I see people inside drinking , so not clear on that. They seem to o have some different events, I really should look at the and fact check this, but I'm enjoying the atmosphere and relaxing. Our server Rachel, is very friendly, and recommended our appetizer, stuffed mashed potatoes?? Something not on the menu, secret item. Really good. Six to an order, yummy sauce. Glad we ordered it. Our food came out soon enough, not as long a wait as our server seemed concerned about. Everything was really good. The chicken fried steak was huge. The frio pass.burger was intimidating. The mashed potatoes were really good. I ordered extra to take home. So why not a 5star review? They have a designated smoking area right outside the dining area. Definitely not 25 feet away from a door, which unfortunately brought in quite a bit of unwelcomed and un wanted cigarette smell. So a solid 4 star for this trip. And we will be back read more

I love the laid back atmosphere and great food. Try the steak kabobs- you will not be disappointed. They are so tasty and have a terrific flavor profile. Their queso is delicious but be prepared for it to go quickly if you come with hungry kids. Also- insider tip- get the black cherry soda mixed with lemonade. I have to start out by saying Jordan was amazing. Great service from him... personable, funny and knew his stuff! Now onto the food.. I heard rave about the fish tacos. Of course I had to see for myself! I really wanted to like them.. unfortunately I didnt. They give you a good amount of fish.. definitely were not stingy.. but the only thing that made the fish tacos edible was the sauce. The food isn't very impressive, it's mid and my table barely touched their plates. The staff is a bit stuck up and I've had a few encounters of attitude. Though the ambiance is beautiful and definitely speaks Texas, it needs to acquire a little more southern hospitality and some love in the food. The bar is 21+, minors can't even be in the perimeter. That is ridiculous, this is not some club in Houston, this is Cypress where people have families and want to get out for some fun. I'm originally from Austin and I've yet to find a place that reminds me of home until now. The atmosphere was dead on, there is space for the kiddos to play outside, inside is natural and laid back. The food was amazing. They have a pretzel bigger than 2 peoples face and it's the second best pretzel I've ever had. I'm vegan and I had the sunset salad it was fire! Omg so good, fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries on a bed of spring mix with an amazing raspberry vinaigrette. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well, he said that the garlic mash was amazing. Both meals came with a slice of garlic bread but due to the pretzel we did not eat them, they did ok good though. I have found my new favorite place to eat. I can't wait to return. read more

I've been to Frio a few different times, and it never seems to disappoint. They have ample gravel parking and not only have indoor seating but a covered patio also. The outdoor patio is always really nice to sit at, especially if you have kids since they're able to run around and play with beach balls. They currently have a fall drink menu, so I decided to try their blackberry margarita. It was tart and refreshing on a hot day. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp tacos, which is my go-to pick, and we ordered the chicken texadilla. The food was hot when it arrived and it was delicious. It was more than enough food to keep you full, and it was all flavorful. I always want to try their desserts, but I haven't yet... hopefully, next time because they sound so delicious!! I didn't catch our waiters name, but he was very nice and very attentive. He was one of the best waiters we have had in a really long time. read more

Went to this spot, after all the good yelp reviews, with some new friends and the hostess, I believe her name was Christine was rather unpleasant to my friends before my arrival. Apparently they sat themselves somewhere they weren't supposed to sit bcos the seats were empty and no one said anything or bothered to set them beforehand. The hosted came back and made them move even though the seats remained empty all the way up until we ordered, ate, paid and left. Idk if it was bcos we were not white that we received this treatment, but we felt very uncomfortable and very unappreciated. We were sorta forced to congregate by the bar for an unnecessary amount of time gazing at tons of empty tables until Christine felt we'd been punished enough. Then she sat us in the door area towards the middle where it was also an unpleasant seating area considering nicer tables were available. Our food was late, cold and arrived several minutes apart,we all ordered at the same time yet our food did not come at the same time. Our waitress seemed rather new bcos she was unfamiliar with the menu and unable to answer basic questions about some dishes. For first time customers this was an awful and unpleasant experience, we will not patronize this establishment again. read more

We have been to The Frio several times and have enjoyed one r visit in the past. We went on August 9th for lunch. Our friend arrived about 15 minutes before us and no one had even greeted her. We chose our own table because se the existes didn't offer to seat us. We were given plastic menus that smelled so bad it made me gag. Like they were cleaned in dirty water and stacked up wet. It was so gross. We told her about it and she took them away and put them back on the stack at the front door. We asked someone else for some clean menus and she brought us the same dirty ones. We booked the private room for a Mother's Day dinner. I have nothing negative to say about the waiter, he did great and everyone else was friendly. Two issues: 1) all of the cocktails had a dirt/earthy taste to them, idk if it was cheap soda water or dirty lines or ice but everyone tasted it. The cocktail presentation was also inconsistent, I ordered the same drink (bourbon and diet, single tall) and got one in a pint glass and one in a Collins glass. 2) our food was cold by the time it was delivered, flavor was good. I appreciated the kitchen split on my dish that my husband and I shared (and before anyone says we were cheap for splitting, we got multiple drinks, apps, and it was a table of 9) ...but if I'm going to get a Petri dish of a Caesar salad I'd rather just get the plate and we can share. The menu could also use some basic grilled protein and side options, there's no steak, grilled chicken, plate of sides options you'd expect in a restaurant of this type. With the food they are buying for inventory they could do so many more simple options, and there's no specials. If they expand the menu a bit and clean up the bar service we will return, I liked the grassy area for the kids to play and the service. read more

First time visit. Large group for 75th Birthday Party. Our server was fantastic. The wine list was small but adequate. The beer list is quite extensive. The menu was varied with a good selection. We had 4 different appetizers and were all good, especially the empanadas. The fried pickles were spicy but really good. We all liked our entrees. I always come back to frios every once in a while, food has always been great, never let me down. I always order pecan chicken it's so good! There fried pickles were also really good. Today I just placed a pickup order, I put under special instructions, "plz extra sauce" for my pecan chicken. They gave me 2 big sides of sauce, I was so happy when I opened the bag. We went to Frio grill last Friday with my daughter and her family including a hungry six year old. First indication of a bad experience to come was a 40 minute wait when the place had many empty tables. Next, even though there were empty tables inside we were seated in a far side patio and only brought inside when we complained about being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Our waitress forgot my daughter's drink and by the time we saw her again we told not to bother. Our food took over 45 minutes to come out and we found that my wife's order hadn't been included. The food itself, when it was finally served, was fine and thankfully once we were able to get the waitress's attention the bill came out fast. Overall a HORRIBLE experience at a restaurant we've patronized quite a few times. I doubt that we'll return and I can't in good conscience recommend the place to anyone else. read more
