    Melissa I.

I go to several haunts every year. I have never been to Frightland but I heard so much about it. This year I decided to try it out and was honestly my whole reason for my vacation in Delaware. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. This is now one of my all-time favorites. They have 8 attractions for $40 which is honestly a steal. If you live in the area, you do not have to do them all in one night. I don't live in the area so I did all of them but you have that option which is nice since these attractions do take time. I wanted to get a t-shirt because I visited the shop and they were only $10 which, again, is AMAZING but by the time we finished everything, the shop was closed which was a disappointment. I really didn't feel like carrying around my purchases. The hayride was amazing! The animatronics were top notch and so different. I loved that the hayride didn't really slow down. A lot of these hayrides stop and then you know people are going to scare you. This one stopped maybe once or two, otherwise just kept going. I don't know what came first 'Frightland' in DE or 'Night of Terror' in NJ but the hayrides are very similar... and that's not a bash. They are BOTH amazing! All of the walk-throughs were great as well. I actually liked that they didn't have a ton of actors. I like the props, the animatronics, etc. I would say if someone told you that you had to skip of the things there, I would skip the Zombie Prison. It was extremely short, not much going on and overall kind of a waste. But that is the only one I would say that about. The rest were all amazing. I will say you will be there a LONG time. I got there at 9:30pm and we left at 1:30am. So come early and enjoy it. I would also say come earlier in the October month. We came on the 2nd of October and already it was pretty busy! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend and will be back!

The wait time is ridiculous. Line after line. Was on line for more than 4 hours just for the hayride. Mind you they only have 1 hayride for a Saturday evening. After the hayride, it's another line for the other attractions. Aside from the long wait times, they group you with at least 20 people, so how can you get the haunted house experience? VIP--to many VIP tickets were sold and there was a wait time for that as well, so it was useless. You are actually better off on waiting to near closing time to avoid the 4 hour + wait time for the hayride. Lastly, the attitude and rudeness from the staff members is very unprofessional. My daughter who never did a haunted house before was not scared once. Not worth the wait or money.

    Getting spookyyyy

They've become more organized over time. Lines are so long and parking is horrendous on the way out.

    Ask the Community - Frightland

Is it okey to visit this place with a 1.5 years old child? With a stroller or on baby carrier on back?

I'm not sure that would be appropriate considering it's a frightening attraction and a late night activity.

The hayride didn't have as many actors as I expected, but it was still well done.

We've gone annually for the past 4 years, and it is so much fun every time. The scare actors engage you from the moment you step in line. It's one cohesive, spooky experience. Each year, a few things change. It's our reliable scare date. Highly recommend!

My friend and I got the instant access pass for an extra $25 and to be honest, it was worth every penny. With it being spooky month, we knew it would be jam packed. The line got general admission was ridiculous. The line to express access was better but still pretty long. Instant access allows you to skip the line and go straight to the entrance of the haunted house. The music was too loud to hear the instructions but I guess the gist is, don't run and don't touch the actors. I loved the design and themes of most rooms. Some left a little to be desired. I do wish there were a little more actors and better system of separating the parties. There were quite a few times we were able to see ahead so we knew what was coming. My favorite times were any moment where the actors interacted with the guests, like when we were chased. After the haunted house, you're able to buy merch and take photos. Although we didn't do the escape room, I liked that there was an option to do so this adding to the whole Halloween experience. All in all, I enjoyed my time at the House of Horror. While there could be some improvements with setup, I would still recommend it for others wanting to check out a local haunted house.

We saw many younger children that also spent time at the small baby lambs and goats petting zoo. This was a nice added touch. The DJ was also great that played upbeat music. So I took a trip down to the Field of Terror... located in the middle of nowhere in East Windsor, NJ. There isn't an actual parking lot- you're going to have to park your car in the middle of a field, but there are parking attendants to guide you. And yes, it's free! Luckily the lot is right near the farm so don't worry about walking too far. You can purchase your tickets online or once you get there. I came on a Thursday night 10/24 and there were no lines at all. There's a couple of ticket options depending on how many haunted attractions you want to do. There are 5 in total: Haunted Hayride, Kornfield Maze, Karnival, Timmery Manor, Paintball Wagon Ride. One attraction = $20 Two attractions = $35 Three attractions = $45 Four attractions = $50 Five attractions = $65 We didn't have much time so we only did one attraction, the Haunted Hayride. There was no wait at all, so we were able to get on right away. The entire attraction lasted about 15 minutes. I don't want to spoil anything.... but it was enjoyable. However, coming from someone who is the biggest scaredy cat, I wasn't SUPER spooked... so see for yourself. The farm itself is small and easy to navigate. All of the attractions are close to one another. There were actors walking around and I definitely got a couple of jump scares LOL. They have food stands available at very reasonable prices (mostly carnival/fair-themed food like burgers, fries, funnel cake, hot dogs). Plenty of seating to enjoy your food. There's a merchandise store with cute apparel and goodies. They also have a farmer's market selling some of their produce. Since I only did one haunted attraction, take this review with a grain of salt. Was it worth $20? Ehhhh, not really. But give it a try if you're in the area and see for yourself. Get spooky.
