My husband has been to a couple of Firefly Music Festivals and was familiar with the scene. It is a multi-genre festival and one of the largest festival in the US. People usually camp out for the 4-day event. During the day, the bands that play are a bit lowkey whereas at night, the band/singers are concert-like and wild but its a great time! The sound bass coming through the speakers for every singer was spectacular. Overall an amazing experience!

Our kids had a great time and learned a lot about the history of the DSP while having some fun and getting their faces painted. Makes you appreciate the sacrifices that the men and women of the state police make to protect the citizens. I would definitely recommend visiting with the family. We will absolutely be back again!

Really clean museum that is dedicated to the history of the Delaware State Police. It's open during…read morethe week, but only open the 3rd Saturday of every month during the weekend. We were greeted by a really nice retired police officer that gave us the history of the museum. The music is free to visit, but they do take donations to help cover operating costs. There are several cars and even some motorcycles. You are allowed to enter and play in the Crown Victoria. My son had a blast turning on the sirens and taking his daddy for a "ride". There was even a trooper hat he got to wear while he was "driving". There are lots of history pieces including the old kits they used for taking fingerprints. It's a pretty decent size and in good shape. Definitely worth a visit either with or without the kids.

I was at the Drydene 400 yesterday at Dover International Speedway with family! I went because…read morealthough my normal experience with NASCAR is watching on tv the start of a race, falling asleep on my favorite chair and waking up in time to watch the finale, I wanted to see what it's like in person at least once in my life. Although exciting, and the overall experience I had was outstanding, a good part of actually watching the race, to me, was somewhat boring. I didn't end up sleeping in the stands but almost did, and I did catch my brother with his eyes closed. There were about three or four cautions during the race not including the stages or competition caution, and they were for cars that went loose into the wall, or a piece of equipment on the track. Nothing special or spectacular but the one car did catch on fire. Thankfully no one was injured or seriously hurt. It was amazing to see the top cars in this particular race who were on point really take command of the track. The first car that got a lap down was on lap 13 according to my brother. Although COVID rules were being advised, and you needed to wear your mask to get into the track, no one was wearing them once in the stands. It was a mix of on or off when walking around, and wearing when in line to get food or use the bathroom. The facility did not sell all seats so there was space and I was glad they did not sell all the seats to do so. They were offering vaccination shots, so that's pretty cool. They were also giving out free masks. All staff were wearing their masks the whole time. The fan zone included food, clothing, a car show, the military, other car and tire company demos and games to play. I won some stress ball tires and low end tire gauges, and also got a free t-shirt. I loved that you were allowed to bring in your own food and drink as long as you followed their requirements. A hell of a lot of people were tailgating, and my brother hooked up into a cornhole game. Everyone was extremely friendly and well behaved in the stands and also outside in the lots and fan zone. I highly recommend bringing ear protection. Again BRING EAR PROTECTION. I took out my earphones for the last five laps, and I was dumbfounded at how loud the race really is with the sound reverberating off the massive aluminum stands. We were in the last (top) row (46) of the Allison stands and had a perfect view of the whole track. I'd also bring sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen. If you have can headphones, bring them. You could also rent scanners which I did not do, but they would have been helpful. $96 each for the tickets, $10 parking, brought our own food, and an awesome day with family. Was almost a little more expensive when my brother lost his Apple AirPod at the top of the stands, but luckily a fan a row down found it before it dropped to the ground. Congrats to Alex Bowman who won, and did it all after taking the lead during an outstanding pit stop jumping two places to get it. He then held it to the end.

Deanna's music is great and deserves her own review, but this is simply about the venue. The Schwartz Center is without a doubt the most under utilized gem in the state capital! The theater is simply beautiful inside and out, the acoustics are wonderful, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The lighting is professional and very well done. (Had to throw in a note for my buddy John Moller!) I do wish they would bring in more well known acts, but not enough tickets are sold to make it worth while. Dover residents need to wake up and realize they have an alternative to traveling to Wilmington, Easton, and Philadelphia.

The great acoustics provided a fantastic show. Echoes of a Prophet was quite a surprise and truly echoed the great Rev Martin Luther King, Jr. The jazz bands were great with a lot of talented students. I thought the seats could have been slightly more spacious but that is to be expected in an auditorium. I enjoyed my visit to the Schwartz Center which is a wonderfully decorated facility with a lot of charm and look forward to another great show when I am in Delaware.

I had my wife join me on Good Friday, which also happened to be 1st Friday as well. We headed downtown and parked early and decided to grab a bite to eat at the Old Mill Market & Cafe prior to the event starting. After that we wandered from shop to shop, art gallery to art gallery, and Realtor to Realtors office. As we enjoyed a very pleasant evening perusing arts, crafts, souvenirs, and ogled at ads for properties far above and beyond our financial grasp. Most of the shops offered free (yup you heard right.... FREE) wine and appetizers to those that came to visit. On 1st Fridays you are allowed to wander with glass in hand from shop to shop sipping and enjoying your beverage of choice (wine, beer, or sodas). Even the local Rita's Italian Ice place gets in on the action and set up a stand on High Street downtown to hand out free ices. Now we both had a blast, and we were told that this Friday was a more subdued event because it was Easter Weekend, but that the next month there would be a lot more to see and do. The town goes all out and puts together a great event. This is a great date night event for you and that special someone!!! Leave the kids home, enjoy a nice dinner here in town, wander around and relax in the quiet & quaint atmosphere of this historic town. Take a stroll by the river, enjoy a bottle of wine at Play it Again Sams, or a drink at the Fish Whistle. You might even find Andy somewhere here in Mayberry too...LOL!!!

She has been able to participate in numerous main stage shows, cabarets, musical theater ensembles, performing trips to Disney World, etc. etc. She has learned so much as a performer but she's also developed skills for a lifetime--she's developed poise, the ability to be prepared for things by a deadline and a strong work ethic. These are skills she will use no matter what her future career path holds. PCA is a happy, safe place for kids (and adults--I've done some stuff there too!) to hang out, develop skills and have fun!

It was big, not battered too much, and tasty. However, everything else was an exercise in starch. When I ordered the gator balls, I expected to get the flavor of gator rather than potato. It came with these round slices and fried potatoes. There were more potatoes than gator, and they charged $15 for it. The lobster mac and cheese was, by far, the worst. Again, they charged $15. It looked great but had NO flavor. Even the lobster had no flavor. The same can be said for the lobster roll. I just returned from Portland, Maine, so this was not gonna live up to it. Still, it wasn't even close. There was no seasonings or flavor, or even options like drawn butter or chipotle mayo.
