My husband has been to a couple of Firefly Music Festivals and was familiar with the scene. It is a multi-genre festival and one of the largest festival in the US. People usually camp out for the 4-day event. During the day, the bands that play are a bit lowkey whereas at night, the band/singers are concert-like and wild but its a great time! The sound bass coming through the speakers for every singer was spectacular. Overall an amazing experience!

As I was going from Rehoboth Beach to New Castle I was wanting to take RT 9 north off the beaten path. As I was coming to the RT1/9 split I had traffic in front and behind and they seem to be in a hurry, Neil wasn't. So I pulled off the road at this place to let everyone by. As I came in thru the entrance the sign read "Free Museum" I says to myself "FREE" I need to check it out and glad I did... As I walked inside you have a really nice gift shop that you need to explore and support. The volunteers working were the best. Not sure where to start but as you enter the main area it is just loaded with WWII, Korean and Vietnam displays. Ever wonder how those belly and tail gunners worked, there is a display for that. I know I could not have done it. There is even a mock-up control tower to explore and listen to the base tower giving commands. On my visit I was able to see a C130 take off from the tower. If your ever in the area this is a must stop, especially if your a history buff. And at the end, please give these people a donation for a job well done. Peace.

I was at the Drydene 400 yesterday at Dover International Speedway with family! I went because…read morealthough my normal experience with NASCAR is watching on tv the start of a race, falling asleep on my favorite chair and waking up in time to watch the finale, I wanted to see what it's like in person at least once in my life. Although exciting, and the overall experience I had was outstanding, a good part of actually watching the race, to me, was somewhat boring. I didn't end up sleeping in the stands but almost did, and I did catch my brother with his eyes closed. There were about three or four cautions during the race not including the stages or competition caution, and they were for cars that went loose into the wall, or a piece of equipment on the track. Nothing special or spectacular but the one car did catch on fire. Thankfully no one was injured or seriously hurt. It was amazing to see the top cars in this particular race who were on point really take command of the track. The first car that got a lap down was on lap 13 according to my brother. Although COVID rules were being advised, and you needed to wear your mask to get into the track, no one was wearing them once in the stands. It was a mix of on or off when walking around, and wearing when in line to get food or use the bathroom. The facility did not sell all seats so there was space and I was glad they did not sell all the seats to do so. They were offering vaccination shots, so that's pretty cool. They were also giving out free masks. All staff were wearing their masks the whole time. The fan zone included food, clothing, a car show, the military, other car and tire company demos and games to play. I won some stress ball tires and low end tire gauges, and also got a free t-shirt. I loved that you were allowed to bring in your own food and drink as long as you followed their requirements. A hell of a lot of people were tailgating, and my brother hooked up into a cornhole game. Everyone was extremely friendly and well behaved in the stands and also outside in the lots and fan zone. I highly recommend bringing ear protection. Again BRING EAR PROTECTION. I took out my earphones for the last five laps, and I was dumbfounded at how loud the race really is with the sound reverberating off the massive aluminum stands. We were in the last (top) row (46) of the Allison stands and had a perfect view of the whole track. I'd also bring sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen. If you have can headphones, bring them. You could also rent scanners which I did not do, but they would have been helpful. $96 each for the tickets, $10 parking, brought our own food, and an awesome day with family. Was almost a little more expensive when my brother lost his Apple AirPod at the top of the stands, but luckily a fan a row down found it before it dropped to the ground. Congrats to Alex Bowman who won, and did it all after taking the lead during an outstanding pit stop jumping two places to get it. He then held it to the end.

Incredible collection of old medical equipment, china dolls, old-fashioned ice cream scoops (10 cents/cone). Then, as we continued into the basement exhibits, the president of the museum's Board of Directors, Butch Hammond, guided us through the exhibits about integration at Milford High School, as he was one of the original seven in 1962 to have attended MHS, rather than taking a bus more than 20 miles away to Georgetown or to Dover. He was a track & field star as well as a star on the undefeated basketball team. There is also a fascinating collection of photos and programs from circuses of yesteryear, although they aren't well-labeled or dated. But fantastic to see the elephants parading down Main Street, with a circus performer in the trunk of one of the pachyderms (perhaps the 1930s). Free admission (but donations gratefully accepted in a jar on the main level). This museum is a true gem, and has something for everyone. They are preparing an exhibit about Milford residents who've served in wars. I noticed when lists of the fallen were published in the Washington Post circa 2005, that most hailed from small towns like Milford, rather than from big cities. I hope to return to this museum when I have out-of-town visitors to Rehoboth Beach (my nearby destination, about a 40 minute drive from Milford). Farmer's market on Saturday mornings until 1 pm just a few hundred yards from this museum.

Yelled at her when she tried to play a slot machine because she wasn't a member rather than just informing her. There were no postings about it. Then when they were done with their drinks, they pushed their drinks aside and got up to leave and the bartender quickly opened another beer and told him he had to pay for it and argued with him about it. That he needed to play the bottle down if he didn't want another. It was just all around an awful and purely rude experience. Staff and customers need to be completely redone and traded out for fresh and kinder models. Bitterness and rudeness isn't cute y'all.

We love finding local museums and this one did not disappoint. We were given a short introduction of the museum by a nice lady, then we walked around all of the rooms at our own pace. Every room is PACKED with so much history, and each exhibit and display is well-organized. Afterwards I learned that it actually IS more than 1 museum! We loved all the different displays. The museum really takes the time to pay tribute to so many groups that have served in the military, including Japanese Americans, Tuskegee Airmen, Women in the military, all across multiple wars. You could easily spend a whole day here just absorbing all of the history and artifacts. The collection is just spectacular! While we were there we were given an impromptu tour by Mr. Ed, a volunteer and Vietnam Veteran. (Tours can be scheduled in advance but we didn't schedule one, we were just lucky enough to chance upon one). What an honor and pleasure to be in his presence as he let my 2 boys into the display vehicles and explain (very patiently) all of the features and functions of each. He spent lots of time telling us about the history of the vehicles and in particular we spent a good amount of time in the flight training center. I can't say enough about this great museum. The restoration efforts are fantastic and you can see the passion and care that the employees put into maintaining and, even more importantly, IMPROVING this place. Also to note, restrooms are available and clean, as is water. Located right on the Executive Airport, so you can also catch small planes coming and going. Gift shop is small but reasonably priced. Truly a great place to visit and we would definitely come back, especially when they have their air shows and other events! Probably wouldn't recommend for under 5 years unless you just want to see some airplanes outside. We became members and receive occasional mailings with updates. They have since acquired some new vehicles and we look forward to making another visit in the future!
