Just .... nasty all around. There was no wait for a table at 2:35 in the afternoon as no other diners were in the restaurant. But, wait! There was a wait for a table! Most of the tables were filthy and unbussed. There was one server and one cook present. The menu is too big. Way too many items, and it's impossible to effective stock for, and prepare, such a huge offering. I went with the fish sandwich, fries, and an ice cream sundae for dessert. The fish was square, caught I guess in the same ocean where McDonalds catches their square fish. Nothing on it, just bun and fish (or, more correctly, fish "product.") I had a to flag down the server (who was busy texting behind the counter) to get some ketchup or something to help this sad fish sandwich out. The fries tasted very old. The ice cream sundae was nice - served in a stainless steel cup, which kept it quite cold. I had the chocolate with caramel topping. It came with whipped cream and a cherry. This was the only good thing to come of this experience. Was this a popular big chain at some point in the past? It had the "feel" of an old nearly-abandoned Howard Johnson's. I'll start off by saying I love Friendlys, I have memories of sundae's with my family for as long as I can remember and they are very fond! Today's experience was not so friendly. I walked in to get some ice cream to-go and was not greeted for a good few minutes while 2 employees sat at the front stools, another 2 (one being the manager Jen) were making ice cream, and another was at the cash register chatting. Mind you there was only one couple in front of me waiting on ice cream, and one seated 4 top. Once I finally ordered, I asked to purchase some peanut butter sauce in a pint, I was told there wasn't enough, but I could pay for a small side so I said sure. The cashier walked away to get it and as she did, I saw and heard the manager Jen go over to her and give her grief about me ordering PB sauce (which was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming feeling as a guest who already felt unwelcome from walking in) the manager Jen proceeded to hand me my bag and said "oh come back tomorrow we will have more PB then, but I need what we have today for the rest of the shift" So basically what she told me sounded more like "I have what you want to buy but won't give it to you because I'll look bad the rest of my shift if someone orders it" I would not have been bothered by them not having any sauce, but the whole situation from walking in, to being made feel uncomfortable, to the finishing words...really put a bad taste in my mouth. It's not as if I asked for it free either, I wanted to buy it and made that clear. This is crazy i have to complain about this . I order Uber eats from them all the time . The last 5 times they can't follow directions. I have an allergies to tomatoes so i made sure i said something and clicked the allergies button . Once again it came with tomatoes so another 12$ thrown out because they can't follow simple directions. I called and talked to a manager and i felt like i was being a used of lying . I had breakfast here this morning. The food was marginal. One of the most insulting things happened. I ordered sausage and the server brought bacon. She said she was sorry and would bring me sausage only if I returned the bacon. That tells me that either they re-use food or they do not trust their customers who may be trying to get food for free. Either option is not good. I won't go back and I would recommend you look elsewhere. This area has several great breakfast restaurants! Not this one. Under "Shakes" they listed cheesecake. Which would make one assume they're getting cheesecake shakes. We ordered two. We received slices of cheesecake. So I called and let them know today (next day) The person who answered the phone was in an obvious rush. I let her know and she just said "thanks". Our sandwiches were pretty good. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the lack of concern for my call. I understand this isn't the end of the world, but even an offer for a credit would have been a nice gesture. read more

So, here's the thing. I grew up with Friendly's. I love it, pure nostalgia for this girl. Also- they've taken away all of our Friendly's in Ohio. So, imagine my elation when I discovered my old favorite while on vacation. Reese sundae and bbq chicken melt here I come! Pros- Decent service. The guy waiting on us was the only server for the whole dining room. He was waiting on 10 tables. He was as pleasant as could be expected under the circumstances. Food was great. Hot things hot. Cold things cold. Everything appeared fresh and was prepared well. Cons- The place is FILTHY. Dirt literally caked on exhaust areas in the dining room. Carpet had not been scrubbed (I would guess) for 6+ months. Stains everywhere. The bathrooms..the toilets weren't bad- again, though..in need of a thorough cleaning. Overall, very run down and poorly maintained. Please don't think I'm a high maintenance type of girl that needs a fancy restaurant to be satisfied. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm a wife and mom of two boys- I can handle some dirt. However, this level of dirt in a public eatery, I'll pass on the dirt and the nostalgia next time. read more

Such a disappointment. Very unclean looking upon entering. Ordered boneless chicken wings and tomato soup. There was barely any chicken covered in tons of breaded hard covering. I don't know where to even start - of all the places I have been too, I have never been so disappointed to give it one star. I've been to this particular Friendly's over the years, but it has been quite some time since I have experienced this establishment. My wife and I were coming back from a day of Poker Runs and Customer Appreciation Parties and were feeling pretty good going in. We decided to chase the food we had eaten earlier with what better than a Friendly's Sundae. The service, while not outright horrible, was lacking to say the least. Our waiter was polite, soft-spoken, but unfortunately had a difficult time understanding what we wanted to order - which simply said - was two identical orders of one of their menu choices as is. We didn't ask for anything else or special other than unsweetened iced teas. Once the order showed up, it was wrong. We tried to get it fixed, but that was a mess. The manager wasn't helpful either, treating the whole ordeal as though it were our fault. Needless to say we left unhappy over the whole experience. I won't say we won't ever be back again - but it will most likely be a long, long time before we do. On the bright-side, the ice cream was good, the fixings for it were good as well, but the service - a key ingredient to the entire eating-out experience - needs a whole lotta work. read more

We have gone to this Friendly's several times because it is close by and we like their ice cream. Every time, we have been ignored by staff until I have asked for someone to help me. While waiting there I noticed that not only is it filthy but it smells disgusting. Yesterday I ordered a sundae with hot fudge and peanut butter cups. It literally had 2 small drops of fudge and a peanut butter cup on top, not pieces mixed in. It was later in the evening so they we're not understaffed or overworked. My friend told me about this place and how she used to come here as little girl and get really good ice creams.... I ended up coming here for ice cream one evening and came back 3 consecutive days to order full meals! My wife and I drove 20 minutes on a Tuesday from our house at 8:20 pm to get ice cream. I checked the hours on the internet and it said they were open till 10 pm. We arrived and the doors are locked. They conveniently have their hours listed on the door that they are open Sunday through Thursday 8 am to 8 pm and the other days they are open to 10 pm. I'm getting really annoyed that business hours do not match by what you see on the internet. How difficult is it to update? So now we wasted 40 minutes of our night when we could have run to a store instead. At least they update their hours accordingly. read more

This place looks absolutely disgusting. The ceiling looks like it's about to fall down at several places, there are dead bugs (cockroaches probably) on top of the plastic covers of the lights in the middle of the restaurant, ripped seats that they tried to fix with tape, lots of dust on the air-vents and the sink in the men's restroom looks like it's about to fall off the wall. Also their freezer at the entrance has large amounts of ice at the bottom like they haven't defrosted or cleaned it the past 10 years. I recommend only to come here for their ice cream. We eat at this location about 1-2 times a month. Food is always consistent and ice cream is delicious. Servers are always super sweet. Granted the interior of the restaurant is in need of refurbishment but the soul of the place is often overlooked. If you are a regular the staff treats you like family and it's a very kid friendly environment. The new menu just came out and now has a lobster roll that is classic and beats any of the other excuses for lobster rolls in town. It's not perfect but it's a step up from the canned lobster claws thrown into a roll by the other places that serve it. At the end of the meal the small ice cream sundaes are delicious and a bargain and beat most of the lackluster desserts that are served in this area. read more

It was my first time visiting and we walked in the door and waited at the front to be seated for ten minutes. Unsure if it was a seat yourself since there were several open tables, I went to the counter to ask the lady at the cash register and before I could even finish my sentence she cut me off and said "you need to be patient we are actually busy" and went back to whatever she was doing. Almost left then but my boyfriend convinced me to stay. We waited about ten more minutes and finally we were seated. We ordered and the wait for the food was a bit long. We stick out like a sore thumb in here with 4 children in our party. When we walked in everyone stared. We sit down and waitresses walk by, no greeting. Then we order and I questioned the peanut butter sundaes. Waiter tells me the peanut butter cup sundae is better than Reese pieces sundae and it has loads of peanut butter in it. Sundae comes and there is ONE Reese cup on it, and a flood of chocolate sauce. It taste nothing like peanut butter. I politely tell the waiter and he informs me that the sundae was made correctly. I was just sharing that I wasn't happy with taste. Don't name a sundae a Reese Peanut butter sundae and in its details say a peanut butter explosion and it NOT have a peanut butter flavor. Other people in my party, had the monster mash and the amount of whipped cream on it leveled out the amount of actual ice cream. Chocolate shake was good. Caramel sundae was okay and cookies and cream sundae was covered in hot fudge and not enough ice cream. I now understand why the location closer to home shut down. I wouldn't return. The best part of this place is that it's walking distance to a couple hotels. Why pay $15 for breakfast at the hotel when you can get a quick workout and the same food for half the price? Service, food, prices were all ok. There's little to distinguish this place from Denny's/Coco's/Carrow's/Etc in terms of breakfast/lunch/dinner, service, and ambiance. The ice cream parlor is pretty decent, but nothing special. Way better than Baskin Robins (none of that weird mass-produced after taste), but not as rich and creamy as Cold Stone. read more
