WARNING: Friendly's does NOT sell real ice cream, they sell dreadful frozen dairy desert, which is merely tasteless skim milk with ultra-cheap, horrible tasting vegetable oil substituted for delicious dairy fat. This "desert" tastes like unseasoned vegetables with sugar added. Yuck! I just wasted $40 on several containers of Cherry Chocolate Chunk that changed from real ice cream when I bought it a few months ago to awful tasting frozen dairy desert (no dairy fat) today. No more Friendly's for us because they sold out for more profit, as if they were not already making a windfall. There are still premium brands that make real ice cream, so buy them and skip Friendly's the sellout. read more

Stopped in to celebrate a birthday lunch at this location and it's still an easy spot to enjoy some grub with ice cream for the kiddos. (Not always the best parking lot to get out of though.) The inside hasn't changed much over the years, our server was nice and good with the kids. He had one heck of a memory and didn't forget one thing. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen area looked clean. The regular menu has apps - wings, mac & cheese, mozz sticks, quesadillas, soups, waffle fries and fried pickles. Sandwiches/burgers/wraps/super melts and salads. They have a handful of entrees too. The kids menu has chicken tenders, sliders, hot dogs, grilled cheese and mac and cheese. Sides were fruits of veggies. The Crispy Buffalo Chicken Wrap I had was good. It wasn't blow your mind good, just a simple solid wrap. The fries were meh. The kids enjoyed their sliders and sides before getting to the main event.... Ice Cream! Between the sundae's, regular ice cream, Friend-Z (Think DQ Blizzard), Fribble (milkshake) & floats they got you covered. The kids kept it simple and built their own sundae's. I skipped Ice Cream, but the kids devoured theirs. For decades they still have their take out freezer filled with ice cream cakes, pints and half gallons in the same spot. I'm glad this Friendly's is still around. It brings back memories of a simpler time in Bensalem! read more

Food is a lot better. They have a whole new set of staff too and they are friendly and knowledgeable. They all do their jobs and there were no issues. The waitress we had was constantly checking on us and making sure we had what we needed . read more

I stopped by the Friendly's in Bensalem on Friday night and ordered a vanilla Fribble -- and I was not disappointed. Every sip was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. You can really tell they use real cream, and they blended the milkshake perfectly. It had just the right consistency -- not too thick, not too thin. It's rare to find places like this anymore; Friendly's feels like a dying breed, and I wish there were more locations around. Very affordable, great quality, and a little nostalgic too. I'll definitely be back! read more

All the food was cold, the bacon on my loaded fries looked weeks old. Just everything wasn't worth coming back.

great food and service the atmosphere was great. I do miss the nostalgic taste of the cotton candy soda. my girlfriends Shirley temple was phenomenal read more

Had sushi down the street for dinner with two friends. Felt like having ice cream afterwards so we ran in Friendly's. I didn't even know this restaurant was there! They have a to go window where you can order, in the lobby. It was later on a Friday evening so when we walked in there was only one other person waiting. We each ordered. Waited about ten minutes for our ice cream orders. When we left there were a lot of people ordering and/or picking up. When I got in the car I realized my order was completely wrong. My friend took it in for me to be fixed. If it didn't have candy on it that I dislike, I would have just kept it. My friend said the woman who took our orders wasn't very nice when she went back in. Another employee stepped up to the counter and took it to fix. She was very nice, she made me a new order and we were on our way. read more

Haven't been to a Friendly's in forever, so my sister and I decided to check it out! My French Dip SuperMelt was delicious! Two of my favorites in one! I wish my fries were hot, but my clam chowder was hot and delicious so that's a plus! My sister enjoyed her Philly Cheesesteak SuperMelt and her onion rings which were hot and with real onions she said! Lol We both enjoyed our sundaes at the end! Our waiter was friendly and attentive! Two thumbs up to him! read more

Great service, fun menu, and delicious food. Wonderful place to take kids and family's. Best ice cream!

we had a great server who was very pleasant and checked on us a bunch. We enjoy the mid century diner theme throughout and it's very clean! We had super fast service and delicious food and dessert. 10/10 We had the best, "All American Cheeseburger with fries" and the Epic "Reese pieces sundae" for dessert! So yummy! read more

I came to this Friendly's with my two young boys this week. It's early Spring but feels like Winter. I used to work at friendlys in Long Island, NY as a teenager. So I knew it as very family oriented. I don't recall the menu being so elementary. But this is def a space for you to bring the kids! All of the food is very child friendly...from the tuna sandwich to the chicken pops to the drinks and the ice cream desserts! I can't stress enough that this place is for kids which was my sought after little of place for my kids but if you don't like kids or are looking for top chef food, this is not the place for you. I ordered a fishamajig (see what I mean) which is just a fish sandwich and it came with a very limp salad, super undesirable but kids don't like salads so it made sense. My boys had a quesadilla and chicken pops. The pics kind of speak for themselves but it's basically all food suitable for toddlers and kids. They had nice staff who were helpful and patient, and the ice cream deserts were great, hence the higher rating. read more

Food was pricey but I was very happy. I was able to make a banana split the way I wanted .

Ordered on app and picked up ice cream. Love, love the peanut butter topping - hands down the best yum. Perfectly made with a cherry on the top. Thanks Friendly's read more

A truly pleasant experience for a diner. Located along Street Road in Bensalem, this Friendly's outpost was my first time experiencing Friendly's. While I chose to pass on dessert (gasp!), I did order the Lemon Pepper Fish for lunch, which was wonderfully seasoned and the fish was pleasantly flaky. It was a great option on the healthier end of the spectrum, especially when compared to the other more traditional diner fare. The service was attentive, the decor was definitely retro, and the ambiance was busy but not overly loud. The two fish filets were accompanied by rice and steamed veggies. I plan to visit again, and I'm very open to purchasing Friendly's brand ice cream at the supermarket. read more

I love Friendly's - as long as you know what you're getting yourself into. You go for the ice cream. The Reese's pieces or peanut butter cup is my favorite. They have meals where ice cream comes with the meal. Lunch and dinner kid meals come with ice cream for $5. How can you beat that?! Kids can build their own sundae with 3 toppings which is fun but messy. Breakfast kids meals do not come with ice cream but are pretty filling. Breakfast for adults is 50% off Monday to Friday. I just paid $9 for 3 breakfasts which is unreal. Waffle, French toast and pancakes all fine. Kids meals come with bacon or sausage. I saw the elite review posting 1 star for kids kraft Mac and cheese and hot dog. Friendlys is not known for having 5 star food. It's better than fast food or Dairy Queen though. Salads aren't that healthy but the chicken fingers and fries are good. So know that you won't find anything healthy on the menu and only go when you want to eat 1000+ calorie meal. Even their sodas are huge. I loved this place as a child (what kid doesn't love ice cream) and love that it's around for my kids so stop posting the 1 star reviews and enjoy it for the ice cream shop restaurant it is. Plus it's super cheap. You can't find kids meals for $5 anywhere nowadays. And also it's super kid friendly so you don't have to feel weird bringing your little monsters into a restaurant ;) read more

Terrible raw burgers served after waiting 45 minutes for our food. This is after waiting to be seated for 30 minutes. The funny thing is although the restaurant isn't crowded we sat waiting for a table. After complaining about being seated due to the fact there was tables available, they finally seated us. We probably should have just left the restaurant because it only got worse. They have a lack of management at this restaurant. No one seemed to know what they were doing. It's a shame because, at one time it used to be very good! read more

I've been going to friendly's for many years. It's always been a good restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You would never think a place like this would have good Breakfast but they do. Everyone should give it a try. I got the lumberjack breakfast. And came with scrabble eggs, 3 peices of bacon, and French toast, and a freind of mying got the Samething. And can't go wrong, with 2 breakfast and 1 orange juice and coffee for $11. Yup that's all. Special going buy one breakfast get 2nd breakfast at half price. the dinners are even better to. Always good. I've always been a fan of the burgers and of course the Buffalo chicken sandwiches and strips the fries always have a nice crisp and seasoning to them. It's a family freindly restaurant. Gets packed on the weekends, so plan on waiting awile to be seated. Service is always fast, always seated 10 min from entering!! On a weekday. Always enjoy the fudge sundaes. Just what they are known for. Mabe the near future I will give other stuff a try on the menu. Everything looks so good. And always comes out hot. read more

always loved Friendly's! even when I was a kid! Fast, great service, and yummy food as always!

Just spend 67.00 for absolute garbage! Chicken was burnt bread kind of was too! No ranch on sandwiches when I only asked for no ranch only one one! Salads were wilted and gross didn't even bother eating threw them away. Definitely will NOT be eating here again. Thought it would be a nice change from fast food but should have just gone to Burger King read more

Okay so let's speak atmosphere: The atmosphere here in actually pretty calm. A little loud ( customers ) but other than that nothing unbearable. Let's speak on waitress: So today the waitress we had was actually EXTREMELY pleasant. Melissa She kept the interaction going with my family and myself which is a PLUS. The last waitress we had here WAS HORRIBLE. Just did not seem happy with her position at all nor putting it to action. I wish I could remember her name I would absolutely let it be known. So a little background on me and this Friendly's. I have been to this Friendly's OVER 20 times. The last time we came here which was about 2 weeks ago. I was walking in as usual. The moment I walk in about 5 people that are just in a group talking BEGIN to stare at me, they say NOTHING they just continue to stare to the point that I stared back UNTIL they stopped and looked away. Can you imagine how awkward I felt? You have to eye battle someone the moment you walk in to the point that you have to MAKE them stop starring at you horrible! This Friendly's is not so friendly EITHER! When you walk in, it takes SO LONG for them to even greet you or even acknowledge that you have just WALKED IN to PAY ( provide the business to keep its legacy alive) it's pretty insane. It's actually sad, why we continue to come back? ‍ Sometimes I wonder myself This place can be a hit or miss which is sad because the name of it SPEAKS VOLUMES RIGHT? We have to literally walk up to the WORKERS and say we want to be seated, because of not they will either stare at you till their eyes fall off OR they will just ignore you. This Friendly's has so much potential I just don't think the management of this Friendly's location is enforcing the team to be more polite, FRIENDLY.. Luckily TODAY Melissa WAS EXTREMELY A1 so GOOD JOB GIRL and thank you for being so Courteous and kind. You have done your job exceptionally today read more

Today, September 29, me and my grandmother had ordered from friendly's, in which we received 9 mozzarella sticks in which the cheese wasn't even melted, 3 tenders, and a skimpy cheese quesadilla. Take out experience was okay. We ordered chicken quasadilla and a buffalo chicken platter. The worker was diligent and rang us up in a timely matter. We waited a total of 15 minutes to get our food. Within 5 minutes our sundae came out. I'm not sure why they gave it to us already and wouldn't keep it in the freezer considering it was 99 degrees that day. They forgot our order of fries that we paid for. Otherwise the food was decent. I was never a fan of styrofoam take out bc it really modified the food. If anything, I would come back for a sit down meal and not take out. read more

The ice cream sunde was decent with hot fudge and marshmallow cream. Other than that, a horrible experience. Unless you are taking a group of young kids with no tastebuds out for a calorie fest and don't care if the place may not pass a health inspection, I would avoid it. Very dirty, the bottom of my sunde glass was dirty and sticky, decorations from the 70s (looked like it at least,) and it took 20 minutes to get seated with only 8 tables full. Waitress was nice but the experience was not. read more

If I was able to zero stars I would!!!!!! todays experience was a disgrace. The food sucks it went downhill the burger was gross didn't even have lettuce and tomato on it like I asked, the fries tasted disgusting like the oil hasn't been changed in a year, then we ordered ice cream and our ice cream sat on the counter for almost 15 mins melting, if I wanted a shake I woulda ordered one. Then I asked for walnuts on mine didn't get them asked for extra cherries for my son didn't get them. The Managers here really need to get their act together and train their staff better and honestly I should be reimbursed my money for today's meal shouldn't have paid $50 for our meal!!! Then to top it off the bathrooms smelled horrible had Pre everywhere how can you allow your restroom to get that bad you should be checking it every hour, What a disaster today at Friendly's seriously wouldn't recommend them what so ever!!!!! read more
