Band playing that night. The Rented Mules.

Cool little neighborhood bar that's apparently also a music school and a coffee bar. On the night we were there they had live music. Nice little place that was not overpriced or overly crowded. If you're hungry, they have pizzas at a reasonable price. Many beers on tap. Atmosphere is great. Tin ceilings. Old school bar. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Nice place. Nice people.

It's true, this bar is pretty friendly. They recently bought the space next door and opened the bar up a little for live music. The original Friendly Tap is a giant bar, curving around the entire room with a little bit of extra space around it, a couple video games in back and a decent jukebox. The new room has a stage area and a few tables. There is some lovely wood paneling and vintage neon beer guitar signs. I especially appreciate the picture with the owner and Svengoolie on the wall, since it is Berwyn after all. It's right across the street from Oak Park, so anyone suffering from the dry village blues should cross the street and check it out. It's not as scary as you might think. In fact, it was pretty nice.

Best part about Friendly Coffee is the big front window that gets opened up wide on warm days!

A true old school dive bar that's owned by a local musician. So the tunes are always great. And it's truly friendly.

Great Cup of Coffee, wholesome oatmeal and a cozy atmosphere inside with soft melodic music.

    Is this an 18+ bar?

There is a cafe side and a bar side. When I went there with my 20 year-old daughter the bartender told us she had to stay in the cafe side. 21+ can take their drinks to the cafe but I believe under 21 have to stay in the cafe. That was fine for…

The place is clean, the workers are friendly, and the beer selection is awesome. Our participants regularly stay after the Trivia ends just to hang out. Many of them started hanging out there on non-Trivia nights too. Although they do not have a kitchen, they are more than willing to let you know about takeout options nearby and will facilitate your order and delivery. For example, we get pizza for the Trivia participants from a place down the street. If you want a great neighborhood bar where you can hang out with friends [and even make new friends] in a comfortable atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.

Has a few basic beers on tap, and lots of local beers in bottles and cans. There's also entertainment in the form of slots making this a place for games. A pretty basic looking bar. It's only different because it also has lots of slots. There's quite a lot of these. As for the beer, there's also a lot. It's about $5 to get some cans of the better stuff. Liquor is cheap. It's about $6 for a typical mixed drink and these are pretty strong. Has no food. They sometimes have frozen pizzas. Good place to hang awhile. It's not pretty inside or outside but it's not that bad. This is conveniently located close to the Berwyn Metra station.

The flight was around $9 if I recall, which is probably one of the cheapest you can get anywhere. My favorite was the hazy ipa. The nitro pour was good but too smooth, felt like no carbonation whatsoever. The server was super friendly, allowed us to grab a pizza nearby. Great ambiance. Perhaps seating up to 30-35.

There's no noisy music or TVs, making you pay more attention to the beers and other drink options. A small place but it still has lots of beers to choose from. It's a pretty nice looking place and there's not a whole lot of room. This place usually isn't that busy though. Mostly because it's not as well known. We came in and tried some beers and snacks. It's about $7 for a pint. That's not bad for a small craft brewery like this. Best one was the Baltic Porter. This had coffee and dark chocolate aromas, with fig and raisin notes, and it was quite strong. A heavy beer at 9.8% ABV. There's bar snacks like cashews at $4 a bag or like that. Come here if looking for a brewery that puts focus on beers and not games. If looking for a brewery where the main thing is beers, this is it. There's only a few snacks but you can bring food in or get it delivered or whatever.
