But the last two months he has just been radio silent despite multiple attempts to contact him. I wish I could be putting up a better review because he does good work, but if you still see this post still it means that he hasn't come back to finish the work. In my book, he's a con-artist until proven otherwise. 4/23/2022 update: Still absolutely no progress. Got a text from Daniyar Tuyakbayev last week: "please give me time until the 27th or I'll refund you. Sorry for the delay, out of my control. Hope you understand. Thanks." I will update again after the 27th to let you know how honest and trustworthy he is. --- Suspecting a Fraud in Progress Similar to Nir B's experience, I am getting the delaying tactics. Daniyar Tuyakbayev (from Aesthetic Metals or Glass Railing Doctor) visited my house in January 2022, collected $8,500 (half of the total estimate) to order the glass panels for my deck railing, and promised 2-4 weeks to completion in writing. Since then he has not started the work, blaming supply chain issues with the glass industry but refusing to provide any proof that the glass panels have actually been ordered. I am filing a complaint to the county attorney's office to investigate a possible fraud. I will provide updates to this post if there is any progress, and would be happy to retract this review if the work actually gets done or when I get refunded. But if you still see this post, it means that the work hasn't gotten started, I'm still $8,500 down, and please don't fall for a possible fraud.

We appointed Aethestic metals september 2017 to replace some existing railings. Their workman left…read morethe project on 20th November, saying he was going on holiday and said his colleague would finish the work on the following Monday. No one turned up to finish the work. In addition rust is already showing through the painted steel they installed. Some bolts are missing and the gate lock doesn't work or fit the gate frame. We have had the remedial work quoted by another contractor. They quoted $3,700 to paint the railings and 'make good' the unfinished work. We have tried to contact Dan Tuyakbayev of Aesthetic Metals several times. He said he would finish the work. He agreed its of poor quality and not finished. He has failed to complete the work, contact us or turn up. This has gone on for months and is deeply frustrating. We have requested a refund several times. He has not refunded us or completed the work. Some of his email replies have been threatening, untrue and unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to use this company.

We can't recommend him enough. When you find a good general contractor you want to scream their name from the rooftops because you know how hard it is to find someone you trust to fix and build things in your home and do it right, and you want them to have work forever. We started our journey looking for someone to fix a few things around the house, because we'd had such a bad run of luck with contractors and handy people. He did such a wonderful job that when it came time to remodel our kitchen he was the natural choice. He and Pedro did such a beautiful job on our kitchen. I had Devol Kitchen dreams, and I feel like we made them come true. There's hardly a room in the house that he hasn't worked on. In addition to giving us a beautiful kitchen, he has also built a beautiful custom desk for my husband's office, a custom enclosure for a projector screen, fixed several nearly 100 year old doors in our home that another contractor had cut down crooked, rebuilt crawl space access doors, added a crawl space access door, re-framed and replaced two doors, replaced a window in our office, and lots and lots of other small stuff. Johnny is also a dream to work with. We've had so many contractors out to our home, many focus on how hard and difficult the job will be. Not so with Johnny, it is always "no problem" or "let me think on it and we'll figure something out."

Benito came quickly, showed us a number of options and explained the building codes to us, and helped us decide which ones to choose. He was personable, punctual and helpful, and his price was very reasonable. His wife, Emilia, is always available by phone and can get in touch with him right away. He fabricated the new railing up to code exactly as we had agreed, got rid of the old one, and installed the new one. It is strong and quite nice looking, with small custom decorations on it. He is very skilled and could have done more decorative touches, but we wanted a more plain look. I will try to upload some before and after photos later. When he finished, just because he wanted to do something nice for us, he fixed a couple of our doors that were sticking -- for free! I recommend him in the highest terms.

Just recently, we went back to get a few more shelves (what better review could there be), I realized I never posted about how happy I was. We were originally looking at big box stores for some organizational shelves for our garage. I figured we would be able to find something, but honestly I was amazed at how bad the choices were at most places: flimsy shelves, not many options for sizes, and the prices were not even all that cheap. Finally, I expanded my search, and found Western Shelving. I thought they might not want to deal with a private homeowner, but it was no problem: I called them up, told them what I wanted, and picked up the parts with no problem. The price was close to what the big box stores were charging, and the quality is seriously incredibly better. Really, there's almost no comparison: the shelves we put in last year, and have used/abused with all sorts of heavy, messy garage equipment, are working perfectly. Like I said, when we decided to add a few more shelves, I didn't even spend any time considering other options -- I just went right back to Western Shelving.

He told me to go home and find 2 designs that he would forward to a sign company. He would then transfer their work to metal panels then send out to painter for power coating. I did as he asked and e-mailed two designs. 10 days, not a word. Send him an e-mail expressing frustration. He said since I was short with him good luck finding someone else. Gas, time (wasted) no phone call. Just bad business. Don't waste your time like I did.
