Good and service are good. Was much better under prior management. Not the serving size has gotten smaller while the price has increased.

We drove to Brookhaven to eat lunch on a Sunday afternoon because we knew there were several good places to eat. Much to our dismay, the vast major majority of them were closed on Sunday. We decided to grab Mexican food at a place that seems very popular for the area. We ate there several years ago and remembered it to be good. We walked in and the place was packed so we thought this was a good sign. They brought a basket of chips that were cold, and obviously from a bag. If they fry their own tortilla chips there, I will eat my flip-flop. I will say that the salsa was delicious, although the cilantro was barely chopped. I like to order from the à la carte menu so that I can try several things. I ordered a ground beef enchilada, a tamale, and a crunchy taco. The crunchy taco was good. A typical taco at a Mexican restaurant. The tamale was nice and moist, which is hard to find in most Mexican restaurants as they tend to be very dry. Enchilada was a typical ground beef enchilada. Here's where the problem lies. These did not have a authentic Rojo sauce. They were topped with a almost pink tomato gravy sauce. It was very offputting and did not have a good flavor. Our server was pleasant, the ambience was that of a typical Mexican restaurant and clean. The person who checked us out was very pleasant. Will we go back? Absolutely not. If you can't make an authentic rojo sauce or serve warm, freshly cooked tortilla chips, I'm not up for trying anything else on your menu. Sorry but Tortilla Soup has better food even though it's pricier. Did I take pics? No. Shame on me but I was hungry, needless to say I left disappointed. read more

What a lovely spot we come to town often to visit great grandma, we have not been here before it was a different restaurant last time we came here! What a pleasant surprise one of my fave places to try Mexican chips and salsa were good as usual I added salt never enough salt for me that's not a criticism just Persia l preference. I had the Birra Tacos outstanding some of the best I have had full of flavor! Hubby had enchiladas which he thoroughly enjoyed the beans were very good and the rice was on point not dry fluffy and flavorful. You have to choose your food carefully. The asada burrito and quesaburito (sp close enough) don't miss. Some of the other things are dry as the Sahara. The Hennessy marg is good. Too much for me alone. Recently the air conditioner wasn't working so it was incredibly hot. read more

By far the best Mexican food around. Some of my favorites are el pastor quesadillas, Mexican ramen, quesabirrias, Cali burrito, street tacos, street corn, chorizo queso, and of course the grande margaritas in any flavor. The service is great and always friendly. The ambiance is pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant around here. Overall excellent experience with this place. This was our first visit here and it was great. The food was hot and fresh. The chips were thin and hot which is my favorite. Our service was top notch. We decided to go to Brookhaven and eat BBQ. Went to our favorite spot which we haven't been to in a while and now it's a Mexican restaurant. It was crowded with a 10 minute wait so we figured it must be good. We both ordered chicken fajitas. The chips and salsa were ok but be aware if you are 30% of the population that doesn't like cilantro, or 70% of the population that likes cilantro, this salsa is loaded with it. The fajitas were bland and overcooked to the point it was dry and chewy. Without cheese, sour cream,pico, etc. they would have been inedible. The plate was steaming hot as it should have been and the onions and peppers were prepared perfectly but once again bland with no seasoning. The chicken was on top and was barely warm. read more

I have to admit I was not expecting much, since all other places in town were not up to my standard. I am glad I was wrong. It's located in a huge house behind the movie theater. The hardwood floors are beautiful. It has room to accommodate large groups but is equally accommodating of the single person. The service is a 10/10. Everyone is friendly. I've been here several times and only once did my waiter get exasperated that was noticiable and it was when I ordered fried ice cream for my kids after we had finished eating. He probably already had my ticket ready and would have to redo it. For that reason I didn't ask for anything else that day, and they were super busy. Otherwise, no issues. I have had everything on the menu except for seafood items. The quesadillas, quesabirrias, Mexican street tacos, taquitos, burritos, friend's chicken, salads, rice and beans were all good. I did not like the carne asada cause it was tough, but maybe it's supposed to be. I personally didn't care for the texture however the seasoning was good. Their salsa is hit or miss which lets me know it's made fresh. The chips are warm and crisp. I love Mexican food so I go a lot. There are other Mexican restaurants in the area, this is just my favorite, for the service and the quesabirrias and loco burrito. They also make a mean Arnold Palmer!
