New Hampshire Arthritis Center - Dr. Marks, Dr. Mirza and Dr. Lynch (now retired)

Have been coming to Elliot Rheumatology Associetes (Yelp prefers the secondary name of New…read moreHampshire Arthritis Center) since my then rheumatologist Dr. Lynch created the department when he merged his practice with the new Elliot River's Edge several years ago. He handpicked Drs. Marks and Mirza as his associates. Sadly, for me and a friend who went to him, Dr. Lynch retired in May, 2015. He passed my care to Dr. Mirza. I was supposed to meet her a couple weeks prior to my rotator cuff surgery in September, 2015, but her schedule had a conflict so they pushed me back a couple months. Eek! Post op I was having a lot of joint pain being off one of my meds for several weeks until any risk of infection was gone. Doesn't take long to come out of remission. I needed her blessing to go back on it, and she didn't want to do that without meeting me; they squeezed me in same day I called for help. I really liked her. She's straight forward without being condescending. Thorough and thoughtful in the questions she asks about meds and symptoms and is making some changes that seem to be working so far. Easy to upset the apple cart when tweaking dosages. She likes to chat, and we go off topic. As I often did with Dr. Lynch. Never feel rushed, and she doesn't keep me waiting for more than a few minutes, though I know her appointment schedule is jammed. She and Dr. Marks are trying to find another rheumatologist to join them; taking on new patients is almost impossible right now. Apparently there's a shortage in the country, so any med students out there with an interest in arthritis in its many different forms, please consider coming to Manchester, NH! The Rheumatology department shares incoming phone and fax lines with the Orthopaedics and Surgical Specialists department, so when you call, the automated system will identify both (it refers to Elliot Rheumatology Associates, not New Hampshire Arthritis Center in case someone is confused). Just follow the prompts to select your provider to make/change appointments, leave questions or request medication refills.

Good to know you can come here on Sunday morning at 9 AM and get seen by a doctor within minutes…read more I recommend this place if you have to see someone quickly. There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot, there is a receptionist on the first floor to give directions where to go or help with any other needs. Beth Israel's's Urgent Care is located on the second floor, there is an elevator a wheelchair if needed. The office suite is clearly marked urgent care, very important. If you are stressed or in a situation you don't want to have to second guess where to go. My doctor examined me thoroughly and had a medical assistant. My exam was quick. This is urgent care and being quick is a good thing. . I did not have to go to an emergency room for which could take hours maybe even days to be seen, especially at a non Beth Israel emergency room. Even then, taking up the space and time in an emergency room makes it difficult for those people that are really in crisis with a high need medical issue. If I needed an emergency room, BI Urgent Care would have sent me or made sure I got there safely. So this was the perfect option for me rather than waiting for an appointment after a minor car accident. Or emergency room. I'm very pleased with Beth Israel, as medical provider in all areas of care including surgeries. Hands down, the best option. Discharge/service note was giving to me at record speed and my medication was called in in the same manner. I've been coming for my primary care to this location for several years. Professional staff at the front desk make my visits run smooth. the doctor examined me, I felt confident in his ability to assess me. Today was pleasant and efficient I was in and out of there quickly. And that's what I want when you have been in an accident or some other life incident.

I called my primary and was advised to go to the closest Urgent Care…read more I was seen very quickly. The support staff, nurse, doctor, and XRay tech were all great. Within a short time I had a diagnosis and meds were called in to my pharmacy. I'm on the mend now and could not be more grateful. Super-easy access on and off Route 1 via Route 16 eastbound. Ample parking. A lab and XRay facility right there. A pharmacy right next door. Very comforting to have this facility nearby.

From the NP to the doctors, I have always been treated well. They listen when I describe the…read moreissue/problem, and make appropriate recommendations. Been going here over 10 years, and my wife goes as well. There is a reason they keep expanding, and it is because they do a good job. I've never waited as long as others have said, and I always get an appointment rather than just walk in. They also have recommended me to outside experts when needed who have been very helpful.

They are great! Until you actually have a medical crisis. They claim to have an urgent care center,…read morebut if you try to go there, they tell you to go to the hospital ER. They would rather you go to the ER during the rising pandemic... I digress. Do the other things they want me to do. Nope, not good enough. Treated like a malingerer, no sympathy or offer to help. Just - "You faker! You took ONE WHOLE MG instead the .5 you were prescribed! You disobeyed my instructions! Of course you ran out early! No, you can't refill your prescription four days early, and no, we will not discuss why .5 once a day seems to not be sufficient (even though the general dosage is 1mg twice a day, or .5mg twice a day) or why a nurse practitioner said this prescription wasn't even therapeutic, you can't have any more, just go suffer. "And let's sign a contract that I will prescribe and you will take it as prescribed." Like I am a teenager signing a drinking contract with my mom. Get out here. That's what the instructions on the bottle are. So, if the lowest dose of .5mg doesn't help I just have to suffer until...I can reach you and get an appointment so you can say - no, you can't take a whole mg? Even though everywhere says 1 mg is appropriate. Do they like to see people suffer, or is Ritvo on some power trip that she would deny medication to someone suffering as punishment because they disobeyed her orders? Under the guise of "safety." When you are prescribing under the recommended dose and your patient is suffering AND running out early, you just...do nothing. What is this some sort of test: Will patient suffer at the alter of my instructions, rather than defy them? Reach out for help. But not here! They just make up whatever they want and don't care about helping patients.
