Having been in another PT organization previously for hip and back issues, my experience at Orthopedics Plus was the most positive and productive I’ve ever had. Joe Bernardo worked miracles on a shoulder with 2 rotator cuff tears and a ruptured bicep tendon. I opted not to have surgery, which I understood was not always successful and spent 4 months in PT with Joe. The treatment plan was always specific to my current range of motion, pain level and the activity level I wanted to achieve. We diligently worked through all of the functionality. I cannot say enough about how responsive and respectful Joe was at every session and I am over the moon with the result. I have come to Orthopaedics Plus 3 times for various running related injuries and I have been so impressed with the level of service I have received each time. Most recently, I worked with Chris and the team on some knee pain I was experiencing during runs. The thoroughness with which my situation was diagnosed was highly impressive. He put together a recovery plan to get me back out on the road for runs with a comprehensive sequence of stretching, massaging, strengthening, and form correction. I have so many tools in my tool belt now to prevent relapse into a similar situation and I have Chris and the team to thank! Everyone I interacted with in the practice is top notch - from the front desk staff to the PTs to the assistants. After having physical therapy more than once for a rotator cuff injury with minimal or no relief I started at orthopedic plus with Emily. First thing I noticed was that she focused not only on my arm and shoulder but on the connecting structures as well, my neck and the muscles in my upper back and chest. For the first time I could feel the relief after the first few visits. Everyone I dealt with at Orthopaedics plus seemed to truly be focused on a more wholistic approach to healing. The quality of care at Orthopaedics Plus in Beverly is very good, but I was frustrated with their lack of adequate staff to have appointments available. When I attempted to make more appointments I was told that not only my PT but the entire staff was booked for three weeks out. It gave me two impressions 1. That they are poorly managed and taking on more patients than they can accommodate. #2 They did not value me as a patient (which I concluded when the front desk made no attempt to try to fit me in for my once a week 15 min appointment). I was just told that maybe a cancellation would come up. For a service that requires consistent appointments to show improvement, they seem to be doing things wrong. read more

After being away on vacation, I came home with vertigo. Vertigo was so bad that I couldn't do anything because the room was spinning and I couldn't even walk . I was very depressed because I felt so out of control. I couldn't be left alone, I couldn't drive. I felt trapped. I was told that physical therapy could correct vertigo. I went to "Orthopaedics Physical Therapy" and was introduced to Alex Trotsky a physical therapist. Alex was amazing! First, he listened to my symptoms and assured me that this could be corrected. Alex's bedside manner was so friendly and he was so knowledgeable regarding vertigo, that I had hope. I went to four sessions with Alex. [Alex told me I could call or email him at any time if I had any questions or if I thought some of the symptoms were returning,] I strongly advise anyone who is suffering with vertigo to seek help by going to physical therapy! The staff here are great and have managed the tricky balance of being safe while still welcoming patients. The professional quality has always been high, and I've been coming off and on for various things for years. The therapists are wonderful. I bring an elderly relative weekly. However, the lady that works at front desk needs to close the divider window. We can hear every conversation when sitting in reception area. It's awful. Isn't it a hipaa violation? We know everyone's name, insurance, phone numbers, what is wrong with them etc. read more

I was dealing with shoulder pain and had trouble lifting and pushing. Since my treatment at OP, the pain is significantly less and I have an increased range of motion. Everyone is really friendly and it was quite easy to work in the treatments with my full time work schedule. Exercises for home were given to me at each session and my general well being and pain tolerance were accounted for at each session. I would highly recommend OP to any of my friends and family. My life has definitely changed. I am no longer in pain, but more importantly I learned so much about my body, what to do to avoid/alleviate/work through the pain. I am not an "exercise" person so I was reluctant to come to PT. However, Carolyn, very patiently, taught me what to do and once I realized that simple exercises would get me through this, I was hooked. I had setbacks and Carolyn was always able to assure me, and have me believe her, that setbacks were to be expected. I was the person who, if something hurt the LAST thing I would do was to touch or move it. I learned that moving/exercise could eliminate the pain. That so surprised me and delighted me! I would never have gotten through the pain and inability to function normally with PT and Carolyn. I now know what to do Before I teach, standing, for three hours, and what to do after in order to avoid pain. The clinicians, Carolyn and the staff are caring, nothing every seems to be a problem. They all also worked together, supporting each other and every staff person is always willing to help with every patient. I have already told my friends to use OP. Reason being Carolyn is great. The quality of my life has improved tremendously since starting physical therapy at Orthopaedics Plus. I had constant low back pain for 6 months which effected my sleep and day to day activities. After my treatments, I am stronger and my overall pain has subsided. From the moment I entered the office, the receptionists, therapists and aides, made me feel welcomed and supported. The receptionists were very accommodating to fit my appointments into my busy schedule. The therapists and aides worked together to ensure that my time and energy was utilized efficiently with the ultimate goal to make me feel better and stronger. The therapists are patient and encouraging. I was instructed on proper techniques and given home care instructions to continue my progress once therapy ended.
