I was a soccer referee for 24 years and he kept me going to pursue my passion. Now at 72 years old I developed bad headaches. After seeing my primary care physician and he referring me to many other specialists a neurologist diagnosed my problem as coming from muscular tension in my shoulder and my neck and sent me for physical therapy. The physical therapy helped a little bit and I have been doing the assigned stretches and exercises religiously but the problem did not go away totally. I ran into Dr. Mark Friedman at a health fair at Swampscott High School. He was demonstrating a procedure called MLS laser therapy for pain and to reduce inflammation . I told him about my sore knees and my headaches and made an appointment. After about 3 weeks of his help through neck and shoulder adjustments my shoulder neck and headaches are just about gone, the best I have felt in months. Then I decided to try the MLS laser for my knees. It is a series of 12 treatments from a laser machine , no pain, nothing invasive and I must say after 4 treatments so far I can tell the difference in my 72 year old knees, quite an improvement and I am optimistic that once the treatments are done this pain will be gone. I am so thrilled that my wife and I just happened into the health fair at the high school and I ran into Dr. Friedman. He handpicked Drs. Marks and Mirza as his associates. Sadly, for me and a friend who went to him, Dr. Lynch retired in May, 2015. He passed my care to Dr. Mirza. I was supposed to meet her a couple weeks prior to my rotator cuff surgery in September, 2015, but her schedule had a conflict so they pushed me back a couple months. Eek! Post op I was having a lot of joint pain being off one of my meds for several weeks until any risk of infection was gone. Doesn't take long to come out of remission. I needed her blessing to go back on it, and she didn't want to do that without meeting me; they squeezed me in same day I called for help. I really liked her. She's straight forward without being condescending. Thorough and thoughtful in the questions she asks about meds and symptoms and is making some changes that seem to be working so far. Easy to upset the apple cart when tweaking dosages. She likes to chat, and we go off topic. As I often did with Dr. Lynch. Never feel rushed, and she doesn't keep me waiting for more than a few minutes, though I know her appointment schedule is jammed. She and Dr. Marks are trying to find another rheumatologist to join them; taking on new patients is almost impossible right now. Apparently there's a shortage in the country, so any med students out there with an interest in arthritis in its many different forms, please consider coming to Manchester, NH! The Rheumatology department shares incoming phone and fax lines with the Orthopaedics and Surgical Specialists department, so when you call, the automated system will identify both (it refers to Elliot Rheumatology Associates, not New Hampshire Arthritis Center in case someone is confused). Just follow the prompts to select your provider to make/change appointments, leave questions or request medication refills.

There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot, there is a receptionist on the first floor to give directions where to go or help with any other needs. Beth Israel's's Urgent Care is located on the second floor, there is an elevator a wheelchair if needed. The office suite is clearly marked urgent care, very important. If you are stressed or in a situation you don't want to have to second guess where to go. My doctor examined me thoroughly and had a medical assistant. My exam was quick. This is urgent care and being quick is a good thing. . I did not have to go to an emergency room for which could take hours maybe even days to be seen, especially at a non Beth Israel emergency room. Even then, taking up the space and time in an emergency room makes it difficult for those people that are really in crisis with a high need medical issue. If I needed an emergency room, BI Urgent Care would have sent me or made sure I got there safely. So this was the perfect option for me rather than waiting for an appointment after a minor car accident. Or emergency room. I'm very pleased with Beth Israel, as medical provider in all areas of care including surgeries. Hands down, the best option. Discharge/service note was giving to me at record speed and my medication was called in in the same manner. I've been coming for my primary care to this location for several years. Professional staff at the front desk make my visits run smooth. the doctor examined me, I felt confident in his ability to assess me. Today was pleasant and efficient I was in and out of there quickly. And that's what I want when you have been in an accident or some other life incident.

So far so good .I'm not in pain yay!!! I certainly would recommend him to any of my friends and family or to anyone suffering in pain I think if he can help you he will. Doctor give you a white piece of paper and says give this too the girl at checkout. I should have read it but I didn't, I tought it was a script for fungus medication on my big toe. Well the check out girl turns aroun takes a small box off the shelf and says $45 dollars please. When I get home and I can see it is a doctors sample of i/2 oz tolnaftate cream. I checked on amazon and other stores that it cost $3 a tube dollars for 1 full oz of the cream. I hate being ripped off. The doctor cut and filed my nails with a dremel tool. I would have been better served at any vietnam nail girl in town.

I work in a medical office myself, and I know that even when you have a day scheduled so as not to get behind, sometimes complicated patients totally disrupt your flow. That being said, the only reason I did not offer a 5 star review is because I consistently go in for my appointments much later than they are booked, and no one offers any excuse. In my office we will often poke or heads in and offer the family to reschedule or see another provider after we've apologized on behalf of the provider who is running behind. If the MA's/flow management were a little more organized I would give this office 5 stars. My doctor herself definitely gets an A+!
