I had a very bad experience having an implant done by a general dentist/prosthedontist which failed after only 5 years and Dr. Turner had to redo the entire thing. It was a very involved process removing the old implant and replacing it with a much higher quality implant. Dr. Turner did an excellent job correcting the situation. I learned my lesson never to use a general dentist for an implant - go to a specialist. I highly recommend him without reservation for your implant, periodontal or diagnostic needs. He's the best there is!

Even then, after everything I had already been through, I was still doubtful and afraid to hope again. From the very first meeting with Dr. Sunyoung Ban, something felt different. During my consultation, he carefully showed me detailed photos of patients whose smiles and lives had been restored through his work. For the first time in a very long time, I began to feel a small sense of hope. For nearly two years, I lived without proper teeth or dentures. I suffered physically, emotionally, and mentally every single day. There were times when I felt hopeless enough to think about giving up on life completely. But when Dr. Ban saw my condition, he became emotional with me and genuinely cared about what I had been through. He worked incredibly hard to make me the best possible dentures, and I truly feel that meeting him was a gift from heaven. The new patient oral evaluation cost $176, and while insurance covered $79.20, that remaining balance was another surprise. Later, I even received an additional bill for $96.80 for what should've been a simple evaluation. It became clear to me that this office prioritizes billing opportunities over patient care, with an aggressively inflated treatment plan that felt more like a sales pitch than genuine dental advice. The worst decision I made was going there. The best decision was walking away before agreeing to their unnecessary, overpriced treatment plan. You can scam some people sometimes, but not all the time -- and karma always finds its way.

It was a wicked smooth process with no bumps in the road as both providers communicated efficiently. As someone who has a few diagnosis' that require attention to detail and care, I was well taken care of. For example, I do not like being laid all the way back as I have severe sleep apnea and I am a fat woman with large breasts. With those two factors, it can be harder for me to breathe if I am overly extended on my back. Dr. David was so great about it and stood to do work on my mouth even though I think I would have been ok! Side note for fat people concerned and reading: There are no fatphobic vibes at the practice and their equipment will hold you. I was about 410lbs at the appointments I will proceed to talk about. I'll be real with you, I was expecting some old white dude in his 50s or 60s because that is what I have always had for dentists, but turns out he is a educated young professional with a passion for dentistry so I had no doubt he could hang and get my humor. He made pleasant conversation and asked me questions about myself such as what I do for work, where I am from, and any additional medical diagnosis' he should know about. He is a natural speaker and made sure to equally share about himself when asked. He cleaned my teeth and wasn't upset when I gave him the time old lie that everyone tells their dentist "yes, I TRY to floss," haha! The following day I came in for a filling...it's almost as if we should floss to avoid those nasty little cavities! (Dr.David if you're reading this, I floss now and I'm not lying!)
