I am sorry but I have to be the one, this place has gone down hill since miss Friday is no longer the owner. I have come to this place for many.. many years talking over 20 years to purchase products I started with my grandmother making fast trips for her because she needed it for her clients well know beautician in Compton, Ca may I mention, or just even stopping by my granny and miss Friday talking for hours you hear me lol. Well I grew and became a beautician myself, and still shop even though it's over 20mins from my home loyal to the soil can we say and must I mention the good prices the once carried because let's be honest everyone has taken advantage of the high price rising, however I give it to them because they still keep it affordable. That's the most I can say about this place now overall is probably just the few good prices on items they still carry other than that this place has gone down and customer service it's at its lowest. I get it the attitudes are prone in the area but my god I don't deserve the lack of customer service they seem to carry because they just don't care. If you know them yes you probably have a good relationship with them hence the businesss has been around for years so yes I see the good in the few high rated comments but other than that this is a place I am sad I have come to conclusions I need to part ways with because the rude inconsiderate ways are just not wanted not to mention the sanitation of the place I wasnt going to go there but my god clean the place up even just a bit rearrange the place paint the walls it's been 20+ years and I understand but something has to give the community is what keeps them standing read more

I come in Fridays quite often. Everyone is welcoming and polite. The store is almost always when I come very busy. They have quite a bit of inventory, very good inventory for all types of hair. They do not only sell hair product they also have other products, soaps, facial cleansers, lipsticks, eyeliners, mascaras, scarfs, headbands, earrings, etc. Very good prices. Why I am posting this time is because they have a new young lady that now works there. She is very helpful, very kind, and engaging. I was sent there to pick up hair products that I had no idea about and she was just ready to assist. She had the hair already organized by the types, inches and color. She was able to tell me exactly where it was and if I was not happy with that she said Mr. Friday would be willing to go to the back and check for this other brand that i would probably like. The reason why I am mentioning her is because she fits right in to their family. She matches their energy. The Fridays are all about their customers, they are pleasant and delightful. I had a really good experience here. I'm so use to going to beauty supply stores where the person working couldn't help because they don't understand black hair. I had a picture my daughter sent for braids she wanted. It was a mixture of colors and I couldn't figure out what I needed to accomplish the look. The lady working was so helpful she knew exactly what I needed. This was the best! My daughters hair was perfect. So glad to know this place exist! read more

Although this business lacked in cleanliness, I was pleased with the customer service. As well as their prices. But BWARE folks!!!! While the store posted WARE a mask before entering. It was not enforced, as customers where being serviced without masks. There is very little space to move around in the store due to size and tremendous clutter. Social distancing is not happening here. This place needs a better plan to protect themselves and their customers from the spread COVID. They also need to go on the states/County website and download the proper postings for businesses that addresses COVID precautions. read more

This place has really gone downhill. It's junky and cluttered all the time. They don't take stuff out of the boxes so you can't really get down the isles. They also have a poor selection. They are always out of stock. This has been going on for years now. I've found other black owned beauty supply stores to go to because this one isn't cutting it. I've been to Fridays before and had a good experience with Mr. Friday who is very kind and helpful. However, the last trip I took here left much to be desired. The cashier behind the counter Chiquitta clearly lacked customer service skills. When I came in the store, I offered her a hello and I guess she didn't hear me because she continued on with her phone conversation where she was complaining about the last customer. After I left the store I realized she had overcharged me for an item I didn't purchase. The store has a huge variety and good prices. The store is also very cluttered and hard to maneuver through. I have so many memories of visiting Friday's with my mom and sisters when we were little. So, I'm happy to see it's still around after all these years. I stopped in recently because I was in the area and needed to pick up some stuff. First, I'll second the subject of the parking lot because it is very small. I can see how it would be impossible to park here on a weekend. Second, the prices here are very reasonable. I don't have options for local beauty supply stores (especially Black owned) where I live so I'm accustomed to paying $50 per trip when I need to restock my shampoo, conditioner, edge cream, etc. I grabbed about four things here and it was $14. I checked the receipt to make sure he scanned everything and it was all there. I booked it outta the parking lot in case he realized he under charged me! Lastly, the selection is great. I saw products that I wanted to try, but couldn't find anywhere. Now, there are some opportunities. This store needs a whole lot of organization. They have things in small plastic bins and nothing really has a price tag on it. That's why I was so shocked at my receipt total. It's kind of a guessing game. I don't know if they just have too much merchandise out, but it can be overwhelming. I got great customer service there and I'll continue to shop here. read more

I really love the idea of this beauty supply being BLACK OWNED and relate-able! They have an extensive amount of stock and various hair products so it is easy to come across whatever line of hair care you're looking for. As the other reviewers have stated, yes it is pretty cluttered and they do have a lot of merchandise that has not been removed from boxes.That would be the only negative caveat, however it does not take away from the concept of buying black and supporting a thriving business. The staff were pretty helpful and I found much more than I actually came in for. I found really cute Afro-Centric earrings here for $1! They have various nail polish colors and lipsticks...all are great quality. I will definitely be a regular here even with the distance being that I live in the valley, I do not mind the drive to stock up and support a BOB. This beauty supply has been in business for 20 years and counting! Wish I would have heard of it sooner! Also a few other things that I've observed and appreciate is; they do not require a minimum amount purchase to use your credit card. No fee if under a particular dollar amount. Let me first start by saying that I like the idea of a black owned beauty supply. Lord knows I've given plenty of my money to the Asian ones over the years. I visited Friday's for the first time and it was a little disappointing. The store was a mess! There were boxes everywhere, plastic wrapping, and other miscellaneous items in front of the entrance and blocking the already tiny walkway inside the store. HUGE fire hazard! Smh However,they did have the items I was looking for and the man at the cash register was polite and helpful.
