He didn't ignore them when they spoke to him (which the kids usually get ignored or bushed off with other places).Waitress was very attentive and on point! Friday Tuna is not the place to go. The food is very bland, and the fish i got in my sushi rolls tasted old. I have a very bad taste in my mouth. I went to this place for lunch with a friend today. I had been waiting on it to open and it was well worth the wait. The décor is gorgeous and you can tell no expense was spared. We had the Germantown sushi roll for an appetizer. It had a pleasant surprise on top a delicious caramelized surface,,,,,delicious. The entrée came in a sectioned off tray with a couple of surprises. My wife and I stopped here for an impromptu late lunch this past Saturday while we were in the area. It was our first time here, and I was happy we went. The sushi selection was very good, and the quality of the rolls were excellent. We started out with a half dozen of the Cajun oysters - the flavor was very good, but they were not the most impressive oysters - in their defense, it is November. For the main course, we got both the Amazing Roll and the Rainbow roll, along with soups and salads. The Amazing Roll lived up to its name, and I would definitely order it again. The Rainbow roll was very good, but came in second. The ambiance was nice and fit the trendy Asian cuisine vibe, but since we were there on off-hours, I can't say how things would be on peak times like a date night when it comes to atmosphere. My primary criticism was that the meal was a bit pricy for a lunch - the prices for the rolls we ordered weren't on the menu (it just has names and descriptions), and I just didn't expect them to be $13+ each. It was a reasonable cost for a date meal, just plan on spending $25 each with no liquor. Parking access/traffic in that stretch of G-town parkway makes me want to avoid the area in the future, so I wouldn't make a special trip out there again. Usually love this place and my family is a regular customer but the way they are handling take out orders because of Corona is extremely disorganized and very frustrating. I called and did a takeout order...the lady did not ask for my name or anything -- just said "Okay 20-30 minutes" and hung up. Here I am still waiting in line with 10 other people a whole hour after I ordered the food. The 1st time was for Happy Hour, which I wouldn't recommend...They service wasn't great and the bartender didn't even know what the specials were and when they figured it out, it wasn't great. I don't think the food was bad. We had the las vegas roll and cordova roll which me and my bf lovee. We also had the tuna tataki and bang bang chicken. I was dissapointed with the bang bang chix since it was not as good as expected. I think pandex makes a better chix than that. The tuna tataki was okay but my bf loved it since he never had tatakis before. Service was great. We had no problem with it. It was fast and friendly. We took a late lunch that was during their HH. Sushi was very fresh & delicious! Caterpillar sushi presentation was excellent.Sat at bar & service was not very good. There were only 6 guests in at the time (3:30) and 3 servers so it should have been better. They would have sold us more drinks had they been on top of their game & the check average would have increased quite a bit. Seems to me servers/bartenders who are not the best don't understand this. I see this in the younger more inexperienced restaurant workers across the board though. So tired of it in fact that as a retired server/bartender of over 20 years, I have now started tipping accordingly .(for years i was an automatic 20+% tipper). read more

This isn't my favorite sushi/asian place, but their lunch special is pretty good and is a good value. I had a 2 sushi roll special with some green tea ice cream. A nice portion for both entree and dessert. I did not particularly care for the shrimp tempura roll, the grease it was fried in had a taste to it I didn't like. Service is so so. I came here for Valentines with my SO and we had the Sushi Lovers (Sushi platter for two) and they showcase the sushi for you in a boat. It was awesome. However, this time it did not have the sails and it wasn't as cute. Still the sushi was really good. It comes with two salad bowls and two bowls of soup (miso or clear) and two little bowls of white rice. The rice was less than desirable but that was not the star if the show. I have had better experiences in terms of service, but then again, I went on Valentines Day. Would recommend for their sushi or Hibachi. I really hoped I'd find a hidden gem in the middle of Cordova. Unfortunately, I did not. I took my daughter and we met two friends for dinner at 6:15 on a Tuesday night. Everything took SO long! First we had to guess where to go to be seated, because there is no obvious spot for that (such as a podeum filled with menus and a seating chart). Then, we waited quite a while after getting our drinks to get to order food. The sushi I had was fine, the seaweed salad was great- not too sweet and not overdressed as it comes everywhere else. The sashimi portion was quite small, relative to Sakura or Sekisui's portion size. All in all, this restaurant is "fine". Me and my boyfriend went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I ordered a chicken teriyaki lunch and a Snow Crab Roll. My boyfriend ordered a sushi combination lunch which had 5 pieces of different kinds of Nigiri and a California roll (you can choose a California roll or Snow Crab roll). Both of our meals came on a tray with fried rice, salad w/ginger dressing, cucumber salad with squid, and some kind of thin noodles (rice noodles?) in a dressing. He didn't like the noodles but I did. My snow crab roll came out right away. However, they brought his meal out about 10-15 minutes before mine. He tried to be polite and wait on me to get mine before he ate but I told him to go ahead because I didn't get mine till 15 minutes before I had to leave to go back to work! The food was good. Not the best ever but I would order it again, especially the snow crab roll. Some of the prices of the rolls seemed outrageously high ($14 for a lobster roll) but some are an average price. The atmosphere was pretty but I wish I had gotten my food a little quicker (don't go if you're on a lunch break or on a time limit) and the server could have come around a bit more often. read more

We heard from several people this is "the place" to get our hibachi fix! Needless to say, we finally decided to go this past weekend! I really wanted to like this place! To start, the ambiance seemed kinda weird to me. It was pretty dark at our hibachi table in terms of the lighting. Next, the other side of our table was filled with empty dirty plates from the party that was there before us! The table directly across from us had big boxes on top of it of some kind of inventory I'm guessing! The place just seemed like a hole in the wall spot to me. Next our hibachi chef...when he started to cook, his presentation was so sloppy! Food was flying all of the floor and table. He tried to do his little tricks or whatever throughout cooking but it was very unimpressive! Then he kept getting the portion sizes wrong which was pretty annoying. We were one of three parties at our grill and he kept giving one or the other more or less of the items. The rice had no flavor and my scallops were gritty like there was sand inside! The one good thing they have going is the sushi. That was the only thing we enjoyed. Definitely will not return. read more
