The vibe from this place is that they try to up charge you and add things you don't want. It's to the point where I can go in and she'll know what my hair needs. I can trust her to try out different styles on me. While I always stay within the realm of a contemporary men's cut, I enjoy getting something longer, or shorter, or preppier. Joanna riffs off of what I usually get, which is a fun way to keep hair interesting and seasonal. I love how she styles my girlfriend's hair as well. A similar look to Olivia Munn's hairstyle on Newsroom- it's always a nicely tailored, layered look for her shoulder length style, which she blow-dries to add volume and bounce. Joanna was my hair and makeup stylist on an editorial fashion shoot (I'm a photographer). She brought her equipment, showed up on time, and did three separate looks for our model that whole day. I showed her a photo of me 3 month ago....when my pixy cut was just done elsewhere. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Not only did I figure out quickly that Michelle L. had probably never done a lady short hair cut, never the less a pixy cut, she was so slow.....other hair dressers next to me had 2 other clients in their chair, while I am still telling mine to cut shorter! She then had no flat iron to straighten it out and make me look somewhat ok and nothing to stule with.....having to bring it 'next fime', she explained. WTF? I was not happy and when she went to her cat to look if her flat iron may be on there, I asked the other hairdressers WTF? $50 for what usually takes 15 minutes....and I look like I had done this myself. No more Michelle Luce hairdresser. No more Vision hair salon. I expect at least someone who knows how to cut hair.

For the price I paid, this was a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this salon for Japanese straightening. Hi, this isn't a duplicate review. I purchased the Japanese straightening treatment under Kelli, but the person who messaged me was Eric. I expected good service since the salon was rated 5 stars, my hair was damaged and remained curly even after following all the aftercare instructions. I'm simply sharing my honest experience because I paid for a service that did not deliver the results promised.. Just sharing my honest experience.

EDIT: Given the below I asked both Kelli and Eric for a partial refund given that I wanted to take…read moremy business elsewhere after the treatment Eric provided did not work at all (never been here before so why would I go back after this). Kelli's response to that was that I should talk to Eric, and Eric ghosted me after that request (he actually didn't respond for 24 hours after I initially texted him and only did respond after I told Kelli I would write this review). I pointed out that $25 was given to him as a tip---they wouldn't even do that! Kelly did mention in her response below that they actually did not refuse to give a partial refund or the tip. So that's great! As soon as they do that I will update this post. If you're seeing this message it means they have still not given any refund whatsoever. _______________________________________________________________________ I unfortunately have to echo the poor experience posted by another reviewer of the Japanese hair straightening. I wish I had seen that review before I made the appointment. I called Kelli after seeing a Groupon for Japanese hair straightening. She was not available to do the appointment on the day that I was available so referred me to her colleague, Eric. He did the straightening and I followed the aftercare instructions. The treatment did not work. My hair looks the same frizzy wavy way that it did before the treatment. I messaged both Kelli and Eric about this and sent pictures. Kelli admitted that the product was not left in long enough for the treatment to work but offered to fix it by doing a keratin treatment (which would not have the same perfectly straight lasting results of the Japanese hair straightening) or to do the Japanese hair straightening again at no cost. I did my research by contacting other professionals who very sternly warned me that doing another Japanese hair straightening treatment would be very damaging to my hair. I said that I did not want to come back and have another treatment done and that I would like a partial refund. Kelli's response when I brought that up was that I should just talk to Eric from now on. My intention with the post is just to warn other people about my experience. It's been 3 days and I see no red damage to my hair, so at least there is that. I think that both Kelli and Eric had the best of intentions here and I assume do great work on other procedures so all I can share is my own experience with this specific procedure. I would very much encourage you to go elsewhere.
