I would have given a zero if I could. My wife is still upset with this company and I am too, we just want others to know what happened with our wedding with fraindise.
I would like to tell everyone about our wedding. We found fraindise from a friend who said that their cake and desserts were good and they could do big weddings too. My wife and I contacted Kirby about doing our wedding for our 400 guests. After trying their cake and treats we booked and left our deposit. We planned for a two their cake for the top of our massive cupcake tower. We wanted everyone to have cupcakes instead of a slice of cake. We also ordered a assortment of desserts for my dessert table, for my sweet tooth. My wife was e-mailing Kirby for about a month to get everything perfect for our wedding.
On the day of our wedding we did the traditional tea ceremonies at both of our houses. When we left my house to head to the hilton to get ready for our wedding cermony at 3:00. My wife was so nervous about everything, she had to follow up with everything from flowers to cakes. She called kirby and asked if everything was ok and she said everything was fine. My wife said "great, glad to hear that. We'll see you later, bye bye." After about a minute Kirby calls my wife back, she said "what do you mean we'll see you later. Don't tell me today is your wedding day!" My wife was freaking out and thought that Kirby was playing a joke. She said "don't joke with me right now." Kirby thought that our wedding was on a different day, but in all our emails and on our receipt for the deposit, the wedding was clearly on 11-12-11. We set the wedding date a year ago and had never changed it, so we dont know how she thought our wedding was on a different day. The following sunday to be exact. Our ceremony was scheduled for 3pm at the hilton and our dinner reception was at 7:00pm across the street at new capital seafood restaurant. Both of our ceremony and dinner reception was in San Gabriel. Kirby told my wife to not worry we'll make it to the wedding, but the only thing that she could make was the 400 cupcakes. The cake and all the assortments of all their deserts could not be done in time.
My wife was so scared to tell me that she waited till the dinner reception. In the meantime, she threw up cause of all the stress of not having any cupcakes. We were standing at the entrance of the wedding greeting all the guests and taking pictures with each guests that came in. I saw the cupcakes being delivered and my wife told me don't get mad, but i have to tell you something. I knew something was wrong when I saw her tearing up. I told her everything is great we're married now, everything will be fine don't cry. She told me that we had a problem with the baker. She told me that we only have cupcakes for our desserts and no cake and no dessert table. I got sad but I could not let it show or she would start to cry and only half of our guest were there and we couldn't look sad in our wedding pictures.
The saddest moment was when the MC told us to come up to cut the cake. The photographers and videographer were all around the cupcake tower waiting for us. When we got there everybody was asking where is the cake, someone go get the cake. We said we didn't want a cake we only did cupcakes, so we took a cupcake and both of us cut a cupcake for our picture. The cucakes didnt even taste like what we tried. They werent baked all the way and our guest didnt give us any good feedback on our cupcakes. Then after the wedding, our friends and family members found out what really happened because they knew about what we were suppose to have.
The next day, my wife emailed Kirby and she said she was sorry and that she'll make it up to us. Months went by and my wife called and emailed Kirby in regards to her cupcake stand which is still sitting at my house back in january and she told her that she's so busy that she'll just pick up the stand when she has time after Valentines day. The last attempt to contact Kirby was about a month ago when my wife called and left her a message, she never returned our phone call. Its already been 5 months and we've heard nothing.
We just wanted to let people know about our wedding with fraindise pastries. For a business that came highly recommended, she was a major disappointment. read more
