Unfortunately, the croissant was stale and tasted old, almost like it had been sitting in a basket with other food and absorbed an odd taste. I politely asked if I could exchange it for a bagel, which was actually cheaper, and told Camilla I didn't care about the price difference. When she went to ask the kitchen staff they proceeded to talk badly about me in Spanish. At that point, I said forget it and asked for a refund. Somehow, that became a problem too. Camilla told me there was no manager and that she couldn't issue the refund, even after speaking with a woman who clearly appeared to be able to refund. I then asked Camilla for her name, and she repeatedly refused to give it to me. I had to ask for a receipt just to get the information. I also took a picture of the woman who was talking about me in Spanish. Because she also wouldn't share her name. No wonder the reviews are terrible. Stale food and terrible customer service.

It was extremely last minute and I was trying to find anything I could while also getting my sisters cake of choice. I found Cake Monkey Bakery online and they seemed very promising. I called and asked if they were able to do a cake within 2 days and to my surprise they said possibly! They asked me to send an email or to come in with an inspiration picture to see what they could do and they exceeded my expectations! First off, the place was lovely with the neon signs and beautiful pastries displayed. I was greeted very nicely by Esmerelda and Nancy and told them my situation. They told me it's no worries and that they were able do the design of the cake with the exact color in no time! They asked a few questions and showed me similar cakes they have done in the past and they looked great. They said they'll keep me updated if anything happens during the process. Coming back 2 days later was a breeze. They called me the day before to tell me I can pick it the time I requested. Again with a warm welcome, they showed me what the cake looked like and I was more than happy, it looked just like the one my sister wanted. Parking can be a bit of a pain with its tiny lot and residential street parking, but trust me, it's worth it.
