I've used Freshly Folded for a few years but in this last year I started getting holes in my clothes. I contacted them about one particular item and they removed $10 from my account. I found this service by posting on Nextdoor asking my neighbors for their recommendations. Two people raved about them so I figured I'd try it out. Unfortunately I can't recommend them. I don't relish leaving not-so-good reviews, but for what they charge I expected better service. 1. They lost one of my favorite Encinitas Surfboards socks. They paired my sock with a rando black Under Armour sock that IS NOT MY SOCK. If you lost my sock, please don't pair it with some random person's sock from ANOTHER PERSON'S FOOT. 2. The chest up to the neckline of every shirt in one of the bags of clean clothes had powdered laundry detergent sprinkled all over it. I'm sensitive to detergent and I don't know what kind of detergent it is. I'm hoping it isn't powdered detergent with bleach because the shirts are mostly dark colors. I'll have to have that entire bag laundered again. 3. Blue marks that appear to be pen marks on the front of a white shirt that weren't there before laundry was picked up. The shirt didn't fit me that great anyway so rather than trying to remove the stains I threw it in the trash. 4. When they delivered the clean clothes on hangers (which I didn't request, my order was to have everything folded) they hung it on my screen door with the pointy part of the top of the wire hangers pressing against the screen, which could have poked and damaged the screen. What they did well: 1. Fast turn around time. Only took one day! 2. I like all the options when you order, and how easy the ordering process is on their site. 3. Impeccably folded and organized by category in separate bags, which makes it faster to put away. P.S. If Freshly Folded did your laundry and you have my Encinitas Surfboards sock, I want it back. Why I loved it: 1) I wasn't sure when or how'd I know a driver was on the way so just kept my dogs in and hoped for the best. They text you when the driver is on the way! I'd say from the text to when they got here was about 20m which I think is perfect. This is for both delivery and pick up. 2) Driver did not have to contact me saying he couldn't find my place. It was completely contactless which is what I was aiming for. I work from home I can't always be available. 3) Good value in my opinion. 3 king comforters plus a tip totaled to $85 but I found a coupon on their site and got $25 off! This was a surprise gift from my husband who saw how much I struggled to get laundry done (like actually folded and back in drawers) with three kids and our full time jobs. With our washer broken, we needed a convenient fluff, and fold service, preferably with pick up and delivery. I am thrilled that we found Freshly Folded. My initial questions were answered immediately when I called, , . The website provided further guidance on how to prepare for pick up. Clothes were picked up on Saturday morning and dropped off Monday late morning. They did an absolutely beautiful job. In fact, I'm not sure what they did, as my rough cotton shirts from Amazon are now smooth and soft. I requested no fabric softener, so whatever it was, worked wonderfully. I have never seen clothing and linens so meticulously and beautifully folded. I wish I'd taken a photo. I also sent items I wash on delicate and l air dry. I am extremely disappointed in the way this place is managed. They RUINED by white clothing (pictures attached) and refuse to compensate me for it. They refunded me for the $35 charge to get them washed, but that is it. The cost of the items they ruined is greater than $250. They offered to reclean them, but they are beyond repair. Blue detergent was poured directly on the clothing and left permanent stains (I've tried to get them out). Black and grey markets were made all over the clothes - almost as if they washed my pure whites with random dark colors - they are actually light grey / blue now.... They have messed up my clothes two other times (I have requested refunds for each time - only received one refund) and I have finally stopped using their services. I only continued to use them because they were in my area. We just moved to San Diego from Arizona. We are remodeling a home in RSF and have no washer or dryer. Being so exhausted from the move, we decided to look for a laundry service. We found Freshly Folded to have good reviews so went ahead and sent 5 bags of clothes to them. I wish I could send a video that shows all the damage, but it will not upload. SO many of our clothes, sheets and pillow cases are splattered with red and green ink. There is absolutely no way it was a slip on our end because we are living out of our suitcases and have zero pens or markers or anything that could have caused this type of damage. I am still waiting for a call back from the company but based on the irreparable damage, I am hoping they offer a full refund considering it cost $148 to wash all our clothes and the cost of everything ruined is greater than that. We paid a premium to have so much come back damaged. UPDATE: I was refunded the full $148 which was very much appreciated. OKAY. First of all, let me state that I'm not someone who would typically use this type of service. I haven't ever had a problem just doing my own laundry. However, this month with a shared laundry room, COVID-19, Christmas plans, birthday vacation, sick pets -- it got real easy to procrastinate. Last summer, I remember researching multiple laundry companies and had ended up signing up with Freshly Folded. Then ultimately did my own laundry. Haha. This month I had no choice. Super overwhelmed and with their 25% off discount for new customers, what did I have to lose besides loads of laundry which at that point, I wouldn't have minded if it had grown legs and walked out. Instead, I threw it all in black plastic bags (contemplated my life decisions, possibly throwing away all the clothes and bedding in dumpster) and put it outside my front door. I live in an apartment complex and had included all the instructions for access so I was delighted to see a young man using those directions and walking toward my unit. He was very friendly and wore a mask, told me briefly about the service and answered my questions, then took away my dirty laundry. This morning I woke up to an invoice, paid it, and logged onto the website to see that my laundry was on its way home. I was (admittedly) still in bed when I got a text that my laundry had been delivered. I went outside and there was all my laundry in clear plastic bags and in my laundry basket neatly folded and on hangers. Bedding as well (human and pet.) All I could think of is, that would've taken me an entire day. Now all I have to do is put it away (which I already did in record time) and am all set. Honestly, I wouldn't have considered using something like this regularly but it wasn't very expensive (I have to use a coin op laundry machines anyway) and it was way too convenient and saved me so much damn time and manual labor (it is a workout to haul the laundry omg) so honestly I may consider using their regular services. Even when I had questions or had to reschedule, their customer service team was super duper prompt and friendly and didn't shame me when I completely blanked on an appointment and hadn't left my laundry out. Ughhhh. I did offer to pay for a no-show fee bc that's super messed up -- don't be that guy!! Only thing I didn't get was their welcome kit! I really really really wanted to give this place a better rating and maybe I'll use their service again, and that experience will change my mind. However, my first service with Freshly Folded left me feeling... lukewarm. I'll elaborate. I do gotta hand it to them when it comes to communication and safety during this pandemic. Everything was done with compliance of social distancing. I didn't have to see anyone or greet anyone; and for anxiety, awkward stricken me, it was perfect! Jose promptly texted when he was 5 minutes away: a notification Freshly Folded gives you the option of setting up right when you sign up. Great if you're like me and live a hectic-full-time-working-mom lifestyle and absolutely need that extra reminder! I let him know what was out on my walkway (I live in an apartment complex) and thanked him. Then I got a text documenting when it was picked up, nice! So I went about my day, super stoked to have my blankets and towels washed and folded. That way, when I got home the following day, I could just get them out of the bags and get them put away. Tah dah! I was dreaming about it and bragging about not having to spend hours at the laundromat, and even MORE time folding. Oh, I was so excited. So, so excited. Then the text came, letting me know my several loads of laundry (I had a good amount of blankets and towels! No judging.) had been dropped off. O-M-G. A moms dream! So I drove home, excited to have fresh blankets and towels waiting for me. All I had to do was put them away. Right? Wrong. Now don't get me wrong, I've never perfected folding the ever hated fitted sheet. Only my nana knows how to fight that battle. So those I could forgive. The rest of my things? Looked like I gave to my 14 year old brother who just got kicked off the Xbox to do laundry. Just no effort. They were folded like someone had a bad day, was irritated and was just trying to get done with it as fast as possible. Now, I get it. No one wants to do laundry and fold. It's not a fun job. However, if I'm getting charged $105 for my blankets and towels, I don't expect perfection by any means BUT I do expect effort for the job to look nice and to make sure the customer will be satisfied. Maybe I'll try again with a smaller sized load and see if Freshly Folded can redeem themselves. Because a service to pick up, wash, fold, and deliver to your house? I really really want to like it! After using a towel and a blanket from this load, I'm deeply upset to say that these items do not smell clean. They do not feel clean. If they at least called a little advance, I could have made my pick-up items ready immediately. I called them shortly to re-schedule delivery for next day and left a voice message. No one called back that day or today, and I called them late afternoon hours to learn what was happening. I decided to try this service after the laundromat at my apartment complex increased prices. I have had 2 pick ups so far and I'm very happy with the service. I appreciate being able to select the laundry detergent used, and the turnaround is very fast. Their pricing is extremely reasonable, and they've even gotten the persistent moldy smell out of our towels. The cost is a bit higher than if we used a laundromat, but only barely, and it saves hours of time hefting laundry to another building and lets us cut back on how much we are out in public - the tiny laundry space here allows for 0 social distancing but Freshly Folded has 0 contact drop off. The only criticism I have is the bit of confusion we experienced when we first set up the account. The welcome email said we would be contacted within 24 hours to set up a drop off of a welcome package that would include the laundry bag. This didn't happen, when we reached out to customer service we were told to just put the laundry in any large bag and they would return it with a reusable bag for the next pick up. This worked out perfectly, and all other required services (pick-ups, drop offs, etc.) have happened quickly and with no hassle. read more

When I called the third time to check on my order (you never get a human when you call their number, just and answering machine) they said I had an outstanding bill. When I went on to check what they were referring to, it was a bill for my current order they had yet to deliver back to me. Used this service twice and on the second drop off , I had a dress returned to me with a tear down the zipper seam. There was no explanation for what happened and i did not drop it off this way. The dress was returned to me with the rest of my laundry on a hanger, as though it had been cleaned (albeit) returned torn and somewhat wrinkled. I had two other shirts, also returned to me on hangers, that did not appear to be cleaned and one was returned with an additional stain. Again, there was no call or note to explain what happened with the shirts or the dress. The rest of my clothes did appear to be washed, although, they did not smell like the fabric softener I requested. I emailed and left a message and emailed the company requesting compensation for the torn dress and a refund for the laundry issues, but they never returned my call or email. *** update: a staff member did respond via email that the company would refund me the cost of the dress that was torn; they offered to mail a check to me. That's not to say I will use this company again, but i need to be honest and say that they attempted to make things right regarding the torn item so i guess I'll bump this up to 2 stars. ***update #2: I was told they would mail a check for the cost of the dress, and a week later I have not received it. Our laundry was always washed well, but several of my husbands pants have gone missing, a pair of my jeans, and probably other clothing I just haven't noticed. We also end up with other people's clothes pretty frequently. I was only compensated 15 dollars for my lost jeans. Jeans are expensive!! First time they took my clothes they DIDN'T even wash them!! They took my clothes, didn't wash them, folded them and brought them back. Its a laundry service- I don't understand how that would happen. However they did fix the problem and picked my clothes up again and actually washed them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I had to redo half of my laundry because it smelled like it hadn't been washed, and I had to refold EVERYTHING it was so sloppy. I've hired laundry services in other cities I've lived in that were all excellent. This was my first in San Diego, and this service was AWFUL. My clothes smell like they haven't been washed with any detergent. Some of my clothes were not folded at all, just thrown in a bag. I had to iron some of my T-shirts, which I have never done before, because they arrived so wrinkled. The sock rolls are extremely sloppy. 3 pairs of socks arrived not together and inside out, just thrown in the bag. I am extremely disappointed and upset and want to warn others. Definitely would NOT recommend! They shrunk my clothes and stained my son's white towel. When I reached out to customer service to rectify the situation, they denied fault and said that they determined that their facility was not at fault. How could this be when no one but them had washed and dried our clothes? I had never used a laundry service before, but wanted to deep clean for my pillows. I was referred by my neighbor and received a credit for my first service, which was a wonderful incentive. Items were bright white and smelled great. My only issue is that the pillows were not completely dried all the way through, which has been the case for both times I've used this service. I love that you can customize the wash, so I will definitely be putting an "extra dry time" note for future pillow washing! Our comforter is too big our our washing machine so we have gotten it dry cleaned in the past but found it was too expensive to be doing on a regular basis. Freshly Folded has been great for a less expensive option. It came back with residue from the detergent and they were quick to come and pick it back up and rewash it for me, no charge or hassle. I just started using this service and I love it! I hate washing my cloths with a passion! I miss out on weekend events because I get so backed up with laundry and I have to wash them. We literally have one washer and dryer where I live for each floor there is about 25 people to wash regularly, and the washer breaks down constantly. Freshly fFolded works for me and my life!
