Came across FreshCo when looking for a place to get a quick coffee. The service was excellent! I asked for non dairy coffee and the owner Fafar (hope I spelled that correct) went out of her way to get me some. This place is a hidden gem. After living in Stamford for a few months, my boyfriend and I found this place as our go-to Sunday breakfast place. The food is awesome. Disappointing experience as I was hoping for a good one with the positive reviews. I ordered the Greek wrap, which looked great when I opened it. Unfortunately, it was deceiving. They used WHOLE kalamata olives in my wrap. So needless to say, I almost broke a tooth when I bit down on one with a pit inside. Common sense, people. Secondly, the entire wrap literally fell apart when you opened it. I like when delis know how to tightly secure a wrap. It's kind of something you should know how to do when you own a deli. Lastly, after eating through as it was pretty tasty l, I started to get a taste of cleaning product like Lysol. I had to spit the wrap out and rinse my mouth out a million times with water. What an amazing find! You'll pass right by this place by accident, but definitely stop in. It is really cute and clean inside (despite what the surroundings may seem honestly). This is a quick order at the counter place with a few tables and chairs. They have fabulous breakfast sandwich options, plenty of lunch sandwich/wrap/paninis and a salad bar, or make your own anything! They have a variety of breads and wraps to choose from. Also, fantastic bagels and many types of cream cheese. You can tell everything is fresh, Boars Head brands meats, soft bagels, fresh salads and spreads. The workers are so nice! Today I visited and she gave me a half dozen bagels for free... Just because :) that's how you get a regular customer! I will definitely be back often for both breakfast and lunch! So glad I listened to other Yelpers and tried Freshco. Stamford doesn't have a big selection of fresh bagel places, and I find offerings disappointing. Here the bagels were terrific. Crisp outside and chewy inside. That's what I look for. You know it's good if it doesn't need to be toasted. Big bonus points for the really sweet, courteous owners - I'm assuming husband and wife? This is my favorite bagel shop in Stamford. The owner is incredibly friendly and goes out of her way to make sure that everything is good. This alone is worth going to FreshCo for. I've had quite a few things on their menu and have to say it is all worth recommending. In my first review, I told you about how the lettuce in my salad from this deli was chopped so fine, I had to use a spoon to eat it and now this... Okay, so my team ordered from this deli again and now I really don't like the way they prepare their food. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and roasted red pepper. The person who ordered for me, said they did not have roasted red peppers as an option, but I could get mixed peppers. I said okay assuming they would be cooked or thinly sliced. When my sandwich arrived, I had grilled chicken on a whole wheat wrap with chunks of uncooked red and green peppers, red onions and mayonnaise! While I didn't mind the mayo, although I didn't ask for it. I have a problem with putting big chunks of uncooked peppers on a sandwich. It's an overwhelming burst of rawness in your mouth. And yes, I realize many delis offer this as a topping, but they're usually very thinly sliced. This is absolutely ridiculous! I cut peppers finer than this when I'm cooking spaghetti sauce!!!! Here's my bottom line - This restaurant will probably be good, once they get training in deli food management. They need to learn how to make a good salad and sandwich. Know, what goes with what. Just having the ingredients and putting them together does not suffice. FreshCo you can do better... read more

We just ordered lunch from FreshCo for a team meeting at work and I ordered the Belltown Classic Sandwich. It was awful. The chicken breast was inedible. Have you ever taken a bite of chicken and known by the first bite that something was wrong? That almost rubbery texture that makes even your teeth cringe? That was my experience with this sandwich. The best breakfast and lunch place I've found in stamford. Everything's fresh and delicious. I've had multiple sandwiches including the balsamic mozzarella panini with tomato and lettuce (an all time favorite of mine) and it was amazing. They serve cones (fried potato in a cone shape) which I found much better than garden catering's, especially with the sauce served. Just had a chicken cutlet sandwich with bacon and tomato, attached is a picture of said sandwich, and I couldn't stop eating until it was all gone. While the food is very good, the best part about FreshCo is still the owner. She is one of the nicest people you will meet and wont stop until you leave happy. I'll be back for sure! read more

The food is great, when they get you order right, I've been there 3 times and they either don't listen or don't care when you ask them to keep or add something. Furthermore they refuse to redo the order or refund your money. If you don't mind getting a few ingredients that you don't want or missing some ingredients then you'll like this spot. Also they charge to add lettuce tomato or onion to anything. If you work and you're on a but of a hurry thy don't seem to care either. They have taken up to 15 minutes every time an BEC has been ordered. I've told my workers to avoid it since they only have a 30 min break. read more
