All you have to do is submit & pay your order online at least 1 day ahead, then select your pickup time (8AM - 3PM (Mon-Sat)). When it's time to go get your groceries, you drive up to the warehouse, give them your order number, then pop open the trunk. They will wheel your groceries out and put them directly into the car trunk for you. We have ordered from Hardie's a couple times so far, and the produce has consistently been good quality (a few bruised items here and there, but nothing major). Since we are only ordering for 2 people, some of the bulk perishable items are not really an option for us. But this would be an even better deal for families or homes with multiple roommates! Driving Tip: Hardie's provides some directions and instructs customers to look for the orange cones. In addition to that, we've noticed you can enter the business park from Burnet or Metric. Both sides work, but Hardie's is a little easier to find if you enter from Metric.

It was fine getting to 99 Ranch from downtown Austin but getting back to the hotel during rush hour was brutal. At least gas is more affordable in Austin though. 99 Ranch locations are indicators of Asian communities in the US. I wanted to check out the 99 Ranch in Austin before flying back home. The store is in a strip mall and within walking distance of other Asian businesses, businesses similar to the ones you'd find in Downtown Seattle and Tukwila/Southcenter. This 99 Ranch location is newer and cleaner than the one in Kent, WA. Staff were friendlier most likely because it was midday and during the week. I'm sure if it was after work or the weekend the store would have been crowded just like the HMart off Lakeline Blvd. Merch was reasonably priced. Sales tax in TX is less than WA. They also had a separate store around the corner for alcohol. With the high cost of living on the West Coast I'm sure people will continue to move to Texas. They'll find communities or create communities similar to what they've experienced prior to moving to the Lone Star State.

The line can…read moresurprisingly get pretty long, so be prepared, but they have plenty of seating, so you can eat there first and then go shopping afterward. Super convenient setup with a bunch of options. Think of it as a slightly more authentic, low key Panda Express with much larger portions. Like most Asian fast casual spots in this style, they really pile on the food. Three Item Combo ($11.99, 10/10) - comes with a side of fried rice or noodles, or you can split it half and half. Fried rice is definitely cooked better than Panda's. Not too salty, and pairs really well with the entrees. - Orange Chicken had its own spin, a little different from Panda Express but similar overall, crunchy (though not as crunchy as Panda) and very flavorful - Eggplant was amazing, deep fried and then sauteed in a savory marinade, tender, hot, and packed with flavor - 3rd entree sauteed chicken and pepper dish, wasn't as crispy but had a nice Sichuan-ish flavor that paired well with the noodles and rice - the 2 of us were quite hungry going in, but we couldn't even finish 1 order. Portions here are genuinely huge and easily stretch into leftovers for one person Overall, if you're going to 99 Ranch for authentic Asian groceries, definitely check out their food court too. Great prices, fantastic portions, great flavor, and super convenient before or after you shop. Keep it up, 99 Ranch.

But I didn't get the chance to shop there. Fast forward, I was in Georgia for a few months, went inside, and fell completely in love. It is such a great grocery store. So when I came to Austin, I just assumed they didn't have one, but to my surprise, I discovered the ALDI sign as I was driving to another store. I find my go-to and mostly a variety of food that I love. I find other items I haven't tried before, but now do. They also have the best selection of meats, veggies, and fruit. The freshest of fruit, I must add. I love the wide selection of candies, crackers, and cookies. My favorite is the miniature Reese's cups and the fruit gummies. I like that when I can't find an item, someone is there to help. I like the layout of the store; it's very open with maybe 4 to 5 aisles. I like that they are very friendly at the cash register.
