I've been going to BV in DeWitt for 4 years. They have excellent customer service, they welcome me…read moreby name when I come in for an appointment and stop by to offer water/soda while I'm getting my nails done. I always see Tracy - she is amazing! I usually go a month between appointments for a dip on natural nails & a pedicure - I can't remember a time my nails have broken or chipped in between appointments. She's the best!!

I've been to BV Nails in DeWitt several times for pedicures when I couldn't get into my usual…read moresalon, and I've always had good experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing, and I feel this is something management needs to address. I went with my boyfriend for dip manicures, while my son got a pedicure. I had tips applied to my natural nails with dip. The technician doing my nails seemed rushed, and there were noticeable dips and imperfections throughout the finished manicure. When I pointed them out, I was told they were because of the tips, which has never been an issue for me at other salons. The undersides of my nails were also left a mess, and the manager had to correct them. I will give him credit--he did a great job fixing them and was very accommodating. But honestly, the quality of my manicure was not what bothered me most. What was completely unacceptable was the way my boyfriend was treated by the staff. Several employees openly stared at his nails, laughed, pointed, and repeatedly came over just to look at them. At one point, multiple technicians were gathered around him, laughing and essentially making him the subject of their entertainment. This was not subtle, and it was incredibly uncomfortable to sit there and watch. A nail salon should be a place where people can express themselves without being judged or ridiculed by the people providing the service. Whether you personally like someone's nails, style, color, or choices is irrelevant. **Laughing at, pointing at, and openly gawking at a paying customer is disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable.** What makes this even more disappointing is that I know BV Nails is capable of doing beautiful work. I've seen it myself, which is why I had no problem returning. But great nail work does not excuse treating customers this way. **Management needs to address this.** Staff should understand that every customer who walks through the door deserves to feel comfortable, respected, and welcome. My boyfriend should not have to sit in a salon and feel like the staff is laughing at him simply because he chose a different style of manicure. The manager was kind and did make an effort to fix my nails, and I appreciate that. But the behavior of the other staff completely overshadowed that positive interaction. I am leaving this review because I hope management takes it seriously and addresses the culture and behavior in the salon. **Being talented at what you do is only part of running a successful business. How you treat your customers matters just as much.** After this experience, I cannot say that BV Nails feels like a welcoming or inclusive salon, and that is incredibly disappointing.

BV Nails & Lounge - The guy refused to add a nail to make them look the same. He wanted to use acrylic to make a nail & got upset that I wanted a nail added.

The nail tech who did my pedicure was unhappy with the fact that I chose the regular pedicure and kept trying to upsell me. She was unhappy I chose a light color on my toes because it was more coats. She continued talking in a different language the whole time which made me feel like she was talking about me. She used gel polish and didn't even ask if I wanted it or that it was $12 extra. I found that out at the end. I was a walk in so I didn't mind waiting but I was told "15 min" and it was like an hour. The woman who did my nails seemed to be rushing. She forgot to turn the UV light on and blamed me for not telling her. She filed excessively and never pushed my cuticles back. I asked for short and she didn't even ask what shape she just filed square. The nails turned out pretty good but the experience wasn't great. It was very expensive and I know nails are expensive hence why I only do them for special occasions. The fact that they didn't even tell me about the up charge on the toe polish really upset me seeing I chose the basic pedicure for a reason. I was there for 3 hours. It's been a week and 3 of my nails broke at the cuticles and peeled off. I paid for dip which is supposed to have better hold up. I will not go back and I don't feel comfortable going back in and having them fixed because they already look grown out. Save your money ladies.
