The strings of lights on the ceiling was making my husband feel a little queasy, but other than that, our experience at Fresh Mint was very positive. The waiters were really nice. One even recommended an Indian movie (since we were watching the music videos they had on a TV), and brought us some things to try (green chilies, a couple of sweets), I think because we're enthusiastic about spicy Indian food. There was a complimentary appetizer of two flat, crisp crackers with spiced herb and tamarind dips. The herb dip was tasty, but the tamarind was a bit too sweet for me (a shame, since I love tamarind). We ordered the Begara Beigan and Nilgiri Kurma (as spicy as they would make them), since they were different and sounded interesting. The Begara Beigan had big chunks of eggplant, rather than mashed like I expected, and the Nilgiri Kurma had a lot of mint, which my husband isn't a fan of. Both dishes were still quite good (flavorful and spicy), though. The Begara Beigan was smoky, earthy, and rich, and the Nilgiri Kurma was herby, light, and somewhat sweet. There was also a complimentary little side of pumkin curry, which was apparently a leftover from the lunch buffet, and it was amazing. We could've eaten a whole dish of it. It was a lovely experience (despite the lights), and we'll be curious to try their other dishes, since even ones that weren't quite our tastes were exceptional. read more

I have been to dozens of Indian restaurants in the past 40 years, and I have visited India three times. I love the food. (BTW, India is a great vacation destination if you are adventurous and open-minded. It's so rich in culture, history, and lovely, friendly people who also speak English.) We found Fresh Mint on line while traveling through WV. It was 20 minutes out the way to get there, and 20 more minutes back to the interstate. And definitely worth it! We are fans if Indian food, but weren't too sure what to expect. Believe me, this is one of the best Indian restaurants we've been too. Everything we had was amazing!! had been talking to chef Suresh who was very professional, accommodating and responsive to all my queries. We drove 3.5 hrs to try their food and sign a contract to book them as our caterer for the wedding. The drive was totally worth it! Foods good but they kinda hustled me when i ordered two separate order of rice. Instead if packing it separate They just packed it into a slightly bigger bowl so in other words it kind a look like a lost on that deal. $40.00 for two bowls of butter chicken and one bowl of rice. Decent enough food - my dosa was great, and they have some interesting Indo-Chinese dishes - but the night we were there (Saturday evening) it was total chaos. Some tables ordered and got their food immediately, others had to wait for hours or got the wrong orders. Our dishes came out randomly, so some of us had finished before others got their mains. Some dishes never showed up but at least were taken off the bill. They've got a lot to iron out. read more

Morgantown doesn't have the best variety of restaurants. Therefore my husband and I are very grateful that this place opened here. The food is fantastic! The samosas and vegetable pakora are delicious. All of their naan is so yummy, that perfect chewiness with some crunchy well baked bits. I like vegetarian dishes while my husband prefers extra spicy meat dishes and neither of us have found an entree we wouldn't order again. The flavors are truly phenomenal. We typically order out and the food is always hot and ready when they say it will be. Twice we've dined in and it seems like a family owned and operated place. When I work a night shift, I and my colleagues will often order from Fresh Mint and everyone really enjoys their food. I hope the place stays open for a very long time. read more

This place is AMAZING!! Even through a delivery service, the food arrives piping hot and fresh! Their samosas (and the mint and tamarind sauces it comes with) are incredible. They are so crispy and flavorful. I love all of the vegetarian options they offer! You can't go wrong with anything you order here.
