Plain dosa with sambar

Solid Indian restaurant for Morgantown. Very friendly and prompt service. Seems to be a popular lunch spot. Decent amount of seating inside. All of our food was great. Reasonably priced. Chicken dum biryani was pretty good, definitely a reliable dish. Dosa was great. Definitely plan to go back again/order takeout in the future. I would say give it a shot for your favorite Indian dish.

This was my first is it since before covid and my husband's first ever visit. The staff were extremely polite and offered suggestions throughout our meal. Everything was delicious! The Bollywood music playing on the television made the environment serene. There was plenty of space between us and other customers, and we enjoyed the privacy.

We were driving near Morgantown, and looking for a place for dinner, when out of the blue, we saw a sign on the side of the road that listed the Fresh Mint, High Street, Morgantown, so I fired up the Yelp App., saw that they had great reviews, so we set our GPS to find this place. It is located near West Virginia University, and is located in a little shopping center with its own parking lot. We were pleased to see that the menu listed items that were Gluten-Free. My wife and I split a Mango Lassi, Aloo Gobi (Potatoes and Cauliflower), and a Malai Kofta (Veggie and Cheese Balls in a creamy sauce). We ordered both dishes mild, and that is exactly how they arrived. Service was good, and the food arrived fairly quickly. We enjoyed both dishes and the drink, and the gentleman that took our order must have overheard that it was our anniversary, and he brought out a small complimentary dessert. That was very nice of him . . . Cheers!!

Masala Dosa, Lamb Kurma, and Kashmiri Chicken were all incredible. Service here remains top-notch! We love coming to Fresh Mint!

Was craving Indian food and this was exactly what I needed. I had the vegetable pakoras (so good!) and tried the dal on recommendation -- definitely a new favorite.

A wonderfully rich non-vegetarian, lunch plate. The flavors are immense and intense.

Great Indian cuisine. I enjoy lunch. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian plates are nicely available.

This is a great little spot with a cozy atmosphere and the employees are kind and welcoming, but…read morethe food we had wasn't that great. I've had a lot better in regards to the dish we ate. My girlfriend and I were craving some Indian food so we stopped by one day on a little road trip. We opted for the Dahi Puri as we both had been craving it, but the wet plate left little to be desired in the umami department. The shells were soggy instead of crunchy and the taste wasn't appetizing, sadly. I will definitely come back and try other dishes in the future when I am in town, but what we had on this day in particular I will opt out from then. Thanks for the great service and hospitality. Enjoy :D

Tried this place for takeout recently. Overall food is average to below average for some dishes…read more Online ordering easy and prompt. Dine in also looks like a good option. The biryani is very average for a run of the mill Indian restaurant. Does not hold up to authentic biryani though - really doesn't have the depth of spices you expect. Rice slightly overcooked. No fried onions, red onions, hard boiled egg etc. The chicken is decent in it. Again, it's not bad, but it's not great. Malai kofta was okay. It was spiced heavily with anise which I've not seen before. Not necessarily bad, but very different. Otherwise it's pretty good, koftas are well made. But probably avoid that one if you don't like anise. Samosas here were pretty sub-par in my opinion, maybe just my preference though. I like samosas with thinner crispy wrappings and flavorful spiced filling. These are more thick dough wrappings and fairly bland filling. Chicken 65 was more like chili chicken. Actually, not entirely confident they didn't switch it on accident. I'm used to dry seasoned chicken for chicken 65, what I got was chicken in a chili sauce with peppers and onions. It was okay, about 20% of the chicken was gristly/not edible the rest was average. I'll probably stick to fresh mint for Indian food in Morgantown. They have dosa there too and the food is better in my opinion, at least for the above dishes.

Both reservations and walk-ins are available. My husband and I arrived at opening time for lunch, and many tables were available. One table was dirty, so we sat at a different one. Throughout our meal, two employees kindly served us. The menu listed many meat, seafood, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, and the spiciness levels were customizable. I saw chaat, tadoori, biryani, dosa, and more. Prices were reasonable. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Mixed Vegetable Curry - 4.5 stars - I requested a spiciness level of medium, and the cook prepared it accordingly. The ingredients appeared to include green beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, potato, onion, tomato, clove, cinnamon, ginger, and garlic. The serving size was generous, so I could have had leftovers for a latter meal. Chicken Saag - 4.5 stars - My husband usually orders Saag Paneer, but he chose chicken this time. Other ingredients included spinach, fenugreek, ginger, and garlic. He chose a spiciness level of mild, and the cook prepared it as such. He said that it was "tasty" and "very good" and that he would happily eat at this restaurant again in the future. The side of basmati rice was cooked pefectly. Garlic Naan - 5 stars - My husband described this garlic naan as "Oh, wow! Very flavorful! Crunchy but not overdone."

Well, either something else in the food acts like a "nut" or they just don't actually know what's in their ingredients. Good thing UPMC East is just up the road, as I had to rush my daughter to the ER. I can't blame the restaurant fully, as I should have done a little more in-depth research on Indian cuisine, and there was definitely a communication problem! I'm not a negative person, so now that I've said the above warning, I will say the food was delicious. I asked for a spicier version of chicken curry, you know, where your lips burn, but in a good way, and you just cant wait for the next bite! Definitely quality ingredients (and I'm betting they use cashew flour as a thickening agent)! The restaraunt is very clean. I would give the food a 4 out of 5. My daughter liked her rice, and honestly, had it not been for the required Emergency Room visit, she would have gave the place a 3!
