This is by far the best fresh house experience I've ever had all thanks to the gentleman Michael who went above and beyond for me. I come to this location all of the time because it's right up the street from me, but every time I go during the week my food just isn't right compared to when I come on some weekends. After telling Michael about my orders on other days, Michael apologized and made sure that my order was perfectly made! I now only go if he's there!! He just makes the food so much better than the other employees. I'm big on reviews and I just have to give credit when it's due!! Thank you so much Michael for making this location the best one by far!! To all that visit this location, ask for Michael to fix your food I promise you won't be disappointed!! He should be running this place honestly if you ask me!! It's hard to find good service now a days, let alone good food!! This is one of my favorite spots for fish! I used to stay near this location so I'd treat myself about 2-3 times a month to a catfish filet sandwich. The seasoning is impeccable, it's fried to perfection, and the portion is generous. Since they're right next to ALDI I usually call my order in before I go shopping so by the time I'm done my sandwich is ready. They are pretty popular and get rather busy so I suggest calling your order in. Everything is cooked to order so it's fresh and hot. The ladies at the counter are always pleasant and attentive. My first time ordering from here I got the cat fish dinner. I asked for it to be fried crispy but it was soft as cotton. The catfish was cut into 5 pieces and was not cooked in corn meal. I had fries and coleslaw and it cost $24 dollars for this one dinner! No seasoning on the fish at all! The young lady was rude and just handed me my bag, didn't even have the decency to tie it up. Absolutely horrible customer and fish is not fresh at all. My husband bought four lobster tails from here and two out of the four were completely bad. They crumbl liked cheese when cooked. We called the market to return them, gave them our name and was told by the manager that he would correct it. Once we arrived at the store to get the new lobster tails were told that they were not going to replace them after all. A complete waste of money and the worst customer service ever! read more

I drove from Taylor to Redford Michigan just to get nasty tasteless food the fish was cooked to hard and no taste along with the fries that was cooked hard and also no taste! I was selling an item and was in the area. As I was leaving the parking lot I saw the sign, "FRESH FISH." That caught my attention and made me look. I turned the car around and headed to the place. It is take out only. There is a window where you can see the items. Perch, snapper, bass, orange roughy, catfish, shrimp, scallops and even lobster. I also saw they had seafood gumbo but that was sold out. You can either buy by the pound or have them cook it for you. There are sandwiches or dinners. Dinners come with slaw and fries. The hushpuppies are optional. I LOVE hushpuppies. So basic but so good. I opted for the Orange roughy sandwich, shrimp and hushpuppies. There are also desserts. Cakes, banana pudding and sweet potato pie. I also got the pudding. It came to a total of $23. Not bad for seafood. It took a little while to cook the items. I would order ahead. The food was good. Not a knock out but fresh and good. There was not a lot of batter which was a plus. The banana pudding was interesting. It had pudding with cake in between. Not sure about that but a different take. The staff were courteous. I wish there was a place around me like this. I would go more often. I will be back if I'm in the area. read more

If rude service was title on yelp, this place should definitely get it. I went to get fresh fish and was in the phone listening. I asked the person behind the counter if he can help select the fish. He said as soon as you get off that phone of yours. I told him I was just getting the fish order, but he refused to give any service. The lady working behind the countered laughed. I got of to the phone the guy listen to my order and gave me the fish I wanted. Overall, the workers have an Attitude. Let's see how the fish turns out to be. read more

I use to go to school this place on 8 mile and I loved the place. Seem like they fell off once they got popular and starting expanding. Went to this location in Redford. Can I say terrible. I ordered the ocean preach dinner and it look like nuggets. You can tell they cut the fish in half and is cutting back but still charging the same price. I wish I took a picture. I returned the food and I received a refund. The quality has went down hill indeed. If it was up to me I would tell you to run from this place!!!!! read more

My first time there, and I will never come back. The food was ok, but the heavy set man with a mini fro saying he was the manager, had the worst attitude I've ever seen. After he'd gone outside several times accompanied by a woman holding a child, another worker came from the back, asked us what we had, we told him and he said, "oh your order been up." The manager came back in and rang up the order. My wife asked how long it had been up and he decided to go tit for tat, and became sarcastic when my wife asked about lemon pepper seasoning on our food. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because the food wasn't as terrible as our service. If I were rating the service only, I'd be trying to get Yelp to have negative star ratings. This is a favorite place to get fresh, seasoned fried fish and shrimp. They also have a great selection of fish for you to buy and cook yourself. It may not be fancy, but I am never disappointed in the food or the portions. I wish they had more sides to choose from and maybe a green veggie or two, but if you just want some good fish, this is the place to go. read more

I've never order food from this place. i usually get salmon and bring it home. The people are nice, the fish is good quality. My issue is they cant seem to cut ONE piece to size. The first time we went here it was great. That was when they were new and they were trying to be impressive. Now they don't seem to be interested in impressing anyone. We called at 7:45 on Halloween they normally close at 8:30, we were informed that they were closing early, they closed at eight. Still plenty of time to get a carry-out order, right? Wrong.
