I recently went to Fresh Express Coin Laundry to do two loads of laundry with my sister. We went to grab a few things next door at Big Lots and when we came back all of our belongings were gone. We talked to the woman working the front counter who said she was "not allowed" to call the owner, weird but okay. She was an extremely understanding person and wanted to help so called him anyway to get access to the camera footage. The owner is the only person who has access to the footage and doesn't allow his own employees to have access -- another business move that seems counter intuitive, but okay. When we finally contacted the owner he asked what dryer we had been using and when we told him it was in the very center of the facility, he said "we don't have footage of that area". Funny, because there are two cameras pointed in the direction of the dryers we used.
And let's entertain this; let's say the cameras were not on (but let's be honest they are probably broken -- just like the multiple washers in the facility that haven't be repaired in at least a year), why couldn't he just pull up the footage of the other cameras of people walking in and out of the building to find out who walked out with our things? There's no excuse for this with the information we were able to give him, time stamps and all -- his only excuse is greed and laziness. Technology these days makes it incredibly easy to pull up camera footage and catch thieves, there's absolutely no excuse, Jim Hearst. We've taken matters into our own hands and filed a police report but I hope this review inspires a bit of morality in you to help a client who has used this facility for years ... and who is also a single mom, a waitress, who now has to buy clothing during Christmas. The least you could do is compensate for our losses. Happy holidays, I guess? read more
