The issue isn't the concept or the food. The issue is the price and the effort. If you're wealthy you could dine here every day for lunch and be very satisfied with the food. If you're not that, you might feel that you've paid too much for a mid looking bowl. At this price point, other similar healthy bowl cafés elevate their bowls. More complex ingredients and definitely a better presentation. Unfortunately, while the salads and bowls tasted good, they're not good enough to warrant a return visit. read more

I love their Miami bowl. You can easily tell they are made fresh with clean ingredients. They rebranded recently by changing their restaurant name. However, most of the menu is the same. The only downside is parking as it is in downtown Escondido. read more

I appreciate the cute decor and the vegan options and the mindset of healthy/no oils -but my Earth bowl with tofu was lacking much flavor and the tofu seemed right out of the package. I enjoy eating at a fun restaurant for new flavors and TLC of the staff and kitchen crew - and my food that day seemed like something I could have thrown together at home with standard ingredients. I saw an interview in Magazine about this cute little cafe and We always drive by on the way to church. So, today we decided to try the Fresh Cafe for lunch. They did not disappoint! Greeted by a very nice young lady behind the counter, cutely decorated with a relax bohemian style atmosphere. Inside and outside seating. We sat outside where It felt like we were on vacation. My husband order the Chica-kiles breakfast, which had a red and green sauces. I snuck a bite, it was so good and the green sauce tastes homemade! My order was Mediterranean bowl with Salmon as my protein, instead of a lamb leg. The salmon was beautifully cooked and garlic cilantro sauce was so good. When we go back, because we will, I'm going to ask for extra sauce. Kudos Fresh Cafe for great tasting HEALTHY food and for making your home in Escondido! read more

My partner and I eat here frequently and we're vegan! Although Fresh Cafe is not all vegan, they have tofu and mushrooms as protein options and all of their sauces are dairy free. I got the earthy bowl! It's my go-to. My partner has gotten most of the signature bowls on the lunch menu and the chica-quiles! I'll also get the fruit tea of the day. The people who work at Fresh Café are absolutely wonderful--friendly, kind, and welcoming. The kitchen area looks clean, and the food itself was wonderful! We especially enjoyed the refreshing hibiscus tea. That said, the restaurant itself really needs a major overhaul. While the tables were clean, the restroom was in terrible condition, and the overall space just feels dirty and old. Either there's no air conditioning or it simply doesn't work, because it was very uncomfortable inside. On the weekend, our group of friends was surprised to find a painting class going on in the dining area. The teacher was miked up, making it hard for us to even hear each other talk. The décor also feels very dated--the strings of lights with visible plugs and the worn, homemade-style shades hanging from the ceiling only add to the rundown look. This café has so much potential, and with an investment in a light, fresh redesign, it could really shine. The food and staff deserve a better space! read more

I'm so happy I finally got to try Fresh Cafe! There aren't a ton of primarily healthy restaurants in Escondido (that I've discovered yet, at least) so I'm really extra happy to have discovered Fresh Cafe. We picked up some bowls for lunch on a weekday, and brought them home to enjoy. I was craving tofu, and the Earthy Bowl was the perfect way to satisfy that craving - the ingredients all tasted super fresh! My partner got the Miami bowl, and wow, now my plantain craving is back, too! Cannot wait to return and try more bowls. :) Hopefully I can dine in next time to experience the service and ambiance firsthand! SYOY! read more

I wanted to like Fresh Cafe, but unfortunately the food didn't leave a great impression. The prices felt high for the portion sizes and overall quality. The chicken had an unpleasant aftertaste, and some ingredients didn't taste very fresh--more canned than expected for a place with this name. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. While this visit missed the mark food-wise, I might consider giving it another try in the future. Service was horrible, rude and not friendly. Glass water cups had a wet rag smell. This was because they did not dry them correctly and placed on the table. Food was not great. Reply: This review is not a lie at all. You must have me mistaken because I was not in with friends just my daughter. Pick up one of those cups by the water and smell it. It smells horrible. Maybe they need more air drying. The girl at the front was not friendly at all. This was our first time coming here and we were super excited. We were not greeted with a friendly hello and she had an attitude. Your staff needs to cheer up. Maybe it's your management that has them miserable. I'm sorry but staff was rude. Food was ok. Not worth the smelly cups and rude service. It's really rude that you would suggest McDonald's when we were in search for healthy yummy food. Everything from here tastes so fresh! I got an earthy bowl and all the flavors blended together so well. The tofu was cooked very well and had some spice to it and all the veggies were fresh and crisp. No matter how good it was, I have to admit it wasn't enough food for how much it is but maybe a different protein would be more filling. The venue was very specious with plenty of seating, and if you went with a large group you could definitely push some tables together. The atmosphere gave hipster coffee shop vibe. The plants decorated all around were so calming. They even had a small stage, but I don't see an events list or anything. As for parking, there is a public lot right around the corner so that was very convenient. If you are looking for a light refreshing meal, I would recommend this place. read more

We had a really great experience and highly recommend Fresh N Go. You order at the front and then seat yourself. Super kind staff takes your order and gives recommendations if it's your first time. I got the chica-kiles with modifications due to a dairy allergy and they're totally ok with that! My fiancé got the poki bowl and both were super delicious. Oh and don't sleep on the iced hibiscus tea. It's infused with different fruit and today it was pineapple and banana and I'm savoring til the last sip. It's beautiful inside with a booth area with a gorgeous green velvet cushion and the chairs are white plastic wicker - super comfortable. There are plants everywhere and it just gives a clean and healthy vibe. There's also a nice sitting area in the back and outdoor seating. It was pretty quiet in the morning when we got there around 11. It would be an awesome place to work! read more

One of my favorite things about traveling to Escondido for work is this beautiful Restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful. The people are beautiful. The food is delicious. I order the earthy bowl for dinner or for my long drive home and it is one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had. Today, after a long night of work, I ordered ahead and they left me the sweetest note in my bag which was "rest like an angel "... how thoughtful was that!!!!
